DIY Skeleton Planter | halloween decor/how to make a plant stand

- HIYA!
It's spooky season so I made some spooky home decor...that will stay up year round! I took a skeleton and turned it into a planter, this can me made for real plants too! I just struggle with keeping real plants alive so I figured fake plants was the way to go!

Measurements/Products
Skeleton - 5ft - purchase at Walmart! Can also find one at home depot, amazon and probably any halloween store!
Planter Pot- 10" x10" - purchased at Walmart! Since it was the end of summer I got it on clearance for under $10!
Pot stand - 22" tall - made with 1"x2" plank of wood from home depot!
Overall height - 44"
Fake Plants - Michaels/ Dollarama
Foam- Dollarama

I actually found you bc someone linked this on reddit for house plants and I'm completely in love. I have an obsession with skulls and I hoard any skull thing during Halloween because that's the only time that they appear lol! I've purchased some dope glass skull pieces from the dollar store over the years. Glass skull shot glasses, skull glass mason jars! And other stuff! Your taste is just *chefs kiss. Gonna binge your videos now.

Only problem is the plants are fake, but not everyone has a green thumb ;-) Definitely making one, thanks for the how-to!

@@jessiflaherty_ OMG I just looked up skeletons on amazon and they're $80. Might have to wait until Halloween. 😥 As for plants, give pothos a try, they're usually available at grocery stores, really hardy and can take quite a bit of neglect from new plant moms 😉 (Can you DM on youtube? Cause I'd totally just mail you some cuttings from my plants, I have way too many!!)

I think I might make 2 of these but give them that stone look or maybe that corpse look, & make them into real flower pots.

I saw this idea online last year after Halloween when there weren't skeletons to be found. Lol
However this year I am so doing this. I started propagating some of my pothos plants a few weeks ago so they will be ready to go by the time I get the skeletons. Can't wait!!!!
P.s. yours does look nice and won't become overgrown like mine probably will. Lol

overall height is about 3.6ft tall and i found the pot at walmart!

What size was the skeleton? When looking for one full size means different things apparently 🤦🏻♀️

id just have it in my house not halloween
I love this design aesthetic, however, that plant stand would not support the weight of a real plant that size with just wood glue holding the cross section together.
oh ya, it would definitely need more than just wood glue, but since I used fake plants it’s more than sturdy enough to hold it all!
