- Live at Eden Hal in Amsterdam, Holland, 1976.
Sadly, it's not the full concert, and originally ends after Superstar... But I have added Rainy Days and Mondays and Goodbye to Love (available in audio only) to finish off the Hits Medley.
It's September 2020 who's still listening to the greatest female singer of all time ?
It's May of 2021 and I'm still listening and always will ❤
RIP Karen, you are missed more than you know
It’s January 2022, still listening to beautiful Karen and always will!
Today it is 21th of may 2022 year and I with great pleasure listen most wonderful, amasing and charming voice of her - The Best Female Singer - Caren Carpenter!!!!!!!! Her bright Star burnes and shines brighter and stronger nowaday in 21 sentury!!!
Still listening on August 1st 2022…
Me always
I'M STILL LISTENING AND ITS NOVEMBER 15, 2023 AND YOU JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS ANGELIC VOICE!!
Beautiful Karen Carpenter sang like an Angel! There is no one like her. Greatest female pop singer in history! My favorite singer ever!
I am here in May 2024. Although I heard the Carpenters in the 70s as a teenager I am just now learning more about them and the amazing music prodigies they BOTH were. Never even knew how great Karen was also on the drums. I am sad like all that her life was cut short... but she did a great deal and touched so many in the years she was here and we can still enjoy these concerts and her soothing voice. They both had quite a legacy.. I ache for Richard who must miss her every day. Glad he has a family...
Karen was a "Classic" without being born decades ago. She died at 32, which was my age at the time. I was stunned, especially when I heard why. What a loss for those of us who loved her dearly.
This concert was at an indoor ice skate hall in Amsterdam where a lot of famous artists held their concerts: Abba,Bob Marley,Marvin Gaye,ACDC,van Halen,Fleetwood Mac and the Carpenters and many more. My daughter gets there figure skate lessons today!
And don't forget Olivia Newton-John in 1978! One of Karen's best friends btw 😊
It's 2024 and I still listening to Karen! 👍👍👍👍👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely the best sounding performance I've ever heard of the carpenters. This had to be in the absolute peak.
What a beautiful voice, and excellent diction. I'm appreciating her voice even more now. One of a kind voice!
loved their music and saw them about 4 to 5 times in and around southern california!!
So to fun to meet her at our dentist office in Downey in October 1976....we spoke for a little a while before she came in and i had just left!! She was so nice to me at 24 years old and she was so cute in person!! such a great memory!!!!!
Oh my that is wonderful!!!
青春の良い思い出を作られた事を祝福いたします。
後追いでベストアルバムを入手した若き日のカーペンターズの活躍を体感していない者には夢のようなお話しです。
It's 2023 and I still adore the voice and the person of Karin. She was/is the best.
Thanks for sharing this❤❤❤ Love it
I wish Karen loved herself, as much as we all loved her! 💓
you just can't take your eyes off of her. she makes me feel like a 5 year old glued onto the teachers every move and word. amazing woman.
Yes! Exactly! I was only a couple of years older than that when they 1st starred and that's how I still feel.I thought and still do that something must be wrong with me.Ha! I guess it is the talent and the voice that puts us in that space. Thanks! I'm not alone.
She puts most listeners into a trance, doesn't she? I've seen it countless times in their reaction videos.
The most beautiful female voice I have ever heard, just unbelievable. She sings like an Angel, wish I could have seen her live.
I didn't get to see them live either, but I gave myself many a concert in my mama and daddy's livingroom. I set that album up in a chair and listened and sang along;
You know the one, Karen in beautiful white dress. Mr. Guder was on that album.😊
I grew up listening to the Carpenters. I idolized Karen. She has the voice of an angel.
Me too!
Me too
Yo estoy fascinado con ella
She had a voice of a goddess no one has ever sounded like her again beautiful Karen. She was as good on the drums as Buddy Rich
IMHO, she was better than the other drummer from this concert.
You could easily see she was truly in
her element on the drums.
I will never get tired of listening to the great voice of Karen Carpenter.
Me neither. Love her voice
Same here
I thought that Stevie Nicks she's got a good voice but I never hear Karen Carpenter her voice. I fell in love with her voice
@@shannondowney4068 me too her voice is like so beautiful i can't explain.so soft that make you fall in love with her voice
CARPENTERS plain & simple were GIFTED & ANOINTED & ORDAINED by God to impact a Nation & Society at a time of Dark Evil Turmoil dividing America > CARPENTERS Shot Up like a METEOR by God's Hand (15 Mega Hits & 20+M Sales in just 1st 4 yrs.) still a Record today 2021 & they needed to Recognize that Divine Gift & God's Agenda & Seek God's Presence to GUIDE them > Not HOLLYWOOD guiding them.
