Terry Silver Was Taught by Sato (Miyagi's Best Friend) - Cobra Kai Season 3 Theory

- Terry Silver and John Kreese of Cobra Kai Dojo served their time for their country. Who was the Karate teacher in Okinawa for Americans? Sato!
We see this in Karate Kid 2, where Sato was breaking the log in the poster at the airport, where Mr. Miyagi and Daniel LaRusso stop to look at it.
My Cobra Kai Theory is that Sato had at some point, trained Terry Silver and Kreese, who either took their teachings and turned it into Cobra Kai, or used the already established Cobra Kai to embelish their Karate with Sato during their service.
In The Karate Kid 1984, we see Daniel walk into Cobra Kai and on the wall hangs a portrait of John Kreese, Captain of US Army and the Karate Champion from 70-72.
Kreese and Silver fought in the war together, is it possible that they passed through Okinawa like hundreds of thousands of others? Is it possible that, being a Karate Champion during the war, could they not have come in close contact with Sato, THE Karate trainer of Americans?
I think there could be an interesting connection here that would make for an interesting connection.
I would love to see something like it!

Do you believe everything Silver said about his Master from Korea?
Or...does this theory add up?
Cobra Kai used a lot of kicks for karate,(Ignoring the fact its based of Tang Soo Do a Korean Karate),either its a Korean Karate,or Taekwondo(aka safespace Karate)
Between this and Star Wars Theory you make up like 50% of my entertainment for the day. Thank you very much for what you do.
@@dsgarland hahaha glad to hear that
Maybe he had been instructed by different Senseis.
The theory has merit, but you are forgetting one AGAINST factor. There were more than just one person hired for instructing people in the US Military. It is indeed possible, yes, dont get me wrong. This is an interesting theory, but I do think it might be a stretch. Also, I wouldn't like it, because they are then shrinking the world of Karate Kid and Cobra Kai instead of expanding it.
“There are no bad students; only bad teachers.”
-Mr. Miyagi
That’s one of the dumbest things miyagi said tbh lmao
@@humzaqureshi1391 why?
That’s a lesson to Daniel that says don’t attack something that doesn’t attack you or something like that
@@humzaqureshi1391 I don't believe that one bit, we are taught from birth and learn everything we know from individuals; for someone to set out to teach principals and skills to another should know that what's taught to that student will reflect their teachings thus the teacher

If Sato taught Silver, he didn't do a very good job cause Miyagi dismantled his ass pretty damn quickly. Lol

