little off topic butThe transition for the ending scene was so beautifully done just smoothly into the ending theme but it was a damn Cliffhanger just when they were doing hand to hand combat which sucks cause we gotta w8 another week 😓 Also calling it now this anime has the best ending theme for a new anime this season IMO

I really don't think the deer part was PTSD, the nightmare sure is. But the deer stuff is more like some kind of epiphany, at first he felt bad because of the unnecesary pain he caused to the deer for not being able to kill it in one shot, then when Sugimoto had again the chance to kill the deer, he saw how the deer still was trying to survive despite of the blood loss and the apparent loss of body heat, the deer was dying and yet had the resolve to try to survive; this might be the first time Sugimoto saw another living being with the same resolve to keep living as himself. To me that sounds more like an epiphany than PTSD.
Also, this might be just a guess but if the deer is supposed to be a representation of Sugimoto, then having the deer killed by "a wolf" while the deer is fighting for it's life, wouldn't that be a symbolic hint as to how Sugimoto will ultimately die?

Jacob, you are always so great at highlighting the deeper parts of the story that I frequently miss. For instance, I got that he said he was like the deer, but I didn't connect the dots on how he couldn't kill it because it would be like saying "if this deer can be killed, so can I". I missed that so thanks for your insight.
I was so happy that the wolf didnt get killed. Tbh that had me at the edge of my seat throughout the episode 😂😂

Usually I dont like these kind of jokes, but in golden Kamuy, it's so funny... (and wait for the moment where the autor decide to spice things up with a little of fan service.

I love it when my dog (she is more on the wolf side) just stays in a place and just casually observes the actions of the others and once she has a good read on the other animal or human she will just go for your blind spots or wait till you make a mistake. While my other dog (he is more on the fox side), literally will play a game of who has more energy. Is funny to see how different a dog behaves depending on which side of the spectrum they are. *BONER!!* Chibi Reviews , Asirpa was drunk when they were on the hut eating deer meet. Somehow, she managed to intake alcohol. :v By the way, Nihei, the hunter, have a vast influence over Tanigaki, the soldier, which will become evident in future episodes. So, I suggest that you read the manga if you have time. This episodes is way too tame compared to latest episodes.
Lots of censors?
Chibi Reviews Aside from cutting some in between scenes in the hut scene while Sugimoto and the gang eats deer citatap (those scenes weren't that important in case of production time restraints), it is kinda surprising that this episode have the least amount of censors so far. More like no censors at all. But if ever Nihei's arc finished and reached the arc about the crazy murderer, that I guess will have a lot of censors. And my hope that they will reach the trap prisoner in this season is gone with the season's pacing. That arc will be a feast of censors. So, I hope in the near future, they will get a season 2.
