I drove the Ferrari 296 GTB at Sonoma Raceway 2 days ago and was freaked out by the acceleration. A lot faster than the Huracan I drove with them 4 months ago. C8 ZR1 is going to dominate everything.
It would be cool to see a fully track oriented version of the C8 Corvette. Light weight chassis, carbon-fiber body panels & wheels, C8 Z06 track suspension, C8 E-Ray hybrid system, C8 ZR1 engine, gutted interior, with even more aggressive aero (possibly active aero).
So, a Zora. I'd like to see what one would look like without the super long gearing. Just take the ZR1 ZTK and have it geared for a top speed of 225 in 8th gear.
Funny how you didn’t chose to compare your 750S to the ZR1 and and instead chose the 296. Also, a few of your facts are incorrect. It’s almost impossible to drain the hybrid battery on that car even in “Qualifying” mode. I’m not saying it can’t be depleted to 40% but it builds up immediately just like most other performance hybrid vehicles and just wanted to point that out because you make it sound like it will be a constant issue or something, which is ridiculous
@@hasangenc2922 the Plaid Track Pack is faster around The Ring than the F90 BMW M5 CS. Talk all you want about charging, but the car can make it's way around a track just fine.
And the Porsche if you could get one you would have to get on a list if you were a previous owner two times you could then pay a base price of $300,000 so to me there's no other conclusion. And to be honest I wouldn't want the Porsche over this even if I could get one. But then if you live in Europe you're going to probably want the Porsche even if you could get the Corvette so c'est La vie 😏
While the 296 is down a couple hundred horsepower, it is also down a few hundred pounds, and the hybrid powertrain helps fill in the power at the low end and between shifts. The 750S is even further down on power, but makes up for it by shedding another few hundred pounds over the 296. Regardless though, the ZR1 overcomes its weight disadvantage with sheer power and grip. The new Temerario will be out soon enough with even more power than the 296, but given that it weighs more than the ZR1 it will probably struggle to keep up, much like the Revuelto and the SF90.
Leave it to vette fanboys to compare cars that have a 200hp difference. What a joke you guys are. Compare it to the SF90. Even then the SF90 replacement will dog walk EVERYTHING and I say this as a lambo fanboy.

More vettes are made EACH YEAR than 296’s in total through the entire production cycle though. No GM hate, my Escalade V is the favorite SUV in my garage over my G63, Urus and Purosangue.
They need to stop calling the corvette cheap and calling the other cars overpriced because thanks to the corvette the other cars aren’t worth it. They have prestigious names but they are prestigious in name only if they can’t keep up.

I think you mean the 458. The SF90 is a hybrid, and the ZR1 is not, plus a larger displacement. The 5.5 liter V8 used is from the Z06, which was reversed engineered from the 458.

C8 ZR1 will cost at least 150k... if you are lucky. A more realistic guess is around 200k or more... Much more expensive than a Tesla Model S Plaid but not as quick!
Straight line. The Plaid is very impressive. Even does a single lap OK. Would last a few laps. Those poor tires fighting the inertia from the 1 ton battery pack.
From 700 hp it is difficult to get performance increases that are perceptible by the driver, in scales of 800 hp and 1000 hp a difference of 200 is irrelevant even in track conditions, especially when the weight-power ratio is very similar in both cars. Still if you say that it is unfair to compare a 150k car with a 350k one when the 150k has better performance than the other, I can only think that it is unfair for ferrari to compare its 2.9L v6 with the chevy 5.2L v8

Just a reminder Motortrend and the mags all give times with 1ft rollout. Actually time from say a default Dragy setup will be .2-.3 seconds slower.

With the Z06 sometimes hitting 160k, the ZR1 will surely be in the low to mid 200's starting MSRP. But we all know dealers will be adding 100k easy.

Tesla Model S Plaid, Lucid Saphire, Porche Taycan GT for a few ceconds, and Demon 170 on E85 all have 1000hp.
