I have no doubt a lot of younger kids and teens will dig TF1 which it does not appeal to me personally. But by it doing well it grows the brand for more films,figures,comics. To me the G1 incarnation will always be the best but this film could be what gets someone into Transformers.
The issue with movie stars doing voice acting is that it takes work away from people who only have a career in voice acting. Voice actors usually CAN'T do on camera acting and most TV/Movie actors can't do voice overs. The two biggest exceptions: Mark Hamel: Luke Skywalker and the best Joker of all time and Keith David who's done several movies as well as the voice of Goliath from Gargoyles and the voice of HBO Spawn cartoon. Also Michael Dorn "Worf" from Star Trek TNG does great voice work. But keep in mind that as good as Mark Hamel is as the Joker he was doing voice acting because he COULDN'T get work as a regular actor being type cast as Luke Skywalker back in the day. I mean did you ever see "Corvette Sunmer." -echhh. So the real issue is movie stars are taking the jobs of voice actors who can't get other work.
This new animated Transformers ONE movie is for the kids, it isn’t for grown adults who grew up on the original series. This isn’t for us and I am okay with that. Think of it this way, it’s actually a nice way to bridge the gap between adults and their children. Everything from the 80’s isn’t just for fans that grew up in that era. Hasbro owns the rights of the Transformers IP and are in the business of making revenue, period. The year is 2024, not 1984.
I grew up in the 80s so those were my Transformers. Saying that, I've always enjoyed different iterations of the characters. It gets boring when characters always look the same for so long. Transformers one looks awesome and I cant wait to watch the movie and get the figures.

So well put, every generation has their own-“Transformers”, I really loved the Bumblebee film, the first 5-6 mins really hit home that we could have an Awesome character driven sequel but that got drawn, quartered, and got its face blasted off by making that “rise of the beasts”sequel. I remember when Chris Evans got cast as Captain America and I would’ve probably been in that camp “But but he’s Human torch”, had I not see him in the film “Sunshine” by Danny Boyle, Evans plays a career soldier, This mission is literally all that matters at all cost and you watch that and think….Oooh, That’s What they wanted for Steve. My 12 yr old is at the age that He just Loves transformers, my 2 yr old loved the new trailer, I imagine it’ll replace encanto & bluey as her favorite, and that’s okay. I’m just glad they’re able to enjoy it for what it is. It’s like what you say, enjoy what you enjoy and peace to everything else. It’s just the right thing to do.

I wanted more of what they already gave us in the beginning of Bumblebee. It's not asking too much because they already showed us it can be done. I was gonna go see Rise Of The Beasts until I saw what they did to him. They totally destroyed Wheeljack. I 100% reject Pablo! Wheeljack has been my favorite Autobot since I first saw him in 1984. What an insult! I will *NEVER* watch Rise Of the Beasts & I never gave that movie a single penny. And I never even bought 1 single toy from that movie. As far as Heath Ledgers Joker I'm going to get flamed on this but I don't think he was a good Joker. He was a GREAT VILLIAN, but not the Joker. He was always one tone, same all the time. Where as Jack Nicholson was silly sometimes, scarry at others, crazy, comical, dark, petty, and smart. Although he was WAY TOO FAT to be the Joker proper. He did manage to play all the different moods of the Joker. Ledger didn't. And the final nail in the coffin is that Heath Ledger COULDN'T do any type of crazy LAUGH as the Joker...period. You NEVER saw him Laugh which is a pretty big part of playing the Joker. The closest you ever saw was a clever edit of a tape where Joker was torturing someone then it went all shaky can and they dubbed Ledger laughing on the video after taking SEVERAL SEVERAL attempts of him trying to get him to Laugh. Again, he was a great villian just not a good Joker. His death prior to thr movie is whay elevated his role to where it is.
8:45 wasn't the voice in the lego movies, Chris Pratt, i.e. the Chris that played thw MCU's Starlord? 🤔 i wonder what they'll have Chris Evans do voiceover for. (Funny you mentioned him around 14:15)
My only issues with this movie are the voices because I’m an 80s kid and the OG voices are the only voices these characters should have lol and second….I’m sick of bumble bee…. They should have had him replaced with another bot