Wouldn’t Mr. Miyagi recognize his family’s style of karate being used by cobra kai in the first movie if this was true.
If the theory holds up its probably a watered-down version of what sato taught them. Who knows they probably only took the very bad stuff and put their spin on it🤷♂️
he may have had his suspicions, but just kept his cool.
If this theory is true I'll stop watching cobra Kai.
No because never teach all secrets to foreigner
DISHOL Nah, it doesn’t add up. The crane kick that defeated Jonny in KK1 was a Miyagi family thing, which is why Chozen didn’t fall for it in KK2, as Sato had taught it to Chozen so he could counter it. Therefore Sato would have taught it to Creese and Silver and therefore Creese would have taught it to Jonny. The fact that Creese and Jonny has never seen it makes me believe Sato didn’t train Creese.
Maybe Miyagi knew this and he felt bad about "Miyagi-do" karate being use to bully Daniel,so he decided to train him
No problem with the RUclips statement is that Terry silver mentioned a Korean master that him and John Kris studied under in Karate Kid Part 3 he said it in the backyard to Miyagi
@T.A. Garcia you might be right but Daniel only fought cobra kai a couple times (and only in the movies, because hus fight with Joahnny was barely a fight) so he couldn't have recognized the style
@@mateo8492 Maybe Miyagi knew more about Kreese than we thank. Even before he met Kreese he told Daniel no such thing as bad student only teacher bad. It could be now interpreted as he knew who Kreese was and what "tree" he came from.
Well, the style and technique as well as execution are so different, I don't think Miyagi recognized it. Where it is possible, is when he visits the dojo and hear's Kreese barking orders. It's possible the "Strike first, Strike hard, No Mercy" was something Sato taught and it reminded Miyagi.
That makes so much sense!
Holy shit! Just imagine Daniel and Johnny’s reaction if they found out that Sato trainee Kreese and Silver, that means that Cobra Kai is really Miyagi-Do!
Since Miyagi & Sato knew each other for years Daniel may wonder if Miyagi knew that Sato trained Silver & Kreese. My thought is no Miyagi was living his own life in another country.
That would be crazy plot twist. Never know, could happen.
Interesting, if Sato trained John Kreese and Terry Silver, this would change everything. Sato would've been the founder of Cobra Kai!!!!!
Sato wasn't the founder he thought people with honor. Unfortunately Kreese and Silver alternate it for their advantage.
@@ozairdurrani9679 I'm not saying he is the founder of Cobra Kai, I'm just making a theory.
I like the idea of mixing Korean and Okinawan karate. Reminds me of how Jeet Kune Do borrowed a lot from other styles like various Kung Fu styles
@@ozairdurrani9679 was Chosen honorable?
And unintentionally because by the time, Sato thought Miyagi was his enemy
This is your best theory yet!
Because it’s very deep yet realistic, and intellectually makes sense.
This would come off as well researched and believable to the viewer.
Danny: can YOU do that, Mr Miyagi?
Miyagi: don't know. Haven't been attacked by a tree yet
*gets stomped by an ent*
Or Groot.
I remember this line, and I just had to laugh! Miyagi was the BEST!
Lol
I am Groot!
I am Miyagi!
Lol. But miyagi CAN DO IT THO. he broke that beam durring the storm....
Miyagi's style is based in circular movements. Cobra's is linear and direct. But, I guess writers could walk around and say that Sato taught a militarized version of it.
The whole concept is reflective of karate itself. Karate originated in Okinawa is as far away from Japanese Karate like Shotokan which then influenced Tang Soo Do. Japanese Karate is much more focus on how the techniques are executed rather than why they're done. In Okinawa, karate is a way of life. Japanese Karate is an artform. The difference happened when the practice was taken out of Okinawa.
@@rumblefish9 came from China
This is exactly what I was going to say.
.
Miyagi is a soft circular style. Cobra Kai is a hard linear style. They bear zero resemblance. If Sato and Miyagi were taught the same style, their subsequent styles could be altered, but wouldn't likely do so significantly. So Sato teaching Kreese and Silver would be another alteration but not likely to be as different of a style as Cobra Kai is from Miyagi-do.
Also karate isn't a natural Korean martial art. If Silver and Kreese learned from a master in South Korea it would be far more likely they learned Taekwondo or Tang Soo Do.
Rewatching KK3, Silver is more leg focused which leads me to think maybe he did learn Taekwondo instead (TKD is very similar to Karate but has a definitive focus on kicking as opposed to hand strikes or being well rounded as Karate is). in this Cobra Kai isn't even the same style that Terry Silver exhibits in the Karate Kid 3. From every thing I've seen what Silver practices is different from what Kreese practices which is different from the style Johnny practices which is very far removes from the style Chozen, Daniel and Miyagi practice.
This linking of the two style would be amazing, but I don't think them originating from the same source is feasible.. Better if Daniel and Johnny combine their styles together and create a new one.
@@chuckles2035 silver even tells miyagi that his teacher is from Korea in KK 3. They use some Korean terminology in Cobra Kai also...
@@anthonygerber8261 do they now? Because I've yet to hear a single word of Korean being spoken when referring to cobra Kai. Is it because of the "gi" they wear? Because we don't call it that in Korean martial arts, it's a dobok. Or is it the school? I'm sorry dojang.. Yeah haven't heard the one yet either. How about a kick? Or chagi? No? Huh..
Hana, dul, set, net? No?
Yeah they don't use Korean terminology in cobra kai.
I taught taekwondo for a decade, nothing cobra Kai is Korean. If it is, it tries very hard to be Japanese.

