I’m quite happy these games came to be, if only for what remix culture has given us in the years since. Still, Wacky Worlds could’ve been... something, I guess!
I am surprised no one did a hack to finish Wacky Worlds. Come to think of it...if someone based Mario or Zelda games off of Phillip's interpretation, would Nintendo be able to impose a cease and desist?
It probably would have been trash knowing the cdi reputation.

It's a *major* stretch, but you could argue this eventually became Odyssey... though I kinda doubt anyone who worked on Odyssey really remembered this obscure pitch from 20 years prior!

The fatal flaw here was the fact it was developed on that scuffed piece of crap, the CDi. Maybe I'm a bit clueless on how this stuff was back in the 90s but if they'd pitched this as a SNES title, perhaps we could've ended up with a beloved sequel to the already excellent Super Mario World.
This game was doomed to fail. Either it wouldn’t come out at all, or it would suck like all the other CDI games. The art looks like a bad fangame. Nice video though