So great The Carpenters did this great concert in my country The Netherlands and it was recorded!! You can see the fantastic personalities of Karen and Richard in a live show. This is a jewel to cherish! RIP Karen we miss you so much 😭
Superstar is one of those songs that never should have been cut down and shoved into a medley. It's one of the ten greatest ballads of the entire rock era--and one of Karen's finest performances (and that's saying something). The earlier clips of her singing the entire song (as in the BBC concert) are Karen a her very best.
What else can I say that hasn't been said already? I agree with all the comments! Why? Why did God have to take her away from us so soon???
they did the same with yesterday once more and i wont last a day without you
Absolutely Angelic! Karen and Richard's talent and love for music and for people is so remarkable. I listen to their music often and cry.
She was at her happiest beating on her drums, quite good and very radiant!!!!!!
The most enchanting singer, ever. My heart melts each time I listen to her.
Karen could sing with such passion and emotion. She could make you smile or cry. Simple,
AMAZING!!!!!
What a personality Karen had. She was so cute when she ran out into the audience. She would’ve made a fantastic actress ugh so sad :(

Yes! My favorite part of the show is Karen going into the audience.I love her comedy and facial expressions! She could of done comedy for sure! What a great personality and smile! Karen the Drummer, Bass player, great dancer and the best voice I have ever heard. So much talent and a nice person to boot!
There backing band is unbelievable !!! All the instruments -Vocals ...
It’s like combining Chicago -The Beach Boys-topped off with Karen’s perfect Voice and Richard’s Direction.
Lots of hard work ... and well done!
Still not in Rock n Roll Hall of Fame !! Why?
Timothy Arts probably they don’t consider her rock n roll
The Carpenters are above that.
The Carpenters don't need R&RHOF, theybwere famous and known around the world. R&RHOF is a big trash. So many great, legend and iconic singers from then and now but they were never recognized by the garbage R&RHOF. 💪💪💪
Getting into the R&R&HOF is all about
“clout” and who you know!!!
Just Sayin!!
The absolute best. No question
Karen was awsome. There's really never been anyone like her since. She was something very very rare that comes along once or twice in a lifetime.
Family carpenter is my family.
Yeah she really is something to see.Hoping future generations keep her music alive like Bing and all the greats.
Wow!! It looks like they had a blast in Holland. Never seen Karen and Richard like this. Karen’s interaction with the audience was really incredible and endearing!
A true class act of humility, one of many wonderful characteristics that described this beautiful lady. ❤
My parents were there, really! Been looking if I could see them in the audience.
I wasn't even born ;) Though not long after I got conceived haha. So maybe.. just maybe... This concert was a cause of that ;)
I do admit... I love the Carpenters..
That's such a cute story. I know exactly when I conceived my Son. I give him a present each year since it's in the Spring and he was born in the Winter.
Her voice is a portal to heaven
I was at their concert in Birmingham, England, a few days later, an absolutely unforgettable experience.
Karen was amazing. What a voice and personality. Even learned a bit of Dutch. Funny to hear that.
She was fantastic like that. Apparently, when they toured Japan, she employed a language coach to not only teach her phrases of the language she could use to communicate with fans, but also how to vary the accent in the different dialects as they moved from city to city.
What an amazing band of musicians with the Carpenters!
Yes! Very talented band and professional. So awesome to watch!
That Karen Carpenter... such a wonderful singer whether live or on records... which is rare. Not to say; most probably the first female fantasic drummer of all times!!! Multiple thanks for posting !
always loved her voice but my favorite part is Karen having fun on her drums. She's in our hearts. rip dear lady
In the 1976 London concert, she shined on "Strike Up The Band", and with that performance on percussion, complete with prerecorded cannon fire, Karen and Richard and his band seemed to do "America's Bicentennial Salute" on this long-revered George Gershwin favorite. Also - It seems like Karen's drumming itself in that song seemed to be as spectacular as an American fireworks display.
@Scott Jordan The drummer who sang but she surely warmed to the front stage to sizzle!
The greatest singer and drummer to date, and forever!💙
Karen had such an angelic voice- and Richard was very talented in his own right! What a great group!
Beauty and talent ... Karen had them both.
She was very special to me.
Carpenters MAGIC!!!👏👏👏👏👍
Carpenters: Forever in my life, forever in my heart...
