This is nothing compared to what he did to a couple of other Jedi in Legends... Master Ronhar Kim, an old friend of Palpatine (or so he thought), and his Padawan Tap-Nar-Pal came up with a plan to test the Senators for midi-chlorians, in an attempt to uncover Darth Sidious, and asked Palpatine to volunteer in order to convince the rest of the Senate to do so.
Palpatine asked for some time to think about it and then immediately contacted Dooku to have a trap set up for both Jedi, causing them to be overwhelmed and brutally slaughtered in a battle and killing their plan (which they hadn't told anyone else, not even the Jedi Council) with them. Not only that, but he also used the deaths of the Jedi to boost his own popularity afterwards.

Palpatine is one of the most genius villain of all time. Maybe even more than the Joker. To bad Qui-Gon died in the first movie. He would have find out the secret of Palpatine.
Definitely Palapatine because if you think about it, he killed two birds with one stone. He killed the Jedi, who had no clue about the clones. Secondly, he killed the separatist leaders, who were very wealthy and tricked them to go against the Jedi. Actually, three birds because Aniken was manipulated by Palpatine since he was a child, and made him turn to the Darkside to become the biggest jedi killer in the history of Star Wars. Palp is clever one.

most definitely, qui gon didnt focus on the future, he examined what was going on right in front of him. thats the mistake the jedi made i think when they first learned of darth sidious, the clues were all there, dooku practically shouted darth sidious' true identity in attack of the clones. but the jedi were trying to see beyond the war. as qui gon said in the phantom menace, be mindful of the future but not at the expense of the present.

I have spent countless hours trying to shoehorn in a palpatine vs kenobi scene without breaking canon or resulting in obi wans death and unfortunately it just isnt possible, I would like to hear some thoughts on this.
Yoda could have waited for Kenobi to face anakin in order to see if he was successful. The reason being if Kenobi failed Yoda would go to finish the job.
Then Yoda AND obi wan go face sideous in full force as they want to make sure that they finally put a stop to the sith

Your feelings betray you, Obi didn't hate Palpatine, he rejected him, knowing that the only Person capable of training Anakin was a Jedi and the teachings of the order are not given to Palps as he is not part of it.
Any corruption could be fatal, even if it is a fatherly advise, or seems like that, it may be not fitting and could lead to a darker path as a jedis mind should be free and guided by the force, not a Chancellor.
So Obi Wan was weary of Palpatine because he was leading Anakin away from the religious organization that kidnapped him, left his mother to rot on a far away planet, made him swear an oath of loyalty otherwise he would be kicked out, constantly put him down, and had Mace Windbag for a master? Yeah...

I’m assuming the droid is like Proxy. It can mimic the movements of combatants, in this case Darth Maul, but will always be outclassed by the one it’s copying. If this is the case then padawan Anakin was not a match for Maul.
