    Kyudo is meditation using bow and arrows. It's not a war art. If you want to learn Japanese archery (for target/war), you have to look up something called "Kyūjutsu"

    before my health went bad i was into archery since a early age.always loved my longbow perfect hunting weapon,she is right archery helps you to stay calm, focus,be one with your self.always found japan style bow interesting,because limbs are so far off center,unlike typical D long bow,where the arrow shelf is about 3/4" above center,id love to find a documentary explaining how it develop(no shortage on the sword)fascinated with samurai/old japan history,and there culture too so polite respectful

    The bow is asymetrical so it can be used from horseback.

    It's believe its actually that way because there is more vibration when shooting from the center.

    what are the draw weights of those bows?. as a recurve 40lb compound 60lb archer that draw method they use is just incredible and looks damn hard.

      Aqull I think it's usually around 30 lbs not sure though
