The War Memorial in Dras, also known as the Kargil War Memorial, is a tribute to the Indian soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War in 1999. Located in the town of Dras in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir, this memorial stands as a solemn reminder of the bravery and valor of the Indian Armed Forces. Inaugurated on July 26, 2000, it features a central sandstone wall with the names of the fallen soldiers inscribed on it, along with a large Indian flag that waves proudly. The memorial also includes a museum that showcases artifacts, photographs, and stories from the war, offering visitors a glimpse into the heroism displayed during the conflict.
