Thank you for the promo. I just ordered the auto walk away lock module for my EV6 GT!
lCongrats on the new car. What an amazing deal. Well done. I bought my Ioniq 5 Limited AWD a few months after you did. My dashboard shows 3.9miles/kwhr for 16000 miles. Now that the weather has warmed up a little, I am seeing my usual 300 miles of range. I have also experienced a dramatic improvement in the reliability of the EA charging plazas near me. Even if one pump does not work, it will be fixed in a few hours.
5:34 You nailed it! Same story for my family. My aunt bought her EV6 last July, and literally all of us converted. Now, there are four EV6s and 1 EV9 in my family, as I recently bought a GT, my parents have a GT-Line, my Aunt and Grandpa both have Winds. We went from being die-hard german car enthusiasts to strong E-GMP backers.
ICCU and 12 volt battery issues make me reluctant. How's it been for your family?
@@officialyasir Sorry about the late reply. Only 1 of the 5 E-GMP vehicles total have had 12V issues, stemming from when we got PPF installed and the installers ran the battery down. That was the GT-Line. All others have been perfect.
@@kimballwhite787 Great, thanks!
Congrats - great deal - smart picking RWD for range. I just hit 6 months ownership and 18,000 miles on my 23 Ioniq 5 limited AWD.
For me, the ioniq6 is a good example of how far we went from the starting of mass produced EVs in 2011.
What a beautiful car, my friend! Congratulation's. If I didn't need the Ioniq 5's huge trunk for my lifestyle, I'd get one of these too. Glad you're still in the fold!
Nice! 🎉
Congrats. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to all the updates!
I think it looks great in the red and the SE RWD combo + no home charging will make for some interesting videos. I was team Kona because it would add interest compared to the “same car” but going with the super long range combo will be just as interesting!
Beautiful car, Corbin! Enjoy and looking forward to the future posts.
Congrats on your purchase. I have the exact same trim and color. Very happy with it so far.
I actually like driving this EV more than Ioniq 5. Thank you for the video.
Awesome!! Can`t wait for future videos!
You got the exact car I would consider as a replacement for my 19 Ioniq EV.
That red color is sweet!
Looks great! Good luck and can't wait to see more videos. Great way to expand the channel hands on. Fun color and the range is going to be great. You should do a poll and giveaway for whoever gets the closest mile range from 100-0. Just a thought
congratz ! exciting car
Congrats! We just got back from a 2-week, roughly 3,400 mile, trip in our new Ioniq 5 LR RWD. We almost got the Ioniq 6. It was my preference because I’m an efficiency nut. But the car was supposed to be for my wife, and she wanted room for all her quilting gear. (She’s in a quilting guild.) So we got the 5. Then it turned out that she like driving our Bolt EUV better, to the 5 became mine after all.
I’m looking forward to seeing your comparisons. I will say that our Ioniq 5 was surprisingly efficient on the highways. Charge to charge on the road, our lowest was 3 miles/kWh and best was 4. Mostly around 3.4. Thanks for taking the time to document and share your discoveries.
I love my ioniq 6 and I look forward to your future content about this car..
I'm leasing one too! 6 weeks in and I am LOVING this car. I got the SEL. 2 years free charging! Just sold my 2019 CTS. This car feels like it's 1000 lbs. lighter than my Caddy, but it's 1000 lbs. heavier!
Congrats on the new car! Pretty excited to hear about it. I'm at the end of my niro lease in May so thinking about this as a replacement.
Congrats Corbin! My wife and I just did the same thing a few weeks ago! I have the 2023 I5 SEL AWD (which I purchased) and now my wife is leasing the 2024 Ioniq 6 SEL RWD. Hers is black with the gray interior. I really like the red color though but they didn't have any at the time. We also got an amazing lease deal with the same dealer I bought mine from in High Point, NC. I love the looks of her car but I definitely fit better in my Ioniq 5 but she's happy and that's all that matters. Looking forward to seeing more from you!!
Congrats! I just got the exact same car in red last week with the same lease deal. Love it so far.
Congrats! We just bought a used 2023 Ioniq 6 Limited and drove it from FL to MD. Really love the car.
Excited to see the RWD vs AWD comparisons in winter weather.