How I love Karen... I even like how she told off Richard during "sing"... "Get over it..." LOVE it!
I don't believe I've ever heard Karen sing Superstar so sensually and emotionally as this, incredible performance, thank you for posting Billy.
Fantastic! Wow. No flashing lights, pyrotechnics, or gyrating dancers! Just great live singing. Who would have thought this is how it used to be when it was just super talent on the stage. Thanks for the video.
I wish they would put this Amsterdam show on dvd.I love when she goes into the crowd! Thanks for posting this. I come back often to watch this great performance.
Grew up listening to the Carpenters. Love their music now as much as then. Such a heavenly voice and music.
I liked the Classic voice karen Carpenters..including my father and my sisters...family as well.. is so nice to hear..decades decades will past Carpenters still good sounds worldwide...
Karen....i still miss you....you were such an amazing lady and singer...THE NUMBER ONE IN HEAVEN....
I grew up listening to Richard & Karen, radio, my Realistic Stereo Turntable with the Singles 1969-73 playing on auto repeat. It would be an awesome experience just to meet Richard and converse about his life experiences. I’m sure he’s a grandpa like myself, with all the grandeur he has, I’m positive his grandkids make his life complete.
If everyone of us seeing these two @ all times ….
They are so magnificent.
The Carpenters (officially known as Carpenters[a]) were an American vocal and instrumental duo consisting of siblings Karen (1950-1983) and Richard Carpenter (born 1946). They produced a distinct, soft, musical style, combining Karen's contralto vocals with Richard's harmonizing, arranging, and composition skills. During their 14-year career, the Carpenters recorded 10 albums along with numerous singles and several television specials.
Goat nobody will ever come close to her beautiful voice and so cute i miss her deeply listen to her music every day and loved them when i was school im 65 now love you Karen
Thank You once again Billy for all of the magic of The Carpenters that you find for us.We really do appreciate all of your hard work keeping The Carpenters legacy Alive!
Thank you for this! It's like she's reborn again because of youtube!
@Karen Rose To the world's delight, KC is still alive.
It's a true blessing! She lives on in our hearts. 💙
Just continue to miss her!!
The greatest performer ever! Wow! Incredible! Karen Anne
i heard she was very shy and was scared to come in front and leave the drums. but she became an amazing frontwoman. if she didnt have the greatest voice of the 20th century, maybe she would have stayed behind the drums. whatever karen did, she was amazing. too bad she and the carpenters ended the way they did, because for vioce was getting better and better. ive suffered from mental illness for years, if it wasnt from listening to keren singing, i would be dead a long time ago.
I know I can't be the only person still watching this in 2021!
Kal...stai liniștită, oamenii au urmărit și vor urmări veșnic acest grup unic al secolului XX!!!
I like Mr Guder and its 2024 by the way
I have re-falling in love with Karen and Richard the Carpenters Music thanks for all the postings and utube.
Singing seemed so effortless to her.
The transition from Don't be Afraid to Sing is amazing. That note!!!!!
She wants to play the. Drums but she got the voice to sing. My opinion she sings to dam good.she a angel
What an entertaining concert! The perfect match of Schtick, featured showmanship, interspersed with their hit ballads. We'll worth the price of admission whatever it was. Thanks for posting.
Yes! Skits and music. It's like being at one of their great t.v. specials.
Aww..what a shame, to miss the epic video footage of the one and only IMMORTAL Tony Peluso... Rest in Peace Tony!!
I (we) saw those two in concert in Tahoe in before 1976 so fine all my best memories!
...your sweet guitar....it's just the radio..........love it all!
Cool! I wish I had, but I was just a kid.💙
Carpenters always the best band!!
+Tom rg But, could Richard be any more straight up and down and stiff?
te amo carpenters cantar dom Deus minha diva

I'm
The Carpenters forever! Karen forever!
Respect ... she elevates our race with every breath she sings. Respect for all and every race she lifts us all up this then human phenom.
Applause and admiration from Brazil!
Eles merecem.
Melhor banda
This version of "I Need to Be in Love" might be my favorite ever. Just beautiful. Thanks for posting.
That was Karen's favorite of all their songs.
You will always have friends who will unconditionally love you , Karen. ❤
It seems quite impossible that a girl (Karen) so full of spirit and sense of humour, so funny, so shiny, so graciously 'dominating' the stage taking fixed on herself the eyes of everyone in the public, could have such a disease in her soul...
No one seems so far from being a problematic person than her!!
Love Karen!!!