@@KingExituS ikr it feels like multiple eternities!!
Also, and someone may have already told you oh, so forgive me if I'm just repeating somebody else's correction, but Miyagi and Daniel went to Okinawa in 1985, despite the Karate Kid 2 being a 1986 film, they left for Okinawa only 6 months following the 1984 all Valley tournament. The Karate Kid 3, took place in 1985 as well and it was the 1985 all Valley tournament that Daniel faced Mike Barnes. This was even specifically pointed out in Cobra Kai season 1.
This would mean that Miyagis father started everything and the with him teaching Sato karate as an exception to the rule of only teaching father to son would’ve resulted in Cobra Kai
Close. It means Miyagi himself set Cobra Kai up. He begged his father to make the exception, y‘know.
@anthony hudson Not according to The Karate Kid 2.
@anthony hudson I have no idea what you are talking about but in Karate Kid and Karate Kid 2 Miyagi says he was trained by his father and so was Sato.
@anthony hudson I don't know where you are getting your information. Have you seen the movie?
@anthony hudson Mr. Miyagi couldn't of lied or else his father, Sato, and many other people lied with him in the movies. With that being said, the movie is well researched and I doubt the movies are wrong. Did you grow up in Okinawa?
Could this be the secret Miyagi was hiding and could Daniel and Johnny join their two dojo’s together and in the process bringing balance to the valley!!!😇😉😉✊

I hope the producers have already thought about that possibility.
It would make the experience a lot more interesting.

YES!!!!!
Wow that's worth a match!
Kumiko vs Amanda.
What about Kumiko vs Amanda?
Hey thanks yeah I just figured Daniel Loves both Amanda and Kumiko. And They Both Love Him. Yet, there are several references to the possibility of divorce for Amanda and Daniel in the series. At least, That is the way I feel.
Extremely plausible! Philosophies and techniques do indeed change over time as the next generation of students use and develop them. Love this and now am even more stoked about season 3!
There was a reference that Kreese's style was Tang Soo Do (Korean style translating to Way of the China Hand). When Silver said that his & Kreese's teacher (in either Tang Soo Do, Tae Kwon Do or Hapkido) was Korean, it's believable. Silver was fond of kicking which is a trait of Korean martial arts. In reality, the actor holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Although cross-training martial arts during the war may have been possible, a reason to disregard Sato as their teacher is that his style was Okinawan Goju-Ryu which is a style that does not use kicks to the degree that Silver used them. Goju-Ryu tends to use more hand techniques and applies fewer basic, non-flashy kicks. Again, more kicking is what differentiates Korean martial arts from Okinawan Karate. Besides, his hand techniques did not resemble Goju-Ryu. So I believe Silver's teacher/Sabumnim was Korean.
Yep, I can see a lot of this coming to fruition. Maybe not necessarily through Sato, but as far as finding out that Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai were founded by the same person and are basically the "light side/dark side" of the same style....I do think that's where the series is eventually headed.
Been following your page for a while now and I’ve got to say this is one of the best theories you’ve put out there. This would be crazy if it comes to fruition.

I've been kicking this Theory around for a few months and it seems like the best. The only thing I would add is that Cobra Kai is the Yin to Myagi Do's Yang so Johnny and Daniel may eventually teach each other, their Karate...
This theory aged like cottage cheese.
bc of lack of research, martial arts RUclipsr broke down johnny and daniel fighting technique and they came up with cobra kai uses tang soo do with a mix of taekwondo and Miyagi is actually Goju ryu. he is trying to push this franchise version of "the stark and Targaryen = jon snow" theory
That makes perfect sense I never thought of it that way it would be a wonderful plot points span and unite the two

