Do Nathan Key word is final, as it’s supposed to be a final boss stage (Master Hand and Crazy Hand) but you can still use it as a regular fighting stage
So glad people also feel this way, playing IRL w my housemates we play Battlefield, Yoshi’s Story, Fountain of Dreams, Dream Land N64, Pokémon Stadium and lastly of course, Final Destination. Whether it’s been a one way stomp or or back and forth as close as possible, this song and stage exemplifies every aspect of competitive Melee and Melee in general to the highest degree.
Who would win? A fox that spams shines? A swordfighter that grabs all the way from the other side of the stage? A pink balloon Pokémon that has a move that reliably kills at zero? A green plumber that wave dashes through half the stage? Or a pink puffball that can use f-throw or b-throw to suicide kill you?
This version of final destination always felt like it had the best stage moving illusion going on with it. Felt like i was on a moving ship when it would transition and shake the screen!
Fun fact for those of you that hear the 64 resemblance in this song: Melee is actually referred to as smash brothers DX, or deluxe, in japan. So, Essential they see this game as a super Buffed version of the original, which is probably why a lot of the same melodies were kept.
Interestingly, this game seems to have almost called Melee in Japan. There are voice files in the Japanese disc that say smash bros melee, but it sounds much different from the one in North America
Also ngl. I bet there was that one Japanese kid that was like "bruh this is supposed to be a port, where the crap is "X" stage? How did these other ones make it?"
Does anyone else feel like the music is synced to the background movie? Like when the music transitions to the rehash of the SSB64 theme on the second loop of the song the background changes from the wormhole to the pan over the World of Trophies/Earth/Nintendo Universe/Wherever. I wonder if the composer and graphics team planned that out ahead of time or if it was just a coincidence.
As much as this would be cool, this whole video is edited to make it seem like that. In fact you can kind of see some scenes cut to fit the transitions.
SSB4 sucks, SSBU is an improvement when it comes to a few things that's great with Ultimate. But I like the previous game for a few things to be honest
The background change at 2:22 was always my favorite. The mountains/clouds on the top and bottom of the screen always tripped me up as a kid but I loved it.
This level will always remind me of a pair of New Year’s parties as a kid where me and my friends were in the basement while the parents were upstairs, and we played this for hours and hours without stopping. I cherish those memories.
For some reason 0:24-0:42 brings me the most nostalgia. That part of the song just brings back great memories of playing this game after school with my friends after we'd all finished our homework, and then playing the game all weekend after watching Saturday morning cartoons.
In terms of competitive, the stage is the best, in terms of music, brawl is the best, in terms of background, sm4sh is the best. Can we create a combination of that? Or well, just putting the superior FD, the Tabuu stage and background with brawl music.
Wish The Versus Screen didn't just Appear in Classic Mode! all Super Smash Brothers Games should always have 1 on 1 and Characters with Their own Place
The best part about this stage, other than the music of course, is the background. My favorite parts are when the stage travels through both wormholes.
This feels like a live feed of what’s going on at Final Destination right now, as I watch it. Like if I wait long enough a bird’s gonna fly up and peck the screen or something.
I don't know about you, but there's something about the green background with lines and then the wormhole, that I absolutely like. The music is the cherry on top.
This final destination theme is my favourite. I remember my first encounter with the crazy hand...i was like: what's going on...another hand? Looks crazy! Miss the good old days! Im 29 yrs old now.
The cybernetic Final Destination. The first one to have the background transition from game to "real world" and back. Unique in that you had to unlock it. Also part of the origin of the "no items fox only final destination" meme.
This stage reminds me of this guy I used to be friends with. We’d have SSBM tournaments (my friends at the time and I) and whoever survived the gauntlet would usually have to face him on this stage for the final fight while the rest of us who didn’t make it would look on, and, if he himself didn’t get eliminated beforehand.
You know, I'm a pretty optimistic person about games, I don't usually gripe about how things USED 2 B BETTUR But I really do love this FD wayyy better than the Brawl one. It's all neon, and it's actually a circle, which makes more sense than the floating blue space plank we have now. Also, it goes through like 5 dimensions of space, cyberspace, some kind of magic voodoo dimension And finally gets outside in this weird upside down dimension thing. Also I love that solar eclipse thing.
First, you're in space. Then, you end up in some technological background. Suddenly, you found out that you're in some robotic tunnel that goes upward. Then, it warps you to some mysterious pathway with dusty purple rings. That pathway takes you down to planet Earth where you see the blue sky and the towns and cities at the bottom. Lastly, a beam of light shines and you end up in a black hole with a rainbow spiral and leads you back into space.
I love Smash Melee still to this day! Home of the wombo combo battle and Fox meta. My friends still fight over Captain Falcon and Fox. I stay cool as a Kirby or Young Link main. This Final Destination is where our memories are. Recover them. I also love how this sounds the most Kirby like of the series because we know Sakurai is also responsible for the Kirby series.
Hyrule temple: When everyone has a great time.
Final destination: When it gets personal.
+thelastperez FD is garbage though, BD or Dreamland is where it's at
+Swift_Heracross or Poke Floats
Or when two gigantic floating disembodied hands of death, Master Hand and Crazy Hand, are just waiting to shred you a new one.
unless your going against Isai in Hyrule temple
Yoshi's Story is for when it gets personal.
2:20 - PERFECTLY SYNC! Give me chills!!!

"If Mew2King is a King, Final Destination is his throne"
For those who are saying Brawl's theme was overly dramatic, the stage is literally called "Final Destination".
I don’t get it

@@NebulaOldChannel oh good point. Brawl theme good
There are always final destination stages in the smash bros games and they are always flat

"HIYA!"
"Game"
“Choose your character!”

Fun Fact: 0:59 is from the Smash 64 opening theme song.
Omg no way!!!! That brings so much nostalgia!!! Good catch!!
Fun fact for those of you that hear the 64 resemblance in this song: Melee is actually referred to as smash brothers DX, or deluxe, in japan. So, Essential they see this game as a super Buffed version of the original, which is probably why a lot of the same melodies were kept.
It’s not even a “resemblance,” this is just straight up a remix of the N64 credits theme.

Kinda strange hearing the credits music when you haven't won the game yet.
Though I feel it would've made more sense if this song played at the staff roll screen.
