When presented with a challenge sometimes the best solution is one that doesn't exist yet. This was the catalyst for this face protection design. I was in need of something that would save my mouth and nose but the requirements didn't end there. The mask needed to be minimal to allow for down sight aiming. It had to be comfortable, breathable, stylish and easy to mount. All these goals were achieved in a surprisingly small and extremely light package.
If you have tried any airsoft mask you know there are always compromises and the biggest one is comfort, both in how the mask feels on your face and how it changes the way you use it when interfacing with an airsoft replica. Metal or plastic mesh mask are designed to prevent BB strikes through sheer resistance and so they bulky and stiff which makes it awkward to aim down sights. To avoid this the BEM Essentials Face Protection is made of flexible rubber, designed to absorb and distribute the energy of an incoming BB. It sits tight around the contour of the user's face and allows for snag free, tilt free, compromise free aiming down sights, just rest your cheek on the stock like you would without the mask and aim freely, no need for risers or for tilting your head 45 degrees.
When it comes to breathability this mask is hard to beat, with large (but not large enough for a 6mm BB) holes in front of an elongated mouth pop out, the mask allows for massive amounts of fresh air. The nose section is also a large channel for air to exhaust, it is protected from all sides and directs the air downwards away from the goggles. Additionally, heat and breath air can vent out the sides. All these outlets prevent the fogging of goggles and further enhance the airsoft experience.
Lastly the mask had to be easy to attach and had to stay in place. The usual solution is to add straps and I hated that option. The goggles on your face already have a strap that keeps them firmly attached to your head, with that in mind I devised a system that allows for quick attaching and detaching. Included are 3 sets of "dumbbells" these are stretchable and come in 3 sizes. You simply put on end through the button hole opening on the mask and the other through a mesh like portion on the underside of the goggles (ESS Profiles, Revision Desert Locusts). The rubber "dumbbells" pull the mask up to the goggles but allow it to stretch and bend as needed. Because the mask and goggles now become one the mask never slides down and prevents gaps from forming, it also takes any pressure off it resting on your nose. With this setup you will never leave your mask behind and have a bad day as they are always attached but can be moved to any other large style compatible goggle.
We called the face protection "The Essentials" as that is the goal, protect the most vulnerable parts of the face, mouth, nose and cheeks that hurt the most when hit. This mask is not designed to be the ultimate BB avoider but it will keep you looking and feeling cool, fog free and for the most part you will forget you are even wearing it, which is the ultimate goal.

how's this hold up against paintballs?
Yes make one for the m-frames asap
Putting my mind to it rn
Please do
god I love Airsoft for this exact reason, people are always trying to find a way to do things better and develops the sport. Thank you for your contributions!
Gotta innovative or why even bother.
The reason your products always look so simple is because you put the time in to make them do exactly what they are suppose to without a bunch of extra. Another great looking product man, gotta grab one next payday!
Or I could mail ya my goggles so ya can throw a POV cam and one of these on them!
Thanks dude I appreciate the observation.
Love it.
The field I play at requires a hard lower mask - and after running a helmet, goggles, and a mesh mask.. there's a lot of straps that it takes a second to get the helmet on and off and has to be done a certain way. This is a great way to eliminate the extra strap while still giving you (mostly) full protection.
I’ve had no issues with any of the fields I go to as this covers the stuff they require, nose mouth.. and the mouth insert is hard.
Best mask I have ever owned and I have the dye i4, standard metal mesh, and the onetigris slim mask. The essentials mask blows all of those away by far.
Thanks for the endorsement your payment will be mailed to you in 2-4 weeks :)
@@BrainExploder please make payment in 88E stock
This is going to be highly affordable
Another awesome product! I’ve been using something very similar the past few years...I might have to check this out!!
This is so dope genuinely one of the best airsoft innovators out there. A larger profile one would be so cool too with that rubber flexible material for people who would like to protect more of their face.
Could be a variant down the line
please make a tan or multicam version this is honestly a revolutionary evolvement of face masks it looks much better and its made to be more ergonomic. With more camos and colors this could be widely sold to people looking to make specific loadouts like myself.
Welcome back. I'm loving the design. This mask has a close resemblance to a bionicle.
Lego Bionicle?
@@BrainExploder That's the one! I've always liked their mask design.
I'd love to see an attachment system for something like the ESS crossbows
Working on that now :)
Absolutely love this product. I don't run lower "mesh" products. But this is an amazing product for some!!!!!!
It's the mask for someone who wants all the comforts of not wearing one but is not ready to say goodbye to their teeth just yet.
