If you want to know what happend in the very last scene, the other panjurli was his father who had disappeared about 20-30 years back in the same spot. Shiva already died when he was strangled. It was the god who had come into him and given him that extra lease of life. When his work was done, uniting the forest officials with the tribals, he disappeared. Hope this helps.

Like if father is doing the rituals of Panjurli, then his son will also be doing the same demigod Panjurli ritual as the first priority. Also in addition to that same person would also perform other demigods rituals too if the need arises (such as with availability of some other person)

The story was based on a tradition that is followed by almost every village of India and in that tradition, every village has a village deity which protects them and allows them to be flourished in the village, and annually villagers gather and celebrate a festival as the spirit of the deity entered to a man from the village, they offer food to the deity, sing devotional songs to the deity, deity in the body of the villager dance to deliver his message through signs and gestures, and if anyone have something to ask from the deity, then help is done through that man. So the movie's storyline is plotted around this tradition of India.

The Bootha Tradition.. Brought to the forefront through this movie. The first 20 minutes and last 20 minutes -> I can watch it a 100 times and still feel intensely spiritual. In the last scene, the hero dies but then the spirit (Lord Guliga) enters his body. It gives him a child. In the last dance - the Demigod (spirit) hands over the village and villagers to the forest officer (that's the whole dance), asks him to take care of the villagers like babies and then unites the whole village under the leadership of the officer... As it was time for the spirit (Guliga) to merge with its Lord (Panjurli) - that's the last scene where they disappear.

Spirit only helps hero to get him alive make him fight against evil .
      Unites the village and leaves.

At the age of 54 this is my most favorite film in my life.
Generally I don't watch kannada language movies, but I watched it because even the intellectuals were talking about this movie. And I feel I am purified after watching this movie. Recently I was admitted to hospital and the patient next to me was admitted to hospital after watching this movie, one person died in the theater.

Nothing can beat this movie. Absolutely nothing. It was so, so immersive. You feel like the guliga is standing behind you and whispering in your ear as soon as the guliga possesses Shiva. Rishabh Shetty was God in this scene. This will go down in the century as one of the greatest pieces of art ever made.

This movie even as an arab was very moving, powerful and the acting superb. It was like the spirit was in him when he was acting for this movie. A masterpiece for sure and the climax as well as the ending had deep meaning in which Panjurli ( Shiva's father ) and Shiva as Guliga meet, and as job done joining of tribe and forest now safe, and people, they disappear back to the spirit world. Masterpiece writing, directing and acting. It just connects with with you deeply and gave me some insight of the belief and traditions.

Wow your Kannada got me. Thank you for speaking in our language. We had stopped watching movies in theaters for a long time now . We realized that our Kannada movie is here in USA and usually 100 miles away from our house, and stays for 2-3 days . We just went in there for supporting , we were in for a treat . Weeks pushed and the movie stayed ,even came closer UpTo 50 ,40,then 28 miles. We were so much in awe we watched it thrice here , and enjoyed with friends on Prime. This movie is in my all time favorites list now .