My favorite singer of all time
December 12, 2023-she is still the best there ever has been!❤❤
This made me smile especially the "Sing" part. I love KC!
Karen Carpenters. I luv her sweet lovely voice. I remember the song Close To You. The time my grandama gone. 1970..
Lived there, I was 16 years old, wished I at least see them in concert, hopefully one day in heaven!
I understand singing and music I sang this is a singer none of the crap you hear today
This song is soooo beautiful makes me feel to cry
She sings like an angel, of course. But I'd love to see her playing drums all the time!!!!
Fantástico!!!!!!!!...eles eram muito bons!!!!!!
Thanks for the post! RIP lovely lady...
Karen is so cute here. What a tremendous talent she was and so was Richard.
Thanks so much Billy. Seems her voice got even better and more nuanced as she got older.
Her performance here of "I need to be in love" is just breathtaking. So often, her live performances of songs are almost indistinguishable from the recorded version and this is one of the rare occasions she veers away from the studio version and goes slightly off-script, in the best possible way, emphasising the words slightly differently and creating an absolutely magical experience.
Ughhh yeah, in her ripe old age of 26 😯
That lucky stiff at 12:50! WOW!! Karen, you're so sweet and clear, but you're not really here, it's just the radio. 😣😢
Yeah really lucky.Suprised she was not mobbed!
Karen was a fantastic drummer.
Absolutely!!
a melhor banda, igual aos beatles, as maiores do universo e das galáxias...............
I CRIED MY EYES OUT WHEN I HEARD KAREN HAD DIED. I CRY NOW WHEN I HEAR HER VOICE AGAIN. SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUT AND OF COURSE HER VOICE WAS HEAVENLY. IN MY HEART SHE WAS SO INNOCENT AND PRECIOUS. WE WANT TO SAY, WHY WAS SHE TAKEN SO SOON. BUT WE KNOW IT'S NOT OUR DECISION. SO I WILL PLAY HER MUSIC AND REMEMBER HOW SHE MADE ME FEEL. GOODBYE, KAREN.
Wonderful!!!!
No Orher words..... Just Legend! thats all
The way that people come and go, through temporary lives....
She wasn’t even introduced. Only Mr. Richard Carpenter. Karen was the star of the act.
It's me here, when I was a kid l could sing songs of Carpenters
Thank you for posting.
I've tasted it when i was high school in Korea. Now 32 years in New York countryside.
Re-discovering carpenter's
Like finding lost treasure!
Karen was the most beautiful girl/woman in history. Her drumming and singing is that of an Angel. How she did that as a very young woman is a total mystery, leading me to believe she actually was an angel. Karen, I will absolutely love you forever ❤️. Brother Richard, the wind beneath her wings, you were and are still the best, thank you forever for providing Karen with the only music, stage, and platform worthy of her talents! Brother, you are THE BEST. 🎉 ❤
楽しいライブですね😃✌️
リチャードさんはスタイルの良いハンサムボーイでしたね。
マイクを向けられたお客さんがうらやましいです。
She was nice looking. Talented. Famous. Millionaire. But it was not enough.
Sad . When Karen died the angels cried out HERE COMES OUR LEAD SINGER.
I wish she could have lived longer in this earth❤
Love the video's. Doesn't anybody know their song's were about both of their life's. So cool. Song's by them played at my wedding in 1979.😊
Thanks for putting this up. Great musical intro, yeah, keep them waiting to hear that golden voice. I love it.
This music in this concert had nearly everything but the kitchen sink, combining the hard rock you see from groups like Queen all the way to the Barry White Disco orchestra to regular classical music fare - and in between, the easy listening songs the Carpenters were known for years for......
so theres a piano at my dads retirement home. im playing, and broke into yesterday once more. my brother said: no way! the carpenters! the carpenters will last for ever
Classic voice..i like it
11:19 - I see the reel-to-reel tape machine on stage. These tape machines were the bomb in the 1970s, especially early 1970s, and the 1960s too!!!
21:08 - I see that Karen changed to the character Sandra Dee in their homage to the movie "Grease" in that concert, that was released in 1976, featuring John Travolta and of course, Olivia Newton-John. They changed the name of Rydell High School to "Central High School", but it is still a good "Grease" throwback here. :) :)
The Grease movie was filmed in 1977 ,a year after this concert. The stage production of Grease had been playing since 1971.
I enjoyed this very much. It was roughly the same format of the concert I went to at The London Palladium all those years ago, where an album was recorded live. Happier days sigh!
Frances Smith wow that’s awesome what was it like
she looks great here, so happy
