- Animal Well Part 3 - my arsenal of unique items continues, and it doesn't stop with the animal flute! I find two new items this episode, and uncovering the consequences proves to be a great time. The animal flute in particular seems like it's hiding something really important.

There's an even more advanced version where you do a pixel perfect jump on the edge of the spikes (which I did, stubbornly not trying my tools)

The way Tyler plays this game is simultaneously so fascinating and so infuriating, in the best way possible.

@sunbleachedangel it's not actually that infuriating, he just makes a lot of weird choices, like not trying to get the flame before moving on, or the way he handled the vertical spike sections. He just plays this game in such a peculiar way and I need to study him in a scientific setting because of it
@@Yokozai Fortunately the editing more than makes up for that because the time from "he missed the flame" to "he got the flame" was like 5 seconds or something. And as someone who has not played this game at all and doesn't know what he does right or wrong it's definitely a lot "easier on the mind"

@@TurtleKwitty he didn't know he could break them until the next room. the penguin is a "tutorial" for breaking spikes, but yeah most people at least figure it out by accident lol

Anytime you realize you can do a thing. You should try every other item to see if it can be used to do a thing too. Every item has multiple uses. Also, get used to paying attention every detail of each room. Something you think might be a thing, is always a thing.

I'm impressed with how much this game can do with fairly basic components. And frankly, it looks really good. I'm normally very leery of pixel art graphics, they almost never work for me, but this game really nails the minimalistic aesthetic hiding a lot of little things under the surface.
Seriously! I was a little surprised at just how great it wound up being. Minimialistic aesthetic hiding a lot of little things under the surface is just about the best descriptor for it honestly, this thing runs so much deeper than it looks and discovering it all is an absolute treat from start to finish.

Me: patiently waits for tyler to figure out he can do unlimited bubble jumps. Tyler: doesn't even mention the possibility of it
It's a relatively difficult tech, also not at all necessary to 100% the game.

@@techesh2165 Floor is Lava ... im pretty sure you have to learn to jump and bubble at the same time to make that work. Ascending even with the BB wand requires jump+bubble.

It's so interesting to see different play styles based off what item the player collects first.
For real. I got the bubble wand first and didn't even think of using other items to solve the water area rooms in later playthroughs.

As someone with more than 50 hours in the game who binged the hell out of this, it's so fascinating to see Tyler experience everything anew
He really did that spike room without breaking the spikes, even though he did exactly that in other cases.

I love this game because it’s a state of the art with procedural animation and physics but it masks itself as an old 2d game. This is the type of game only possible today which makes it so exciting that they made it a good game as well. Haven’t been this excited about an adventure game in a long time

Without spoiling too much if you haven't completed or discovered yet. I highly recommend checking out your other items and finding out what else they can do to help you in your later discoveries. There's definitely one of the items so far I'm just itching for you to use more (but that's me, probably just cause it's my favorite tool lol). Still crazy to see that there's just so many different solutions to many of these scenarios.
Seems like everyone with have a completely different path and experience with all these cool gadgets

@@gmdFrame What's the intended method? It felt pretty intended to me, since everything lines up nicely. You're pushing both chinchillas at once, while simultaneously being able to jump out of their lines of sight so they don't walk back towards you
@@Charcoal190 You use firecrackers to scare everything. Of course you'd use firecrackers there. But Tyler loves his frisbee. He is allowed to love the frisbee.

@gmdFrame There is no "intended". Multiple methods work because that's how it was designed, since you can't know what items a player will or won't have in that moment. That's the beauty of metroidvanias.

My favorite part was when Tyler went "What is this, some sort of *Animal Well?"* and then Animal Well-ed the whole game in two minutes
I am certain he missed an easy chest near the beginning and he doesn't even know it (I was reminded by the fast travel to the beginning area)

Finally played this game and it's amazing! Navigating is a bit of a pain, but the content makes far beyond up for it, though I'm certainly not going to 100% this as dexterity isn't my best trait
especially since 100% completing the game is more like 500%

@@snowob everything is TECHNICALLY possible to decypher on your own if you play the game like a million times except for like 1 puzzle that u need to collaborate with other ppl but the postgame exclusive puzzles are just stupid

Two nice tips:
1. You can do a crazy b.wand tech where you jump+bubble and you can actually land on your bubble - infinite jump. Sometimes its more fitting than the flying on disc tech.
2. It is way way easier to destroy dripstones with the yoyo instead of the disc most of the time.