Not only is that super convenient and effective, it looks freakin cool. I like the SOTR look ;) Badass my guy.
Thank you so much my guy.
Also works with Lancer Tactical Aero goggles! I can confirm! I just removed the vent pieces at the bottom!
Thanks for the info.
Great looking product and I'll consider buying one. My only suggestion/hope would be to lengthen the upper cheek part to go to the edge of the eye pro with another mounting point using the plungers. This, IMO would help protect the zygomatic bone area and help prevent a bb from hitting the skin and rolling up under and into eye pro (something I see a fair amount of on the field).
Thanks eventually there might be a more coverage version. I like to run a headsock underneath for extra comfort and slightly more protection.
@@BrainExploder I’d definitely be interested in a more coverage version! I think this is great but i agree it needs to have a little more cover in my opinion for the same reason from above.
I pitch my vote to that too
Agree. I have this product and I really like it. However, I wish I had a little more protection on the cheek (than a just a bacalava) that would stop before earpro. It could be thin so as to not interfere with one's cheek to the stock. As mention two other dumbbells could connect the extra protection to one's goggles.
This is not the intended mounting method, but I zip-tied this to my helmet chin strap, and it works incredibly well, especially if you're running shooting glasses or low-profile goggles.
This might be a 200iq move. is there pics or video?
Awesome product I will be investing in one soon 👏
Looks like a great product I have it on order now. Its solves my problem of wanting something sci fi looking but always hating the cheek weld of "one-piece" masks
Cheek weld is honestly my favorite part of it.
Outstanding! Will order one right away!
My mans
Yeah definitely having the ability to buy more dumbbells would be a good idea. After two milsims one broke and the other one is well on its way. I think it's a matter of rub damage from the edges of the goggles where they insert. The other piece is already split and has seemingly been cut into by the edge one layer deep. This is probably from the slight movement of the mask when using a drink tube and not being able to just pull it away since its attached to the goggles. I may poke a hole in either side and secure it with a strap to either side of the arc rail like my goggles are and what is shown in the video. Otherwise I cant imagine that the other two sets that come with the mask are gonna last much longer seeing as I've got at least 6 more milsims before the year is up.
I have the same problem. The dumbbells are really an Achilles' heel.
Mine just came in. Super excited to try it out. But It reminds me of samurai demon half masks. If you made one in that style I’d definitely buy another!
Wish this was more widespread. Such genius design. If only there was a different version that has one cheek protection, with option for either left or right.
Thank you for innovating instead of selling the same mesh lowers that everyone has been using for the last 10 years lol.
Thanks dude that’s my outlook on product design why make something that already exists unless you can make it better at the minimum.
Dude, this looks fantastic! I need to show this to the guys in my local airsoft group because this is amazing
I would appreciate that :)
Love this sport because even small time manufacturers can be big, and helpful!
As a guy that isn't very athletic trimming down unnecessary weight helps and the design is great for protecting the essentials, breathable, pushes breath away from your goggles so you don't fog i need it
I fogged through everything ever and this setup with the foam removed off the goggles outdoors is zero fog and I have 3 cams that get hot sitting on my forehead.
Ordered this mask and played out with it last weekend. Can confirm, it's awesome. I live in WI 75 degree weather and lost of running around. I paired this with Xaegistac Airsoft Goggles and they work just fine. My goggles only fogged up once during the day and that was when I had my head down while I was taking a breather after sprinting from one end of the field to the other, so more so my fault because of the way I was breathing. Whole set up is plenty comfortable, enough room to breathe just fine. 10/10 I even recommended this mask to several people when I overheard them talking about mask fogging.
Happy to hear this 👍
Best face protection I ever tried, very clever design.
I always had issues with fogging, not anymore with this product. I highly recommend it 😊 Works very well with Revision Wolfspider goggles
That is awesome to hear, thanks for sharing.
Anyway to extend the protection from the cheeks to jawline? Without compromising ADS, maybe use the same rubber.
where can I get more of the dumbbells connectors for the mask? I had lost some and torn some from heavy uses
Just ordered mine. ABout time someone made this thing. So many airsoft retailers overthink stuff.
That looks fantastic!
Thanks 🙏
Big thanks ! you're products helps a lot of players ! keep it up BrainExploder!
Thank you so much my dude.
do you have one that attaches to a balaclava instead of the goggles?
This is extremely well designed
Spent like a year tweaking it.
This looks awesome< however I notice with the Revision goggles there is that gap that is just big enough for a BB to sneak through, my current mask setup has this same issue, you might think the chances that a BB will sneak in there is really small, but it happens surprisingly often and stings like a m'afk, have the scars on my nose to prove it. That ESS fitment is superb looking though.