Congrats! Same color than mine but I have the AWD. Still amazed on its efficiency and not still used in summer here in Quebec City Canada.
I have a 6 ltd and love it. according to my info the cumulative electric is 3.7 m/kw. we just did a 1000 mile trip to northern california and back. rarely had it over about 72 mph but got only about 3 m/kw. will be very interested to see how you do. I found that using 350 charges 30 minutes would get me from 25-80 and then another 30 minutes to get the rest and sometimes it wouldn't get me all the way to 100%. what is the extent of your driver assist on the se? i bought the ltd because i wanted 360 degree visability. does yours have the smart cruise control and lane keeping assist? thanks for your shows . they are great.
congratulations Corbin (i hope i said & spelled that correctly). i myself have a '19 Ioniq electric and am looking at either the 5, 6 or even Kona so i'll definitely have to stay tuned to your updates.
I’m jealous. I sort of kind of considered jumping on this deal for a black I6 with this configuration at my dealership by the end of April, but my car is paid off and it’s a good car (‘22 Elantra hybrid), that I plan to drive until it breaks. I had to buy it in a hurry after totaling my ’17 Ioniq hybrid two years ago. I wanted to keep my Ioniq for 10 years then move into an electric, but that didn’t work out. I really want the RWD I6’s range and V2L capability (for hurricane season). I’ll be living vicariously through you.
I have already put 83k on my 22 I5 Se, it got hailed on and I sold my ioniq phev at a profit on the trade. I really struggle with range (as I am an idiot always driving) so I wish I could pop over to the i6 but I already took the ride on the i5 (I only owe 10k so I will be driving her till the wheels fall off)
Great choice!! I’m loving my new Ioniq 6🔥🔥.
I just sold my 2022 Ioniq 5 and leased the same ultimate red se long range RWD. I felt lucky to actually get one. The range is pretty remarkable and I appreciate all of the standard features it comes with. The ride quality is luxury level and quieter than my 2020 Lexus. I prefer the ride over the Ioniq 5. Thanks for the video!
I’ve had my 6 Ultimate RWD since December of last year. I love it to bits.
Amazing deal. Nice color. I wonder how good the rear wheel drive traction is on rain and snow.
Congrats! I have been enjoying my I6 since July ‘23. My preferred model was the Red RWD Limited, trading off the range for amenities that I desired. Had to travel from NC to FL to buy the exact model available (dealers were being stingy and not willing to trade with each other). 16K miles later and outside of the usual public charging issues loving this machine !!
Greetings from just north of Boston! Kind of kicking myself for not jumping on the lease deals on the Ioniq 6 last month! I was curious about the same spec you have - at some point would you mind covering the differences in active safety/blind spot monitoring in the SE trim compared to higher trims? I know it has blind spot warning but it seems more passive in the SE (does it only come on if you turn on your blinker and there's a car in your blindspot, as opposed to any time there's something in that blind spot)? Good luck with charging in Boston, hope it's not as bad as many say it is. My cousin lives in the city and relies on superchargers for his Model 3...seems doable, but those have a line quite often too, and prob will only get worse as other brands adopt NAS too.
Amazing opening shot 😍😍😍😍
Hey, congrats! I'm in the Boston area and also rely on public DC fast chargers with my new 2024 Ioniq 5 (no charging in my apartment building). Will be interested to see how it goes for you, no issues for me yet. I mostly use the Somerville/Assembly EA chargers. Maybe I'll see you around!
Can/will you fit the car with studdless snow tires. My Q5 in Alaska needed studdless (choice) snow tires. The all seasons tires sucked in the snow/ice.
Im really looking forward to your average efficiency through various seasons. I’m very very excited to see how you far in a real New England winter with a RWD EV. If you could test it with the all season tires before you put any winters on, that would be awesome to know!
You cant beat that price. Almost any other lease for that price would get you a much inferior car.
Congrats man! Great cars no matter what model you get. I just had the 3m matte put on my I5N hood and it looks great, u can barely see it. Make sure u protect your new baby!
It is a fantastic vehicle at an incredible price. What is to not like about it?
Wow! You are following the same path as me. A 6 now and upgrade the 5 in a year or so. We have had our 6SE for a week and a half on the two year lease. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a RWD. There wasn't one within 500 miles, so we did get an AWD. The lease is $3000 + 270/mo. The range and efficiency are amazing so far. I'm looking forward to a 2400 mile round trip vacation with it next month. So far, my only complaint (other than banging my head getting in) is that the steering wheel controls are backwards. P.S. Any news on getting polo shirts?
