Great question! Yes. DHEA should be high in any condition that increases ACTH, as it induces the zona reticularis of the adrenal cortex to work. But please research this further.

Hi, in order for ACTH to be secreted, the POMC precursor has to be secreted first and then it splits to give MSH and ACTH

Second question; you said the (scLung cancer' ectopic ACTH)---> cause weight loss...dt cancer itself...then how come the Cushing Disease...is also a cancer of Pituitary gland...---> but wgt gain...???? please help...

Pituitary adenoma that causes Cushing disease is a benign tumor, it wouldn’t cause the cachexia and typical constitutional symptoms that occur with cancer (unlike Small cell cancer)
