    Absolutely f...g amazing. Vietnam's topography is so diverse. I sort of chuckled at the end of the video when you thanked us, I can't speak for other viewers but it's I who should thank you for doing this and videoing it for us. It's hard enough to traverse the caves and stream but to video it too is difficult so much appreciated.

    13:13 Cheveyo, my heart literally skipped a beat with that slip!!! I can't believe they don't clip you into something. In Sandals no less! This is like the ladders of Everest crossing between the glacier cracks....
    This reminds me of the movie The Descent. Don't watch it before going to a cave please.
    That coral has to be several millions of years old from when Vietnam was under water. Insane!

      I kept thinking about The Descent when we were there 😂 The guides had a surprising amount of faith that we could handle ourselves across those chasms. Completely unlike any tour any of us have been on. Vietnam is like the Wild West in some ways! 🤣

    Fantastic adventure!. Vietnam has sooooo much to offer, it really spoils you. Your dad is clearly having the adventure of a lifetime too it seems : ) Great you are taking some time to just chill as well. More coming your way too. Something to consider when you leave Vietnam is Laos. It too has some great stuff to see.

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  2 года назад

      We feel very fortunate to be exploring Vietnam before it gets completely developed by/for tourism. Still feels a bit raw, in a good way.
      Laos is very intriguing. Are we right in thinking that it’s much less populated than other SEA countries? Looking at the maps, it’s pretty big and only 7m people…

    • @davesivirn2283
      @davesivirn2283 2 года назад +1

      @@OnePackWanderers Yes Laos is way less populated, more small villages ect. really only a few population centers. It is fairly large in terms of land mass, I only rode in the north north western part so far. Again great riding but need a bit more substantial bike, like a 250 if you are riding two up. I would say that Laos is more rustic, not dangerous if you pay attention, (they still have land mines) so stay in the approved areas. The people are great and lots of amazing things to see. Just like Vietnam is like Thailand 20 years ago, laos is like Vietnam 10 years ago. You two have really been upping your skills as adventure travelers and I think you would have no issues with Laos. Even if you just sort of high spot it with places like Luang Prabang, (already touristed but cool) Phonsavan (plain of jars, spooky and cool) Vangviang ( former backpack haven now more rave and party) but fun lol.. As is the case most of the country out side these enclaves is beautiful and locals are sweet. over all a bit harder core, not for newbies, but really worth doing in my opinion.

      We setup this tour through a lady named Lynn. She owns Green River Homestay in Phong Nha, and you can reach her through the info you find on Google if you search her homestay.

    Why don't they put double robes in case you missed one you could catch another, and why don't they put the handles on sides of the ladder to be secure.

      Probably makes it more exciting. When there's a chance of death, you get that rush. LOL! But yeah, I can see some idiot not holding tight or taking chances and dying in either circumstance.

    definetely looks like sumting in would want to visit
    as for the darkness in the cave , now you know what i was talking about in the comment under the last video where i found myself in a cave with the pocketlight going ouut (add to that the uncertanty of being able to find the / any exit out of the cave)
    those caves i mentioned where verry different thought they where dry actually

    What was the name of this cave tour , and were there any really tight spots you had to crawl through ?

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  2 года назад

      Not sure of the name of the tour. Lynn, the owner of our homestay, arranged it all. The homestay is called 'Green River Cozy' and I'd highly recommend at least stopping by to talk to Lynn. She's passionate about caving, and she's brilliant. There's a huge range of tours in Phong Nha, and having someone to help navigate them was invaluable.

      @@OnePackWanderers Great thank you.... I am doing the same route as you , Jan 9 to March 2 .... What all did you have to show at the Lao Bao crossing ( will be my visa run crossing as well ) 2 passport photos of what size ? , 50 USD cash , how many covid vaccines ,and did they ask? etc etc

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  2 года назад

      Getting into Laos, we only needed passports and $40 USD per person. On paper, full vaccination (2+ doses) is also required but nobody asked.
      Getting back into Vietnam, you need a valid e-visa and of course your passport again. No Covid requirements.
