- A walkthrough of the showroom at the 2023 Oklahoma Taxidermy Association’s Convention and Competition!
There was 126 entries and as you can see, a HUGE variety of species!
Thank you to OKTA for allowing me to film the showroom sans people. And for hosting an amazing show!
Also, cover photo is the beautiful tamandua by Amberly Ortiz, thank you for letting me use the pic for the cover!
She makes taxidermy look super easy❤
Ol Jordan just sitting there staring intently at his duck for like 5 min 😂
Love that anteater
That little anteater is a Tamandua, they are a closely related to Giant Anteater except they are primarily found in dense forest floors or along the treeline
That’s it! I was told a million times but that name will not stick in my brain lol. That beautiful tamandua was made by Amberly Ortiz, Modern Momento taxidermy!
Them nice mounts my dads been doing it for 20 years his work look great too I do little now and again
The snow leopard was so beautiful 😮
I love the doe drinking from the barrel idea it looks like a really cool idea.
Awesome!
6:16 WOW
I like the gamecock. Looks like a Roundhead, true game cuts deep and fast.
Every mount is amazing but the aoudad at 5.50 wins it for me
Thanks Ashley for sharing this video, which mount or mounts did you compete with?
I know I told you already, but to answer here, I had the sneaking whitetail at the end of the video! 😀
07:17 🔥
The little creature is a tamandua anteater
Some of these look like they could move any second.
The reptiles and fish!!! I didn't know you could taxidermy something that wasn't fur!
You can taxidermy anything if you put your mind to it (except people)
do you have an entry?
I did! I have the sneaking whitetail towards the end of the video, next to the lifesize white deer
@@ashleyeve that's a very good mount, not to mention a huge deer. Did you harvest it or is it a customers?
is the competition over? how did you do?
7:12 that looks like a scimitar horned oryx! They used to be extinct in the wild
I'm going to need s little bit for information, cause there was a baby pig, and ostrich, and a snow leopard which is illegal to hunt 😅
It might have come from a zoo that died naturally, it happens sometimes.
@@iridiumSerpent Oh that makes sense, I didn't think of that.
