@@Ali-vc5yd I think you have to remember he is huge in China, with a population of over a Billion people, Russia, with over 150 million, and his work in Kazakhstan, not to mention other non Western nations. I also can't understate his vocal talent.
@@wintersweeter I do take vocal talent into consideration though as one of the criteria, so it is not just most influential. Greatness implies both skill and success. Someone who has influence and success may not be 'great' depending on how they got there. And someone who is highly skilled (even the most in the world) without achievements is hard to call 'great'. Yet it is neither one in isolation, but both that add up.
Again, this I can wholly agree with especially MJ, Dimash, Freddy, Stevie Wonder and Mick Jagger. Where Dimash sits at only age 26 and considering where he was three years ago and not yet well known in the West at the moment, I believe he will rise into the stratosphere in years to come. He's such an enormous talent, dedicated, hard working guy with boundless energy. His live vocals and stage presence is phenomenal. Eagerly awaiting Part 3, cheers!👍💗😁👏🇦🇺 P.S. He's on his way to obtaining his Doctorate, which at his age, blows my mind 🤯

I like his Igor Krutoy pieces: Know, Love of Tired Swan, Love Like A Dream, Ogni Pietra/Olimpico, Passione, Sinful Passion. These, in my opinion, can only be brought to their true masterpiece level by Dimash.
@@k.vn.k I love Know, Hyde and Olimpico, but other than that prefer his Kazakh, Chinese and even English songs, like I Will Never Breathe Again. And SOS of course - it will always be there on top. Sinful Passion isn't Krutoy, by the way, it's A Studio. I don't like the song, especially the original version, although of course what Dimash did with it is phenomenal, and the song is beyond recognizable, I still can't bring myself to really love it compared to the others I mentioned.

Good call on Dimash. While his abilities and technique are at never before seen levels, he is still very young. Michael and Freddie have influenced millions of singers, but in due time, Dimash will be there as well!!

I'm a Dimash fan but I give a thumbs up for the list. Dimash still has a lot of work to do to overtake the 2 legends (eventhough vocally he's second to none). I think right now he's a legend in the making.
Hopefully the world will acknowledge him soon. Plus, he needs no 1 hits. He's not into mainstream music so it will be harder. But hey, even Bohemian Rhapsody didn't become no 1 right away.

I agree that Dimash still has a lot of work in terms of getting world wide, but that's just his beginning. There is no live or dead singer, better vocally and technically than him. And he is just 26. I can't wait to see his future. People will get better at singing after dimash he deffently changed the game no more avoiding using all the registers no excuses we will prob see many vocalist getting more power in a wide range soon and using more tones.

Im a big fan of MJ and freddie but im gonna agree with you in terms of vocals for me he surpass all the great artist and for sure he will slowly climb to the peak and pray that nothing goes wrong.
Dimash’s vocal abilities and his phenomenon are more than just a classification. No one can approach him with the technique of singing.

Great tier list! Even if Dimash still has a lot of work to do to be like Freddie and MJ, he is very young and hopefully has a lot of years to get to the very top. He deserves it also, he is a hardworker and a devoted artist, he has been dedicated to music his whole life, and I hope he can become a living legend, so he can be appreciated worldwide while he is still alive, I think he has all the elements to become one! In my opinion. Some are good singers, others are not so much. Rather they are commercial. Freddie and MJ I agree. Dimash for me, it’s another level. He’s a living, currently the Best. Thanks for your excellent Analysis.

Wow, Caleb, nice vid. And it's not just because of what you said about Dimash. Yes, he is truly highly skilled in his craft and blessed with this ability to connect with his audience on a level that astounds. Anyone who is interested in breaking him down into elements that can be replicated will be stumped by this. And the greats all have this indefinable, uncategorisable, elusive X Factor. People can copy this charisma or whatever you call it up to a certain point but not to the level of people like Dimash, MJ or Freddie Mercury. These people just stand there and this aura radiates from them and just mows people down. And ever-increasing fame just seems to blow the level of this X Factor to unbelievable levels.
Another element that separates these people from others is that they live for their art. They literally eat drink breathe their music. Not many people are willing to go to this level. Some might even call them insane but then isn't genius just a step away from insanity? Depending on how you look at it. I mean, wouldn't you call these people obsessed? Willing to go to extreme lengths for their art? LOL.
Only history will prove you right. But I think you will be. But one might ask ... who am I? I'm not a musician and I can barely pick out a simple tune on the piano. What I AM is Ms Every Person on the Street, who has never bothered much about music before (although I have very eclectic taste, ranging from country music to Kitaro style world music to Tibetan chants)... I'm someone who got jolted by Dimash's music and performances and moved way out of her comfort zone to try and figure out where on earth this music was originating from... it was that brain-melting. I had to know who his teachers were, what his upbringing was like, what his personal beliefs were because his music goes way beyond simple notes on a music sheet. Then I had to learn how to navigate alien platforms like Instagram, Vkontakte and Weibo just so I could get to his music and stories. And Dimash's fan clubs are full of people like me. No ordinary singer can do this. Maybe some people will never 'get' him. But it doesn't matter. He and his music is here for the world to experience. And even if it takes eons, he will be recognised most definitely as one who changed the musical landscape.

