As you can imagine, we decided to just strap on bombs and go after bomb targets while the Ariete's could do nothing but continue to fail at catching us. It was a very boring end to the match.
Sea vixen was immensely fun for the longest time. After the last major missile rework sadly the missiles are pretty useless. Red tops used to kill reliably at around 2 to 2.5 km. Now you have to slip them into the target right off the rail.

Sea Vixen was my first missile kill when I joined Missile Thunder in my F-100D. Not long after that, I gave up missiles entirely for grinding in my F-100 and stuck to base bombing, since it was just more reliably profitable.
Added this video to warch later and thought I might've found a cool new WT creator. Luckily I was recommended an old joala video so I went to his uploads to see if he'd uploaded any new content. Saved me a lot of time.
I struggle to get kills with it, mostly because it doesn't have a gun. The missiles are okay, but they struggle to hit a target that is moving AT ALL even if they are just slightly moving faster than you in a straight line. The gun problem though. I have been in SO many situations where if I had a gun I would have gotten the kill. So many pointless dogfights because I can't do anything about it. I don't play War Thunder anymore so it isn't a problem anymore.
This plane can actually dogfight 1v1. The thing is that nobody expects that and you get limited time to kill them once they overshoot. Very satisfying ☺️

The missile knows where it is at all times! It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is - whichever is greater - it obtains a difference or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviation to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is, to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position that it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information that the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice versa. And by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

It really isn’t. If you’re in a P51 you can play speed/energy without running away until the enemy turns around. With the sea vixen you have no choice but to run until the enemy has to do something else, and you always can because it’s ridiculously faster than everything.
