it's not 5300. it's 5904 ancient debris (over 3 shulker boxes) tier 4 beacon consists of 164 mineral blocks. 1 block = 9 ingots, so the beacon would need 1476 ingots. in netherite, you need 4 netherite scraps and 4 gold ingots to make 1 netherite ingot, so 1476x4 = 5904 debris and 5904 gold

I’d argue beds are way more expensive. With tnt it’s two very easy items to get in large quantities. With beds it’s two items that are rather hard to get in large quantities and they don’t stack. That or it’s a bunch of emeralds. Either way not stacking is a huge efficiency loss
You can automate the production of both wool and wood, whereas you can only automate one of either gunpowder and sand (hint, it's the gunpowder). All you need to do is bring a crafting table down with you and make the beds as you need them. It's not difficult.

And to automate wool, you need a mob farm which you get gunpowder from anyways... All in all beds are okay early game, but if you're needing serious debris then tnt is so much better
I always use the explosive method to find netherite I made a whole shulker box full of beds. And then once I got all the netherite armor and tools that I wanted I straight-up put mending and all the enchants I want on it so it never breaks and I don't have to go and get more netherite plus I do appreciate the whole it can float in lava thing. I'll never forget I tried to fight the Wither on my gameplay series inside a ravine and of course I died but even while the wither was attacking me the armor and tools were still there in the lava which means all I needed was fire resistance and I was back in business. I didn't end up beating the Wither unfortunately. Had to peaceful it. Eventually I will get to fight it again sooner or later on my channel. The issue I was having is that the Ravine was mainly water and lava so movement is very hard. I did Rectify this after I did peaceful the wither so now the Ravine is all obsidian so I can run back and forth now