ESS definitely a better fit the foam heads do throw off the fit a little as they seem to be smaller than an avg human head and the mask hangs more than it would on most faces exhausting the gapping.
Hi! Could you tell me, if can I use headphones sorin supreme under this helmet (guerilla tactical)? I am not sure if the headphones can be put inside the helmet but I saw in one of your films that you did that, so I would be greatful for some opinion or information 😊
La proteccion pefecta, no he usado una mascara mas comoda y versatil que esta. Gracias bro. La uso con mis iss turbofan y son la pateja perfecta.
Yesssd 👍
Any plans on releasing a tan version?
This is cool mate, i may invest later down the line when sites reopen
Yeah no point of having one when there is nowhere to use it. Where do you live?
What size dumbell do I use for ess profiles? Please respond asap
Looks great.
Thanks!
Do you ship worldwide? Thanks
Love this mask! Wish I could attach it to my mframes
I was searching to 3d print a mask like this like a day ago with no success. I hope it will be available in my country.
Available worldwide right this moment
Will these fit on Valken sierra goggles?
Hi, can anyone tell me if it would work wearing a regular onetigris or similar facemask underneath this, rather than a balaclava? Reason being, I still want the check and ear protection (I like this mask because of the nose gap being covered)
That design is genius.
Thanks so much I am very happy with how it worked out and the users that have received theirs seem to be satisfied thus far.
How would you say the fog resistance is with a balaclava and a base ball cap in 70-90 degree weather? Just with no foam ess goggles.
I may eventually try it out if I ever get rid of my current mask.
We’ll be here
anybody know what other goggles work with this mask? i would love to know! thanks
Would this work with the Wiley X Spear goggles ?
I genuinely want to buy this now
I won't try to stop you.
hi there ..do you send to europe?
Thinking of doing a new head gear setup anyway, this will be perfect!!
Good timing
@@BrainExploder For sure! I've wondered for awhile when you were gonna release them officially. Pretty dope to see it up finally!
Took longer than anticipated but that’s the price of working with a manufacturer but the upside is that it’s a professional finished product.
@@BrainExploder For sure man! Im excited to see it out on the field with more people!
What helmet and headset is that? I can't get a good helmet setup going. Thanks!
Helmet is a standard FAST style bump and the headset is a howard leigh sp?
I could use some help, I'm getting one of these but I just don't know what I should put them on. I have a pretty crummy valken goggles, I'm planning in getting ither ESS turbofans or just ESS plane's without the foam. Any recommendations?
But I have also heard alot of bad abt the turbofans plus its SO expensive. But I fog alot and play in humid environments and just don't know if plane ones will cut it. I plan on wearing it with a hat and some earmors also.
I had turbo fans and I didn't see a huge benefit also for me they made a ton of noise on the gopro which was a killer. Regular ESS goggles with the foam removed work really well when paired with this mask.
@@BrainExploder thanks, but I have I more question I ended up getting some ess nvg profiles, and I ordered one and I was wondering witch size dumbell I should use?
Also you should try the xfog system I think you would really like the system, it's made by a fellow airsofter and it's a pretty small company but his product is amazing.
@@hayman1222 I find the medium size one fits best.
@@BrainExploder yeah, I tired the small and it just wouldn't fit but the middle was perfect. I love it.
New to airsoft. Trying not to break tje bank. Is there a more economical goggle this would be good with? Great vidoe btw!
Lots of ESS profiles and Revision Desert Locusts available on eBay for $20-$30 new military surplus.
Should work with most large goggles, some just might need a vent hole added to run the dumbbell attachment through, this can be done with a hot iron or a heated up piece of metal, just please be careful.
Always innovating bro!
I'm excited for this one
Thanks my guy hope it fits you well.
4:09 *Where can I get that bb shooting mask??*
anyway to get it in the UK without having to pay the $20 shipping fee? i usually wouldn't mind but the $20 shipping fee for a $30 product doesn't sit right with me
I was about to order one but i notice a gap .. in the upper nose.. can bbs get into that gap?
Im in canada , $40 us is $50 cad, 20 us ship is 28 cad.. so it comes to almost $80.. :/
There is a minimal gap on the Revision goggles which gives a small chance of a BB getting in and not without slowing down as it frictions against the goggles and mask but the ESS goggles form no gap.
How long would this take (roughly) to ship to Florida?
3-5 days
would this mask also work with the rothco otg goggles?
Looking at photos it seems very doable.