Interesting video! Art is not a science and beauty is in the eye of the beholder therefore what’s good for you may not be even relevant for me like MJ for example. Was he an influencer? Totally! But that was back in the 80’s. Dimash in the other hand is a current success that hasn’t become an influence yet in the west but it’s on the right path to do so IF he finds someone smart enough to promote his amazing work all over the world. Today Dimash is on the top of the charts in Cuba! A nation that doesn’t really follow opera but it’s cult enough to appreciate Dimash’s work of art. There’s so much still to come from him, we can only wait and see.

Dimash is very inspired in MJ as many other plenty of singers and artists, I don't understand how are you saying MJ is irrelevant, LOL, also, MJ wasn't a thing just in the 80's, he actually ruled the music charts over 20 years and he was active during 5 decades, just go looking at some of his concerts and u'll see why he has the most sold album of all time and why ppl call him the king of pop

I'm not a fan of MJ, but he certainly revolutionized pop music, I prefer Freddy, as you. For me, Dimash is above everyone on this list because he is still young and is already revoluzioning the world of music,whit his unique style and his skill out of the world. I don't know all the singers very well, but I agree for the ones I do. And I totally agree about Dimash and the entire top 3. I really liked that you took into account the whole world, not just the Western one. And he's still such a beginner with this whole international career thing. Just think how he's getting more and more popular mostly by word of mouth, no heavy professional promotion.

Dimash is absolutely of the chart in terms of vocals, as you said. However, I have big doubts that he will be as iconic as MJ or Freddie, although I am really hoping that. The main reason is not the language, rather the genre he performs, his style is so much far from being mainstream. Just like Pink Floyd type of groups, he is absolute great, but not everyone can listen and appreciate him.
I didn’t even listen to half the kind of the songs Dimash sings in the past, but guess what Dimash changed that and now I can’t go by a day without listening to one of his popera. If you are not mainstream then make mainstream be you.

Rigth name for the list so far: greatest male vocalist IN ENGLISH of all time+ Dimash and Boccelli. According to this list 99% of great vocalists are from UK or US...a litlle bit partial, don't you think? And don't get me wrong, I love most of them, but....there's so much talent in the world!!!

I would put Michael Bolton alongside Axl Rose, Mick Jagger I don't consider a good singer. Andrea Bocelli is wonderful, I love it, you totally got it right. Hello, Caleb! I liked your reasoning for every singer. You've noted all their flaws and virtues. Said that, in your opinion, some overestimated in the world. Among "Legends" you put Michael Jackson first, Freddie - the second, Dimas - the third. Yes, Michael and Freddie were kings, but only in one genre. Jackson - Pop King. Mercury - Rock King. I agree with you that Dimash has unsurpassed vocals and fantastic technique. The most important thing is that Dimash reigns not in one, but in all genres - pop, rock, folk, neo-classics. He's only got one flaw - it hasn't taken over the whole world yet, its influence in the world is not yet enough. Listen to Michael's albums there is not that much pop, he crossed so many genres. I think he is the most versatile vocalist ever. Dimash was singing Michael's songs and he doesn't sound that good as he sounds in his genre.
Michael is referred to as "king of Pop,rock and soul" .. and pop is "popular music" , not pop genre(today's music).

Dimash is my favorite vocalist, but he doesn't reign in every category. That's just fan bias to say that.
So happy to see that you put Jeff Buckley right where he belongs. His father, the late great Tim Buckley, could just as well have gone right next to Jeff on this list. It would be so wonderful to see a reaction to one of Tim's songs. Phantasmagoria in two would be a good start.

Hi Caleb! I love this kind of videos even if I don’t agree with everything! For example everything you say about Freddie and MJ is absolutely right, but I think Freddie is perceived like the biggest legend ever and maybe there is reason for that.. Freddie doesn’t have a perfect technique by choice and as an overall performer he was able to communicate with his audience like no other.

Dimash está em outro patamar. Ele une o que há de melhor na música clássica e popular. Perto dele, o excepcional Fred Mercury parece um cantor comum. MJ foi apenas um excelente cantor, super estimado. É preciso ter senso de proporções. É a mesma coisa de se comparar Bach com Weiss.

Vc não é fã dele,é diferente. Michael Jackson desta lista foi o único que fez sucesso desde criança,sendo fã dele ou não,ele é o cantor de mais sucesso no mundo todo. Agree with you about DIMASH, I like his songs he has a good voice but he hasn't hit songs. I think that all be alright and he will be the best.
That's a matter of preference. I prefer his songs to almost everything I hear in Western music today.

Totally agree with the rating of Dimash. The best vocalist of all times but he is not HISTORICAL legend, he's a FUTURE legend. Also agree with the rating of MJ and Freddy. In my opinion Andrea Bocelli should be in the top tier, Elton John S-tier, and Ed Sheeran in great vocalists or influential genius.
