He wins the super bowl next season 2010 where he broke his collarbone on an amazing effort when he dove to break up a sure TD. He didn't get the love I thought he deserved until he announced he was retiring. I'd been to Michigan games as a youth, the first game I remember was the Colorado game. It was the 97 Championship football team taking the field, I was one row up from the tunnel. My love cemented from that day forward. I had NO IDEA I was watching some elite athletes at the time, sometimes I wish I had known. Charles Woodson was one of my favorite players and still is. What an outstanding young man and great that we got to call him a Wolverine. GO BLUE!

Catching footballs thrown by random people tailgating in their yards, smelling all the grills going, hearing the radios with either the pregame show or people blaring the fight song and maize and blue flags draped all over houses in between all the maple trees showing those pretty fall colors. Finally getting up to south Main Street and getting the first glimpse of that colossus of a stadium. Had to go walk by the big statue of the eagle no matter what. Getting down into our seats divided by the isle way from the student section (having massive marshmallow fights). Hearing the band get going, waiting to see if the leader was going to touch his head to the ground backwards. Always did, and without his hat on. Biakabutuka, Woodson , Toomer , Griese, Perry, Hart, Edwards, Henne, Long and all the rest of them. Watching games there was a really great part of my childhood. Go Blue!

If he was a true defensive player he wouldnt have won it. True defensive players never win it no matter how great they are. So him playing on offense really helped his case on becoming the heisman trophy winner.

Random Noob That wasn’t what my statement was about lol. True Defensive players aka players that only play defense don’t win. They don’t really have a shot because it’s harder to make as much of an impact strictly on D as QBs and WRs do. I feel like Defensive players should have an even chance to win but it’s mainly a QB award sadly.
