Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

He's actually basing Obi Wan on the past three movies where he played Obi Wan, but he based those movies on Alex Guiness. So he is basically using Guiness's delivery and speech patterns without actually studying Guiness's delivery and speech patterns. Kind of mind twister

Andor is literally everything this should’ve been: a good show. THIS IS WHERE THE HIGH GROUND BEGINS
obi-wan after shooting grievous: blasters, so uncivilized
obi-wan in every scene in the serie: so anyways i started blasting
Just finished watching the entire series - couple of things: 1. Obi Wan is the baddest Jedi Knight ever! Finally when he gives in to the force, it went full swing action but it took almost 5 episodes to get there. 2. Darth Vader was done justice here, hopefully they can give us a R rated Darth Vader series 3. With the Mandalorian and now Obi Wan series it is truly confirmed that Disney totally screwed up Episode 7,8,9 - there is so much of ways of honoring these characters instead s**tting on them and these tv series show them how Star Wars should be done! Cannot wait for the next limited Obi Wan series.
I knew there was a reason Owen didn't want Luke to be trained as a Jedi! He knew about Anakin becoming Vader, and he didn't want the same thing to happen to Luke. He was protecting him. Man this looks so good. I'm so excited for this.
Back in Ep 4, when Beru says "He has too much of his father in him," Owen replies with "That's what I'm afraid of." He knew.
in fact they don't know Anakin has become Vader, they think Anakin died as a Jedi, which was a dangerous and violent life.
@@Evil0tto That’s what I was trying to figure out. Just how much did Owen and Beru know about what happened to the Jedi and what happened to Anakin? And did they know that Luke was eventually going to be brought into the fight and that’s why they Owen tried to keep Luke away from the fight? There’s so much to read into that one conversation that it’s now really nice to see how the creators of this show are finally explaining it. Owen really cared about Luke’s well-being and did everything in his power to keep Luke away from Obi-Wan. Owen had to take the role of father and guardian for Luke, keeping him safe and away from any idea of leaving Tatooin.
I wonder how he found out
Wasn’t in the comics where Obi wan knew about Vader being Anakin?
I don't care how many times I've heard it, Darth Vader breathing will always give me chills.

I love how when obi-wan talks, he's got a bit of the Alec Guinness in his tone. Really connects to the original trilogy.
The prequels were better than the original trilogy
You mean when Ewan McGregor speaks? Because Obi-wan is partially Alec Guinness already, & both actors are Scots, so yeah, they share the same accent.
I read that in the prequel trilogy Ewan made it a point to imitate Alec's accent and diction as much as possible.
@@trayvonandrews6278 The Original and prequels are the best. The sequels should stay where they belong; at the bottom of my house in the sewers
@@trayvonandrews6278 please mate don’t start a war
i realized it makes perfect sense for one last Darth Vader confrontation. obi wan later says "he's more machine now than man. twisted and evil." he wouldn't know that from the way he left him on Mustafar. but seeing him one more time as Vader, would cause Obi Wan to know that. and there should be a hint of remorse and sadness in obi wan in this encounter, and Vader's ruthlessness squishes that forever. so in A New Hope, obi wan does not seem remorseful at all, but only sees Vader as a villain. it's a perfect "bridge piece" if done right.
If they meet again then Vader's "When I left you I was but a learner" line would make him look like an Alzheimer's ridden dotard.
Absolutely right
No, it doesn't. You're completely missing the part when vader tells him that, when he last left him, he was learner.
I do like this interpretation, though the "when i left you" line kinda contradicts it a bit. I think the best way to work it in would be kenobi finding out who vader is, without a confrontation; it cements kenobi's belief that he really is lost, without cheapening the duel in ANH. But, I'm sure that's not what they'll do.
I thought he said that in rotj
love how they really did a “bait and switch” on us. thanks a lot
This show really brought back memories. If there's two people you feel really sad for it's Obi and Anakin. Both great souls but both lost. Nothing pains me more than to see Anakin trying so hard to be good but just couldn't find the light, and his love for Padme was used against him by Palpatine. I believe he is the strongest Jedi. Even stronger than his son Luke. To me Anakin has always been the main character, not Luke. No one has gone through the pain and suffering he went through. Losing his wife and both his kids, losing everyone he loved or cared for. That's what the Darkside does to all of us even in real life. That's why you feel so much fro Anakin than anyone else. What if we could just save him from turning evil. He would've been a great leader.
Take it easy..
That's an interesting different perspective
Balderdash. The whole series is about R2D2. The rest is backstory.
Well said, and I completely agree.
Nobody aksed
I know we’re psyched to see some of the more recognised familiar faces again but I love how they’re going to be bringing much needed depth to Uncle Owen and his justified frosty relationship with Obi-wan. Can’t believe they got Joel Edgerton to reprise his extremely (and criminally) limited stint as a young Owen Lars in the prequel movies.
So true, that was one of his early rope tbf
read my name!
Criminally limited? It was like his 8th real movie, an he hadn't done anything special prior to Star Wars. He wasn't cast into a roll with a ton of screen time, what makes you think he deserves more? My only possible guess is that you're Australian and biased.
Owen Lars was a minor character. There was no need to flesh him out in Revenge of the Sith. If some "Star Wars" fans had their way they would have had the original films delve more into the back story and motivation of unnamed Imperial officers and mouse droids.