Thank you - your predictions are excellent, let's see how they pan out.
Your awesome, great upload
I've been saying this since day one I also think that Miagi's father taught both of them but Sato took the darker more violent version and Miyagi took the light more defensive version. Everything comes full circle and with the two combined one learns to be a confident badass (Cobra Kai) but how to harness the badassery and maintain complete balance (Miyagi-do).
Its basically the philosophy of Jung wrapped up in a TV show one cannot know their true self until they know their shadow. Harnessing that shadow is not as simple as ignoring it that just makes it stronger, you need to know your shadow and how to use it so it can stay placated.
This is also a possibility maybe Sato knew the teacher that taught Silver & Kreese & perhaps maybe even being friends with him as well.
Well thought out theory! :)
This is one of my favourite videos and theory’s
Kreese/Silver/Cobra Kai is clearly different in style than Miyagi-Do.
It's possible that Cobra Kai is a mixture of both Sato and Kim Sun Yung's teachings.
Yes but if you remember karate kid 2 when Daniel and yumokove where looking into sato dojo they where watching satos student sparring it's more like cobra kai karate
yes they are supposed to be different although the fight choreography doesn't always stay within the designated styles.
That would be a real shocking twist
Amazing theory! Love it
Love your vids keep it up
He did train American soldiers in Okinawa Daniel girlfriend even said so in Karate Kid 2 and Chozen his nephew was his number 1 student and helped Sato train American soldiers
Very smart and creative theory. You come up with some good stuff that nobody else has theorized. That would be very interesting if it happens and they go that route.
Gotta admit the title had me going "Yeah, right" but you made some really good arguments.
Please do Miguel vs Mike Barnes( Karate Kid 3 )
No contest. Barnes destroys miguel.
Dumb match up. Miguel is overrated. Barnes versus Johnny is the dream match.
Why should a grown man like Mike Barnes fight a boy like Miguel?
Oliver Arndt i meant Young Mike Barnes vs Miguel
@@rileycantreid6214 Barnes was an established fighter in kk3. He'd have beaten Miguel easily.
I could see it, easily. When he meant "Korea" he could have easily just meant during that War.
This is your best theory yet! I hope it comes true in season 3
Dude your videos are really good 😁🤘🏻
Sato's style of karate was totally different from what Kreese taught. Sato was Okinawan and taught Okinawan karate. Silver mentioned that their instructor was from Korea in kk3 and you can clearly see that the style is very korean like with the kicks and flashy moves. It looks more like Tang Soo do. Sorry but doesn't seem possible to me.
Exactly!
I think the show actually mentions once that Silver's master was Korean and in the military Kreese's and Silver's instructor was trained in Tang Soo Doo
@@WillofStone08 yep it was. So unless Sato had Korean ties with some masters or trainers over there (he did teach military) it's highly unlikely.
@@WillofStone08 however I did notice something interesting in kk4 (probably not intentionally done) but some of the moves Miyagi teaches Julie look to be Tang Soo Do moves not Okinawan karate moves🤔. Maybe they wanted something flashier for the movie but I never really understood why they changed it up from the obvious Goju Ryu style they based it off from the first movie (although they still had wax on wax off in there).
This doesn't make sense, Cobra Kai is Korean karate most likely Tang Soo Do. Miyagi Do is Okinawan karate which is closer to Tae Kwan Do. I don't think everything and everyone is going to have that close of a connection because it would massively shrink the Cobra Kai/Karate Kid universe
I wish they will have a history of Miyagi and Soto when they were young and learning Karate and how their rivalry started.
BOOM!! My mind was just blown, thanks
Taking information from the past movies and building on that history makes a lot of sense. It also fits with what Johnny's son Robby told Johnny: in Episode 10 of season 2: " You can learn a lot from each other."
So if Daniel and Johnny learn that Cobra Kai games out of Sato's teaching, then they a have common foundation to form an alliance.
Entirely plausible, all of the above. Well speculated, as always.
p.s. Always assumed that Silver was lying about Kim Sun-Yung. I doubt very highly that any of what he said was true.
When Daniel had Kyler over for dinner and was talking to him about the knife he was using, he mentioned "on my first trip to Okinawa"..kinda implies he has been more than once. If Chozen wanted him dead and hated him, seems he wouldn't want to hang around Okinawa much. Which says to me him and Chozen have made peace at some point. The japan POV from the KK story has always been very interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with any secrets
Nice that was a great video I Really enjoyed it that would be awesome if that is mr Miyagi secret !
