I feel like the backgrounds for the Final Destination stages are the most underappreciated thing in all of Smash Bros.
I agree. The animators and artists put a lot of time and effort into making these things. Yet barely anyone talks about it.
Probably because those stages aren't related to any existing game and most importantly it's a stage for competitive players.
I especially love Melee’s and how techy it looks

Forget the other Final Destinations from the other Smash Bros games. This is the TRUE Final Destination.
Absolute banger track and a mysteriously beautiful background that isn't hell bent on disorienting you, giving you motion sickness or straight up blinding you. If it wasn't for the janky ledges, it would truly be the Final Destination of all time

the fact the music syncs with the background is INSANE amounts of detail and effort. mad respect to the people who had to make this background
brawl has a lot of attention to detail that people overlook . each character even had their own sound effects of their movement and attacks
At 1:39, few songs are able to make me feel so many emotions all at once. With the guitar chords echoing and the strings swelling, I feel determined, enraged, saddened, scared, empowered, everything. It’s so impactful and beautiful to the ears and it has an effect on me that very few songs in general do. Best FD theme hands down.
Ever since brawl, final destination feels more like a journey through the universe itself than an arena, its as if all that surrounds us, wether we are able to see it or not, decided to reveal itself to our very eyes
This absolutely needs to be added to Wallpaper Engine if you weren't already planning on that. Not sure how easy that is either though.

I now see how lucky i am to have lived this game as a kid. Kicking ass in stage and music with my favorite character made me feel like i will always be destined to victory

Growing up I always was the only one in my smash circle who really appreciated the final destination backgrounds, be it from brawl, 4 or ultimate, and man, this is insane. Thank you Dyllon!

I’ve ALWAYS wondered just where these super-elaborate backgrounds for these FD stages take place. Like…there’s space, and then above the ocean, and then there’s also *clouds* in space? I can barely understand Ultimate’s being heaven and hell, but what’s all this?
I mean, there might be a commentary from the devs on it, but consider its called Final Destination, as in the last place you'll get to. And all of the interpretations of it, i.e. space has been called the final frontier, many people ask to be cremated and spread in the ocean, heaven/hell people consider to be their final place in the afterlife, etc.
I have no idea if that's what the game creators intended, but it makes sense. Otherwise it's just really cool backgrounds it goes through, kind of like during the Lavos fight in Chrono Trigger

If you take the description for final destination trophy from melee into consideration it makes... A bit more sense, the description stated that final destination is a place that takes place between the real world and the trophy world, (im also pretty sure it states that it exists between dimensions but I'm probably wrong about that) so when you get to the ocean part I guess it's supposed to be like the real world? Since this is the final destination before your character becomes a trophy a.i stops being in the fantasy world smash takes place in, and since if master hand really is someone just playing around it makes some sense that near the end the game warps between reality and fantasy before fully becoming reality again.
What I said is probably wrong and it could just be that the Devs just wanted a cool background for final destination, but it's fun to think about.

This was always my favorite FD simply for the fact the track actually matched with what was going on in the background!
Brawl was my 1st smash game which is ehy i find it so shocking people hated it, obviously compared to ultimate is ridiculously slow and floaty, but at the time it was the coolest thing i had ever seen. Thank you Nintendo

hey! just wanted to say that i've been working on a mod for Brawl FD in Ultimate for over a year and a half, and this video's been a FANTASTIC reference point. getting to watch my work slowly get closer and closer to resembling it has truly helped my progress more than I can say, and I'm very grateful for your work!

The ocean at sunset segment is my favorite part of the FD stage, mainly because it somehow reflected The Subspace Emissary's ending and the games intro. However, only thing missing is the X-shaped light in the sky reflecting the erasure of The Isle of the Ancients caused by a ton of Subspace Bomb explosions.
Apparently in the lore FD is the link between the world of Smash Bros and our reality.
Makes sense since master hand is like the one that plays with the trophies
Coming from someone who really enjoyed Super Smash Brothers Brawl out of EVERY OTHER SMASH GAME, this was by far one of the most memorable backgrounds in Smash Brothers history.

I remember when my family got my brother and I this game, we played it together on subspace emissary a lot or I'd usually watch him play. But when it came to playing regular matches, whenever I see this background or hear this theme, I'd always imagine an epic battle between me and him.
I still play this game with my sister on my emulator every now and then and it's still a blast

@@itzderrio No, I have no biases towards modern games. Ultimate is better due to the larger character selection and faster paced action, but Brawl has the vastly superior story and other smaller things that make it truly amazing