So true, and well said. Episode six was done beautifully.

I might be in the minority, but I don't like the idea of Vader and Obi-Wan meeting again before Episode 4. Partly because of that brilliant reimagined Scene 38 video in my personal canon. Watching Vader in that I just think, "that is someone who fights like his opponent left him limbless and burning on a lava shore the last time they met." That pent up 20 years of rage just makes it even better for me.
I know he should have stuck a laser sword in Anakin's face when he had he chance.
I love the line "You can't escape him". Gives off the feeling that the inquisitors aren't hunting Obi-Wan to kill him but to bring him to Darth Vader because they realize Vader is obsessed with this one particular Jedi and wants to kill Obi-Wan himself.

Disney have finally realized that the prequals were truer to the originals than their own sequals
I want a show called “Skywalker”, which would take place before “The Force Awakens”. Because, I want to see how Luke vanishes and goes the planet Ahch-Too.
I cannot wait to hear Maestro John Williams' New Theme for Obi Wan Kenobi!!!
So you can just cram in well known themes together, because you can't help yourself, like honestly I dare you to make a song/ mix thats empire themed that doesn't involve imperial march, or the other empire themes that creators who clearly tried something new were able to create... like if Ludwig, John and giaccino were able to create completely original themes for the empire without the use of williams music, you can do the same. I doubt you can though... you can't make original music, only mix existing music together lol
Can’t wait to hear your covers and epic remixes thrive when this series drops on Disney+.

It also reminds me of the experience I've shared with my dad and friends who grew up with me. And I am very happy to watch this new series. Owen is gonna be such a fascinating force in this show, he’ll be dragging his heels a lot and bringing up kenobi’s trauma a lot I feel
He's probably in it for the one scene in the trailer and never again. The show's gonna focus on big dumb action scenes instead of well crafted character moments, take that to the bank.
@@bloozbyblueballs5908 i seriously doubt, in first trailer there was scene with owen lars i think he is one of main characters

All I see in Obi-Wan's face is sadness and regret so deep beyond imagination. The boy he found on the desert planet became his apprentice. More than that he considered his brother and the Chosen One, destined to save the universe once and for all. Now, after so many years, after every loss, Obi-Wan is still with the Force and has faith, that Luke is last for the galaxy far away. May the Force be with you, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the one I would proudly call my master and friend.
Edit: Three weeks before I'll be able to see it. May the Force keep me from spoilers.
I should of known the Jedi were plotting to take over!
Obi-Wan is still very much fighting with his regrets and his attachments, even now. It's a far cry from the wise old Jedi master we'll see in a New Hope.

ALMOST ONE YEAR LATER feel like this show missed , could have easily been the best show or movie (which they initially planned) it would've broken records beating force awakens in box office collection, no hate but the set, theme scoring and the storyline was very misdirected. however, if you take into consideration how they handled the character of Vader/Anakin and lightsaber choreography that carries the show to decency.
Rewatched Kenobi and realized I could not fully appreciate the portrayal of 3rd sister in a single viewing. Magnificent
No Matter how good or bad the Series will be, I'm hyped to see Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan!

As well as Hayden and hopefully to see him worked with a far better script. Watch Shattered Glass, you can see how good of an actor he is when he's given the right material to work with

The last episode is entertaining (also notice how the best episode has the least amount of Leia in it lol), but the show as a whole is just borderline mediocre or under-average. 6 or maybe 5 out of 10.
@@Howlingburd19 nah, it was way up 8/10
@@DarthVader-ky4qx all of the characters; whether it’s their arcs or their relationships, feel very weak and artificial. For example, the relationship between Obi-Wan and Leia… it’s just so thin, and unlike the Mandalorian and Grogu when they face adversity, there’s barely any impact when Obi-Wan and Leia face adversity. Overall, the show feels very rushed, the plot isn’t very good, it lacks consistency, the performances are mixed, the main antagonist isn’t very good, and some visuals look quite fake (practical effects and special effects).
