The stories (or the "lore" lol) definitely add to the charm of Ghost. Since Ghost is a very theme-forward band, the stories add to the enjoyment, in my opinion. Plus it's hilarious. Like, here we have a band which is a representation of a satanic church and their whole concept is essentially a parody of Christianity and archaic ideals of good and evil, but now, we have these newer Nihil videos which are almost a parody OF the parody - a metaparody, if you will, of the concept of Ghost (as a band). I thought that was particularly genius and also self-aware.
also, Cardinal Copia riding his tricycle in the mausoleum is Hilarious. Also, the actor they hired to play Papa Nihl is genius I just love him and his story line with "Seester"
I'm a devout Catholic. I love Ghost. They are one of my absolute favorite bands and Tobias is a hero of mine. I can see that it's a gimmick. It doesn't offend me. The music is what I love the most but as a Catholic the detail he puts into it all is just astounding. I mean he has to study the church so much to get all the details he puts into his band. If you take stuff too seriously there's no point in enjoying life.
Same here! Having the knowledge that I do of the Catholic church makes me appreciate Ghost even more! It's a ton of theatrics, and it's awesome. This guy truly is amazing.
I think of Ghost as a compilation of the best parts of all past bands put together into one unique hell of good time. The music is obviously the best part, but the changing alter ego with each new album is pure genius. It's a bit like Iron Maiden with the ever changing Eddie. Fans want to know what the next one will be like.

Music, Movies,Acting etc..it's showbusiness. People need to quit analyzing the motives for the costumes etc. It sells, it's a business. It's selling well. I'm definitely sold. But I don't dwell on the inuendo. I think it's fun.

Yeah "we need a story" but now they basically release one episode a year just to introduce the new papa, the so-called story is pretty lackluster, never delved deeper in papa's background, where he comes from, who he is, why they keep changing was never properly adressed, the characters were never developed, and they are going nowhere and to make matters worse now they are focusing more on that bullshit of sister imperator and papa nihil love story, they even incorporated in the music videos like Dance macabre and kiss the go-goat like who cares?! Do that too but obviously we care more about papa emeritus. Even something dumb like why they wear masks and that heavy make-up could provide a very entertaining layer to the story like they living in a pretty conservative small town and needing to hide their identities from the fanatics type of thing Tobias said he was inspired by The phantom of opera, why not try a gothic romance? I think that'd be pretty cool, something like The Adam's family fits quite well too, anyways that's just my humble opinion and sorry for the "essay" lol
