The best review you've done in a while, Monopoly GO is a fantastic game and im glad it is getting the attention it deserves. Not sure why you felt the need to include the star wars nerd shit though.
Why does Adam not like Star Wars? Like, does he hate the original trilogy as well? I wonder what his opinion would be on THX 1138 and American Graffiti (the first two films George Lucas directed before Star Wars).
@@carter_lovejoy he recently rated every Star Wars film a 1/10 on IMDb, partially as a meme and partially out of frustration with the “soy boy fandom” and hype culture.
This show is a 10/10, I haven’t felt this emotionally involved in anything Star Wars related since the OG trilogy. There are so many characters and brilliant lines of dialogue that I’m always thinking about, “I burn my decency for someone else’s future, I burn my life to make a sunrise I know I’ll never see.” “The empire is a disease that thrives in darkness, it is never more alive than when we sleep.” “One way out!” It’s exhilarating to experience, and I recommend everyone at least try it.
@@audiosurfarchive Oh man yeah I adore those games, I guess I’m mainly speaking on the live action media/animated shows and not the games. KOTOR 1, especially 2 with its writing and themes are of course some of, if not, the best SW stories out there. I’ve wanted to see that era of Star Wars on film since those games came out.
@@audiosurfarchive Andor is very much a story about everyone having their own rebellion, or reasons for fighting the empire. The characters all feel very real. There aren’t any Jedi, and you don’t even see a Storm Trooper til like EP 7. I think in this era of every Star Wars piece of media relying on nostalgia and cameos, it is a refreshing change of pace.
This show did a phenomenal job showing that the Star Wars universe is so much more than just the Jedi and the lightsaber battles. There are ordinary people living everyday lives, working normal-ish jobs. It’s the best piece of Star Wars media
Ralph, if you are reading this, you should have premiered the video on YT. I'm sure you would have drawn more attention. Also, thank you for your creativity, candy man.❤
Here is something you might have missed at around 6:11 He didn't get arrested for no reason, even though that's how it seems, and thus we see the brilliance of the writing. He is arrested because of the heist. NOT because he was involved..they don't know that.. but the heist itself was the nerve pinch Luthen wanted, a sensitive spot in the empire .. LUTHEN knew thay well planned nerve pinches against the empire would get the Empire to Crack down on everyone. He even said "they are choking us too slowly we are starting not to notice" and "oppression breeds rebellion " This is exactly what Luthen wanted from the heist ..for the Empire to arrest people for no reason (like they did with Cassian) and cause people to wake up
@sarcasticdude2320 during his Batman v Superman watchalong, someone asked him if he’s gonna watch Andor. This, as well as the boring third act of the film, triggered him to officially lash out at the Star Wars franchise and how it ruin fan culture or something, calling it cancer. So much so, that he decided to give EVERY Star Wars film a 1 star! It was both funny and uncomfortable
I hope they introduce a Jedi next season but he's a pathetic loser that can barely uses his powers and then dies un-heroically betraying everyone as anti fan service. I loved this show
I recommend Andor to everyone I meet. It's one of my all time favorite shows. Forget the Star Wars prefix, like Ralph said, it's just great cinema, period.
Sometimes i remember that it's Star Wars show and went "damn, this is a kids show where laser sword go pew pew?" And it kinda ruined the mood. It should have been a standalone spy thriller show.
@@thegrunbeld6876 Cant fully disagree, it more of makes me upset that there has and maybe will never be a Star Wars show this good. I'm a Die-Hard SW shill and even I admit nothing else modern is on this level. I didn't even fully recommend it at first because I thought it was too dark and would confuse or ruin my partners experience finishing Clone Wars the show. Like If I saw the force or a Lightsaber in Andor it would feel corny, I get that.
I was absolutely blown away by how good Andor was. My friend and I watched together and were on the edge of our seats throughout the entire prison arc. I really hope we can get more Star Wars projects like this
Woah was not expecting this review from you. I think its safe to say Andor and Daredevil are the best star wars and marvel shows ever. They are INCREDIBLY hard to beat.
I had such low expectations for this series but it proved to be the best piece of Star Wars content released - as Ralph also says. Books and comics etc aside, this was far better than it needed to be. I hope they maintain this level into the second season, and it doesn't outstay itself.
So I have this feeling about Andor season 1 and I can't tell if it's deliberate or not: Cassian is the show's least interesting character until the very end. But it feels like he only gets interesting after hearing everyone's reasons for rebelling. Then, once he's sent to prison - ironically thanks to his contributions to the heist - Cassian FINALLY applies these ideas to his breakout and going to his mom's funeral/breaking Bix out. But for much of the show, everyone else feels way more engaging because something is driving their actions.
Imperialism is bad. Empire = imperialists = very bad. Luthen is not a bad guy. Luthen does some morally grey things in service of a good cause. That doesn't make him evil that makes him like any other revolutionary in human history.