Congratulations! It looks great. I do own a 2023 Ioniq 6
i just got an ioniq 5 sel awd for $399 a month with 500 down a few weeks ago i love it
I drove an Ioniq 6 last year, really liked it. The only drawback is the small trunk opening . It’s about the same size as my Corolla. Trunk is good but hard to put anything large in it. Also drove the model Y last year, was fast, drove well but I won’t buy a telsa because of musk and all controls are on screen. Ioniq 6 has great colours (really like the red) better than Ioniq 5. If not for size of trunk opening I would get an Ioniq 6. Great video!
Sure wish we could get a lease deal like that in Canada
CONGRATS! The I6 RWD LR is very tempting. The efficiency is the lure. I have heard the in car reporting is under reporting it's efficiency and distance travelled. Rsymmons pointed out the phone app reports much better numbers than the in car and I have heard others report similar mismatch. Since the EPA numbers are so good I expected great numbers, but the dash reported much lower figures than I expected in the tests I saw. So I decided to pass. Efficiency, long range, fast charging it should be a road trip dream. IF we can get reliable fast infrastructure. I am green with envy. Love the looks of the I5, but love the efficiency of the I6. I think you did great.
Efficiency in electric cars in my own experience greatly depends on the way you drive them, how fast and in what weather. With 70 degree weather / 35mph you can easily get 5 or even 6 miles/kwh. On a freezing day on highways 70mph you can expect half of that.
@@polysmart True, but if the vehicle is efficient and the driver is efficient you are going to get much better numbers. It doesn't matter how frugal I am with my go pedal in my current EV when compared to the most efficient cars out there. I drive for efficiency and on my best days and temps I still don't see the numbers that some of these RWD Model 3's are getting and they are NOT driving for efficiency or slowly. I have to drive slowly and mindfully to get those numbers. Just as one example. I want to see even better numbers out of the I6 than the M3 RWD. The EPA numbers say that we should expect better numbers. So far I haven't seen them so I am looking forward to the data from this channel on the I6.
@@Longsnowsm You can see here www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml how the EPA test is ran, specifically at what temperatures and speeds. They run cold tests only in city traffic. The rest are fairly high temps. The point made here is that unless you follow the same proprtions of driving the EPA has set, you are getting something different every time depending on speed and temps.
I have the awd version and I struggle to get over 3 mi/kwh. It has been winter and i do 70mph every day so perhaps that skews the numbers. I also have a 2021 kona ev and that gets 4 mi/kwh minimum on the same run
I leased the same model (SE rear wheel drive) a month ago and so far I love it. It has plenty of power and a very smooth drive. The 2 years of free charging made it an even better deal. The charging has been ok so far, other than the fact that the Electrify America closest to my house is usually crowded and consistently has multiple chargers out of service. So I usually avoid that charging station when possible.
Good luck with it. Be careful about the legal effect of tinting the windows on a vehicle you do not own.
Great car. I got the Ioniq 6 SEL AWD a month ago and love it. Onyx and black interior. I didn’t find a lvl 1 charger in the car, so I talked the dealer into giving me 1. EA is 5 mins from my house. I’m normally the only car there
You're a braver man than I to rely on EA in Boston. The Arlington and Burlington locations are convenient to me but they can be a true test of sanity with broken stalls and long waits. Dorchester is full of rideshare at all hours and Assembly Row is a very tight squeeze.
Hopefully, the Tesla network will be available soon. It's far better than any other public system in most areas.
Went to the dealership and saw a Limited Red getting off the truck in 2023 because I wanted to see the color match between charge point cover and body. Was convinced then it was a tight second to the Silver. Was discouraged from it by head clearance in the limited in the rear seat. Yours is the best spec going for the 6 as the range and current price are its irresistible qualities. 10:36
I also just leased the 6. I live in Milford. I replaced my leased Kona EV from Key Hyundai, sister of Manchester Key Hyundai. Am curious what deal you got. There were NO rwd’s to be found around here. Can you chat about. And i love it. I actually have been charging from home using my electric dryer port. Electrician wanted 5k just to run a wire.
