I love how she not only explains the French but the concept of what a past participle is for those of us who haven't studied much linguistics or grammar. I love how her videos are all labeled clearly and are specific and focused. I love how she has practice videos as well as just teaching videos. I'm so glad I discovered this channel. She's my favorite French youtuber.

I am a little confused , i can see you use the present participle in order to make a past tanse in French as an example 'I walked' is not the same as 'I have walked' and using present participle in English the action of the verb starts in the past but its effect still exits in the present tanse . Thanks for your answer in advance !

Hi alexa. With the Tom et moi example for Parler, why isnt an S added to Parle, when it talking about WE as in Nous Avons? Do we only use Plural form of past participle when using Etre as the helping verb? Dont we use Plural forms when using Avoir?
Absolument, unless the past participle is used with ETRE, you will also find the agreement with AVOIR if the Direct Object pronoun is placed before it. J'ai acheté la pomme = Je l'ai achetée... (pomme if feminine so L' refers to LA and is therefore feminine).

English for the past participle of EAT, we also use I ATE, and we can also say I HAVE EATEN.
Dear Craig, yes that's right. In French however, it is always 'composé' = I have eaten. :)

How can we know when and in which verb we have to add etre or avoir in passe compose mam.
You use ETRE in the passé composé for either reflexive verbs or movement verbs. Please check my videos on these 2 topics. :)
Should cuisinée be used after Elle a cuisineé....?
