    I'll be posting the full Albany show eventually. Very dark stage, dramatic lighting on the cymbals, challenging but worthwhile video images. The live sound was some of the best I've heard. We were able to capture it fairly well. RUclips lossy compression never helps. I'm so glad to see Deerhoof getting better live documentation lately. I understand from Greg that DH had live video done professionally recently. We'll see, but guerrilla video still rulez.

  • @PhilipManiaci
    @PhilipManiaci  11 лет назад

    Thanks! The sound we got from the soundboard got really weird so we used the sound from the mic on the camera in the wide shot. It sounds a bit better in 720p if you haven't done that already.

    This is still well above the average sound quality for a live concert post. I know how hard that is to capture. I think this is quite good, one of the better overall for DH. Of course the real live sound is always better but mic placement and board feeds are what they are.

  • @PhilipManiaci

    No sorry. I do have the whole People Get Ready set in the wide shot. I'll probably edit that together soon. Had to make sure we had enough battery and memory space for the Deerhoof set so we didn't film everything from the concert.

  • @jaybone23

    I know young drummers think Greg Saunier is God, but I can't stand watching him. It makes me uncomfortable, like dealing with Tourette's or something that's physically wrong. My guess is Greg LOVES that reaction though cuz he clearly cannot help himself and he enjoys it, so it's ultimately a wash.

    •  9 лет назад +3

      Who cares !!! Music is great.

    • @tbonesviddyzone
      @tbonesviddyzone 9 лет назад +1

      what you dislike about him has nothing to do with his playing ability. he's a pretty fantastic drummer.

    • @jaybone23
      @jaybone23 9 лет назад

      Ty Hunt- No doubt, he's a particularly inventive musician, but I get the impression he's not breathing right...or something. I played drums for several years before I realized that I wasn't breathing correctly as I played. I had to relearn how to concentrate on my breathing while also thinking about limb independence, etc.

    This concert was "mixed" by Greg Saunier, the drummer. What a surprise. The drums are FAR TOO LOUD! What a shame 'cos thats the only thing wrong with this concert.

    • @PhilipManiaci
      @PhilipManiaci  9 лет назад +6

      warmswarm No actually the Brooklyn show was mixed by Greg. This one we sadly had to use the on board mic from one of the cameras because of difficulties from the sound booth.