Congratulations 🥳 It's a really good looking car. And the price 🤩 amazing.
Red was my first choice, glad I got it in red. I also have the base model in Europe. I get 560 km on a charge. BTW, does your have the heated seats? If not, I'm curious what you're going to do about it.
Knew it would be that awesome lease deal. Congrats!
Congrats and nice color!!!
That’s a great choice. Very nice car to drive but also very familiar.
congrats. I must of missed heard but I thought you least this one. if I wasn't aware of the modifications allowed.
Hmmm. Well… it's a slick sedan, with better range, and I hope you are happy with it. I never liked the trunk in my Model 3, and thus wouldn't opt for an Ioniq 6. I much prefer the hatchback in my Ioniq 5. Another difference between us is I always buy my cars and drive them for much longer than a lease allows. But that's just me.
Great choice!
Hi, I am an owner of Ioniq 6 2023 experiencing level 2 charging at 40 or 48 amps like you did.
Just want to have an update on the issue please. You still drive Hyundai products and recommand them so is the overheating problem solved now?
Tks for your help
What a deal! With conflicts going on in the Middle East and Europe, inflation, and uncertain future, I predict gas price will go up. It is a fun EV to drive.
Love the color! Congrats!
Yes you are right on with base model as it does all the driving requirements. I have a 23 Ioniq 5 and love it. Waiting for the 2025 refresh and the NACS Adapter. Happy hypermiling
Congrats on the new I6. After watching a few of your vid, you swayed me in getting into I5 over Q4 Etron. Love the new car and my first EV. For those viewers out there on the fence. Sweet deals going on right now. My SEL trim just $248/mo (tax included.) with zero down and that is in Cal with high taxes. This is half the price of the eTron. I’m sure in other states with less demand, you may do even better.
Congratulations! I have the 6 in dark grey 😊
Congratulations! Such a beautiful car.
If you'd prefer a different color upholstery, check with an upholstery shop. I had leather upholstery installed in a 2012 Altima, and I think is cost about $1200 at the time. And that included seats, armrests, headrests, door panels, etc. Of course, the kit has to be available from the manufacturer, and it's going to cost more than I paid 12 years ago. But, otherwise, beautiful car!!
Welcome welcome welcome I'm so excited for you I love my Ioniq 6 SEL. I do wish I had the smaller wheels for the extra range.
Trying to find one now for the current $189/month 2k down deal. Wish i saw the 239/239 down deal. Oh well. My trade in should more than cover the 2k down and maybe even shave some more off the top of the lease monthly. Went to the dealer today and while they didn't have a SE RWD they took my info down and are trying to get it.
Best of luck Guy- My only complaint is I am now taking the 6 back in the shop as the heat and AC never worked right, for the second time. After the recall the heat and AC worked once. Now heat is intermittent and AC non existent......9000 miles in and 3.2 average
Welcome to the club!
Congrats !!
Nice! Congrats! Yes jump on that charging promo as I believe it's going away with the 25 model years minus the 5 N.
I thought the RWD doesn't have a heat pump? The price is crazy and I would for sure get this over the new Camry or Accord.
I think it may be the very, very base SE with ~150HP that lacks the heat pump.
Good for you bud! You’ll enjoy it. 😄
Are you sure the rwd has a heat pump? My i5 ltd rwd apparently does not only the awds do...
To my understanding all trims have heat pumps except SE standard range (the smaller battery). The SE long range (here) certainly has it.
Awesome! Congratulations!
Ultra-rare, base model - this is a symptom of a problem in the BEV market. If they’re going to grow, we need them to not just be luxury toys, but carmakers also will only make the most profitable mix of cars possible.
This would be my choice of car. Love the super long range. Almost jumped on the lease deal, but I’m lazy, even a friend was telling me I had to get this deal. Sad.
I'm getting 4.3 M/kWH in my good old 2013 Leaf.
Are you able to keep Openpilot with the Ioniq 6?
One of the best looking colors on the I6. Ultimate Red!
We know it is far less powerful than the AWD… but how does it feel getting from 0-40? Is it much different? Does the regen feel different?
I've driven AWD before I got the RWD. The HP difference is not significant both are plenty powerful. The regen feels very similar also.
