Just with regard to the « en » used with modes of transportation, if you want to say, “on foot,” you need to say: « à pied » instead of « en pied » and Iʼm assuming thatʼs because your feet arenʼt a separate mode of transportation. Itʼs the same in English since we wouldnʼt say, “by foot,“ but just for anyone wondering how to say, “on foot.”
True. Feet are not a mode of transportation.... We say also "à cheval" and not "en cheval" (on the back of an horse, i don't know how do you say in english). but we say "en carosse", even if it's drawn by horses.
@@thierryf67 Thank you for your reply! I didnʼt know how to say, “by horse” so now it makes sense why itʼs « à pied ».
Speaking of which, in English we would say, “by horse” in the same way we would say, “by train” or “by bus,” etc., so itʼs interesting that English and French deviate when it comes to animals as modes of transportation.

I can't hear the dans-en explanation enough. I recently listened to her older lesson about it, and I appreciate this new one, too. Don't know why this is so difficult for my American brain! Lol.
