I encrypt my sensitive backup files in an encrypted 7z file, then store that 7z file in an encrypted VeraCrypt container. I of course use different passwords for each.
@nuoz3326 yeah you could. I guess my thinking is that an amateur might see a blank Veracrypt file icon and assume it's trash if they ever got ahold of it. Whereas a 7z file typically uses whatever icon you associate zip files with. But yes technically you could nest one 7z inside another
@@Solo6R Okay, im no encryption expert. But is each 7z encryption unique? If so I might just do that. Make 2 encrypted.7z files with 2 diffrent passwords. And thanks for info, very helpful.
I'm rather fond of gpg myself. It comes as part of the GNU toolkit present in every GNU/linux distro, so there's nothing to download. Using it comes at a cost though - it's terminal based, so you need to be OK with using the terminal. I recommend reviewing the user manual (man gpg) before trying it out, it makes everything easier.
Simple symmetric encryption with gpg is super easy using the terminal. If its still to complicated you can use Kleopatra as a really well designed gpg front end
@@GalaxyTheReal Oh I love the thing, getting better with it every day, but most of the internet is still practically terrified of a terminal emulator when they shouldn't be
I know Veracrypt works cuz the FBI grabbed my laptop for my pics from Jan 6th at the capitol and didn't crack it (just got it back), I had full disk encryption with hidden operating system (Linux Mint plausible deniability) with 3 cascading cyphers Serpent(Twofish(AES)). I recovered my pics (offline of course) then disposed of the laptop (key logger in the HD firmware?), drilled it and burned it... BTW for my FBI guy watching I'm just kidding...
Nice larping. Anyone smart enough to somehow evade FBI won't be dumb enough to post a comment on a public website exposing themselves when they're probably on a watch list.

Hi I have windows file named (acb.hfk) I would like to know if you can help with 2 problems. Which is the best app on iMac & Windows to view this file without damaging the file? and the file cannot be read due to being Encruopted, can you recommend using windows 10 or iMac to unencrypted the file thank you

Thats, pretty smart. But couldnt you just make 2x encrypted 7z files and put Them in eachother.