Congratulations 🍾🎈🎉🎊
I would love that color on the i5.
Love the RED!
Is one of the things you lose going to the SE trim V2L?
Bout time. 🎉👏
Use sport mode @lvl 0 sparingly. You've been warned.😈
Good Choice!
Did the dealership rip me off on my new 2024 Ionic 6 SE RWD? With $7500 credit, almost $2500 on trade in, $5000 cash and after haggles on removal of auto added supplemental contracts, I ended up with about $290/mo on a 3 yr lease. This was like putting $15k down, $10,408 for 3 yr lease and a residual value of close to $29k at the end of lease. And now after less than 2 mos, a recall? Looks like a huge rip off!
Cool, I like the 6 better, I leased an SEL at the start of April.🎉
As an Ioniq 6 SE RWD owner, I can say that you've made a great choice. During summer weather, I'd have over 400 miles range about 1/3 of the time. Since I live in New Brunswick, Canada on the tip of Northern Maine, I put winter tires and wheels on the car which, along with the bitter cold over the winter, destroyed the range. Now, however, I'm back to summer tires and stock wheels again and my range and efficiency is rebounding really well. With over 18,500 miles (not kilometers) on the clock since I bought it at the end of July last year, my efficiency stands at 4.1 mi/kwh as of today.
That’s a damn good average!
Nelson. B.C. Canada here. I tracked my efficiency but subdivided by summer and winter tires. At the change in November I was at 4.3 miles/kWh. I reset and when I changed tires again last week I was at 3.3 for a year average of roughly 3.8 as I did almost equal miles in summer and winter. That's the SE AWD. I think yours must be north of 4.3 for summer driving! I am at 28,000 miles and just past a year of ownership. Nice car.
@@mikcole4794Your numbers are really good too. I need to look at the numbers again, but IIRC I was at about 4.7 mi/kwh before the tire changeover and winter.
On another note, I have family up north of you in Balfour and south of you in Castlegar and Trail. It’s a small world.
@@photogravity LOL, it's a small world after all. I grew up in Cgar but have lived all over till recently. Lovely part of the world, same as yours! It's great for EV's: the I6 chews up the mountains and gets great efficiency because of regen and because the mountain roads aren't really fast. An EV also does much much much better passing!
Im waiting for Ionic 5 refresh version 2025 just like you 😊
I miss the IONIQ 5. I ended up giving the car to my dad and bought a basic RWD Tesla Model 3, only because of the charging network. I love the Model 3 though, I think its great, just that the quality and build is my only gripe about it. Though I do believe once Hyundai are usable in Superchargers it will be awesome! I just got so tired of using Electrify America for 2 years, I drive a lot so I need it. People began fighting for charging, and chargers being unusable or broken became so annoying. I have reserved the Rivian R2, since it will have NACS charger, and have that style of "computer on wheels" like Tesla. I still adore the style and overall size and drive of the IONIQ 5. The retro look, to simplicity and it's build quality. I love Hyundai and I hope to maybe buy another if finances allow in the near future - perhaps the N ;)
Good car and nice color. 😊
Lucky you. Mine has been on order since December and is scheduled for the end of July. Delayed twice. Maybe a 3rd delay will happen.
Wow! That is a long wait. Where are you located?
@@TheIoniqGuy England. They are much more money here and no free charging
Any idea if the ioniq 6 will get the same upgrades as the midlife ioniq 5? Now that would be a car I would be very interested in! 😁
I’m leasing a 2023 IONIQ 5 and we just picked up a 2024 Kona EV for my girlfriend yesterday.
So, I voted for the Kona for you, but I do understand your commuting situation.
Is one allowed to tint windows for leases? I’d love a video on what we can and cannot mod on a vehicle for leasing.
I asked the dealer about modification and they said they didn’t care but they might just be giving me special treatment because of the channel. Worst case scenario, you just remove the tint
Removing tint is pretty simple and fairly quick if you have a steamer. I recently took tint off the front windows of my car to pass inspection because it was too dark to pass up here in Canada. I'm guessing it took me no more than an hour to remove the tint, get rid of any leftover adhesive on the glass and clean the windows. Granted it was only two windows, but once you get in a rhythm with these things, they aren't too difficult or time consuming to do.
Congrats on the new car. I’m excited for some electric Sedan coverage.
