- I left The Philippines for the first time since moving here in August 2022. I took a 2 week vacation to Thailand. Here is my Koh Phangan adventure! I was shocked at the difference in the culture and people. For example there are so many tourists in Thailand- almost hard to find Thai people.
I live in a beautiful island called Siargao in The Philippines🇵🇭 Although Koh Phangan is amazingin its own way… in my opinion, Siargao Island is hands down my favorite island/ place ever!

In fairness, there are some beautiful places in thailand than in the philippines. But the one thing that stand out is the language barrier. Anyway, what really matters is that you enjoyed your stay in thailand. And we know that you love philippines much better than thailand!👍😊❤

Ok not trying to knock the Philippines because I'm Filipino but if im being honest Thailand seems way more polished than the Philippines. If Philippines could step up it could add billions to the economy.
Yea of course but i think thats what makes the Philippines a more cultural experience when you travel (: thailand is catered to tourists and the tourists dont get ti experience a different way of living compared to where they are from. & its so easy to travel around. Philippines is harder so make sit more of an authentic adventure
It's because of, basically, two things: tourism infrastructure is much better in Thailand AND the Tourism Authority of Thailand has perfected how to use the Tourism Marketing Mix in getting tourists. The Philippine Department of Tourism is still finding the right formula to gain tourists, as its Secretary of Tourism continues to fail in finding the right slogan after it dropped the "It's More Fun in the Philippines" slogan. Also, the Philippines' tourism infrastructure is quite lacking. ... BUT, then again, the Philippines - because of its shortcomings in tourism - leaves much more room for natural sites with lesser madding crowds of tourists; perfect for the solo traveler who wants peace & solace & untouched Nature ... accompanied with who could possibly be the friendliest and most hospitable people on Earth.
Only adventurous tourists can survive in the Philippines. If you're a comfort-oriented tourist, just go to Thailand. Let the Philippines be the Philippines. It will grow its tourism industry organically with the allure of a laidback vibe that tailors to tourists and locals.

Thanks for the tips! It’s just my opinion and my audience is mainly Filipinos(: i love both but I prefer Siargao! That’s why I live there! The reason why I why I dont like Thailand AS MUCH (Still like it) is because of the tourists (:, not the Thai. I wish there were more Thai because i like to experience the true culture of where I am at