I very much appreciate that this looks like a BRAND NEW product to the airsoft market that actually serves a particular purpose, as opposed to the usual "this is MY version of the M4/Glock" people usually "make".
I only make stuff to fill a need that has not been filled. And I was not fully happy with any of the options out there at the moment.
Just got mine in and can confirm that it integrates with the Smith Optics Turbo Fan. My only complaint, and this is more something that I just need to figure out, not really a design flaw, doesn't mesh too well with beards as it pushes the lower part away a bit. May need to attach something to the lower end to secure it in place but that still allows for quick detach. More testing needed. Will get back to you.
Thank you for the feedback, I suppose you probably have that issue with any lower with a big beard?
@@BrainExploder so with a little more playing around with it I found that it wasnt really the beard. I assumed that it was based off the fact that it was resting on it. It seems to simply push itself out to that particular resting point on its own. Sort of at the mid point that you'd have it between on your face and raised up to take a drink. Pushing the lower part back down allows the nose piece to sit well with the goggles but after a minute or so it pushes itself back out. A fix Im thinking of is putting a small hole in the nose piece to attach a smaller dumbbell to that way its got one more attachment point on the goggles. That seems like it would fix it. I will add that im using the larger dumbbells as the main retention as it didn't look like the smaller ones would reach. So this might be the one difference between the Smiths and ESSs and could be why it's doing it. I'll fiddle around with it some more and get back to you.
@@BrainExploder figured it out. On mine, and maybe it's across the board for these particular goggles, the rubber, or whatever material it is, that makes up the nose piece was covering up the final hole that the foam covers. It made it appear like there wasn't a hole there so I didn't even bother trying. It was only after coming back to the video that I realized where had yours attached to that I went back to see if I could find it. Had to cut into the rubber as well as the foam to get to it. Maybe the overlap is just how it normally comes or I just happened to get the one screw up of the bunch.
@@BrainExploder so update after taking it to 5 milsims, one of the dumbbells broke. No idea what happened, was just running around during Copperhead and it snapped. Would be useful to be able to just buy those.
@@Stew_PidWere you able to get a fix for your issue? Just bought this mask a few days ago.
Just got mine, using them with desert locusts, Any idea how to get it to sit as closer to the face as possible? thanks
Try the shorter dumbbells or move to the closer hole on the underside.
I like this idea.! I been looking for something like that.!
It’s $40.!
there is any discount available 😁😁😁?
We will probably do some sort of sale in the future right now we are trying to recoup the costs of designing/manufacturing these b

Thanks my friend.
Would this work with the ESS Influx Goggle Terrain Goggles? Or almost any ESS goggles or specifically just the profile?
Did you ever find out?
@@ragnarok400 no ;-;
Do one for yhe pyramex i force
That's actually great
How is the compatibility with ESS Influx goggles?
Works, Ive seen someone do use the in conjunction.
Do you have anything for ballistics? I dont use gogs
You mean slim glasses? I just attached this mask to my ess crossbows helo kit
Has anybody tried this with the smith optics otg turbofan?
I’m hyped about this, except I hate goggles. If you can make this work with full seal glasses then I’m sold!
If you are willing to poke 2 holes in the full seal gasket I just added one to my ESS CrossBows basically same as M Frames.
@@BrainExploder yo bet
Check out my Instagram I posted a pic of it.
Would like to have this in desert style
좋은정보 감사합니다.
Would this work with guard dog evader 2s and ess land ops?
Probably would work on the Guard Dogs but you would have to manually add a hole on the underside as I see no vents in the pics.
@@BrainExploder oh
I really like the concept of this, but I'd like better mounting options, and I'm concerned with it fitting with other goggles, considering it was designed for use with a specific set of goggles.
ESS Profiles are best if you don't mind larger goggles, especially with the Pivot helmet mount it is a comfy setup.
Do you think about making it for smith optic otw ?
This should fit them.
This would look cool if your going for a darth vader approach
A good reason to bring a lightsaber to the field
Will these work on the novritch goggles?
Works with most full sized goggles.
So can I use it with the smith optics turbo fan?
I believe you can, the OTW variant is very similar to the Revisions and ESS goggles.
Not sure anyone is still gonna reply to comments here, but this thing keeps flipping ass up. The nose piece drops towards my face and th bottom shoots upward, rendering the item useless. Is there a fix for this? I'm using Revision Desert Locusts, which are one of the two goggles the brand reccomends.
Airsoft Players:Mine!
Very nice
Thanks my dude you wanna try it out?
@@BrainExploder Thanks bro, but I'm used to my usual glasses and mask.