Sato taught Miyagi-Do karate, which was more of an offshoot of Goju Ryu, a traditional Okinawan art. He may have emphasised the more brutal aspects of the art, but it was still Miyagi-Do.
Cobra Kai, was more of a taekwondo style, which is based off of Japanese Karate and is quite different.
I doubt Silver was lying about it's origins.
That said, didn't Miyagi fight in the Korean war? Perhaps, he actually met their teacher in Korea as an enemy and fought him, not knowing his name. Or their teacher was saved by Miyagi, watching him fight and this inspired him to learn karate. I think that would be a much more interesting reason for Cobra Kai's origins. That it's formation was inspired by Miyagi Do in a positive way, as a means of hope and it was John Kreese and Terry Silver, who perverted it's teachings.
It would give Johnny and Daniel a stronger connection and perhaps inspire Johnny to want to search for a greater meaning to his art, while teaching Daniel that Miyagi's legacy has a far greater reach than the art he practises.
I think Miyagi fought in WW2. But this is a very well thought out theory and still could have elements that are incorporated into the show.
Miyagi was in the 442nd in WW2. His wife and baby died in the intern camps in California. Besides, Kreese and Silvers karate is completely different in training and delivery than Miyagi or even Sato.
I like your train of thoight but an issue i have with it is Kreece's style, with his hands especially, is very pure boxing orientated so perhaps kickboxing maybe a better comparison then tae kwon do?
After all this speculation it'd be a huge disappointment if Terry Silver doesn't turn up in season 3 lol 😂
I think he'll be in season 4
This is right up my alley!
Damn, rhis show just keeps expanding and getting even more interesting, my mind is blown away right now.
This theory was very clever, I would've never thought Sato trained kreese. I have a feeling that Mr. Miyagi knew about this, hence the statement "No bad student, only bad teacher".
I said it in another video that maybe they could also bring Michael Ironside character / Colonel Dugan from next karate kid to the show. He could possibly be a friend of Kreese and Silver.
Yes, totaly. The creatons in 1990 really were thinking of that and the continuation of conra kai today... hahahaaj
Theres so way miyagi would of known from the terry's fighting style
Just noticed the ad above in yellow for the first time. Sato didn't just train GIs, but he also looked after them, making sure they didn't get lonely all those thousands of miles away from home. Lol
holy cow, this is very good video.
Interesting theory. Feels like a bit of a reach though. We shall see...
I think Kreese and Silver twisted Sato's teachings.
I think they never met Sato at all. If they did they'd have provided more of a challenge to miyagi.
@@pablohanc As a plot point, Kreese and Silver will have probably some kind of connection to Sato. And the show is going to Okinawa for some reason and only indirectly for Daniel. The show is called Cobra Kai after all. Now for Kreese and Silver to remain functional villians , they need to say half truths. So Silver was probably telling a half truth about Kreese's teacher in KK 3.
@@merlin-ju6fu I'm sorry, but that would be an example of poor writing if that was the case. Having everybody linked in some way? Why? And why only indirectly for Daniel. Nobody else stateside has a connection to Okinawa. He is after all the lead character from the original films and one of the older leads from the new film, and the only connection to Mr Miyagi.
There's plenty of people out there who could teach Silver and Kreese, and as Sato was a master (and an honourable one whose one weakness was his hatred for Miyagi), probably of similar standing in ability to Miyagi (a more experienced teacher also), they would have given Miyagi far more trouble if Sato had taught them.
@@pablohanc Don't be sorry. I have seen so many dramas try to connect too many people. It is indirectly for Daniel because the show is called Cobra Kai. :) I heard one of the creative team say this is the story of Cobra Kai. What I would do is have the teacher of Kreese and Silver be taught by Sato. This would mirror Cobra Kai season 2 of Kreese being the teacher of Johnny. I agree with perspective on Sato. Out of curiousity, didn't Julie from Next Karate Kid travel with Mr Miyagi somewhere ???
@@merlin-ju6fu Julie an Mr Miyagi went on a road trip to a monastary. Thy never left the country.
It may be the story of Cobra Kai, but it is clearly also the continuing story of Daniel. If Daniel was to drop out of the series, as great as Johnny is (best character imo btw), it would lose half of its appeal. The rivalry and the will they ever become friends is a big part of the appeal.
For the record, I expect Daniel to travel to Okinawa to try and find some focus / balance. He will meet the lass and Chozen, and find Chozen to be a changed man (potentially Daniel may already be aware of this, potentially he may have been back already, cant remember if they have already mentioned if hes ever revisited the place). He will recieve a renewed focus from Chozen, and some additional training which Miyagi never gave him. I dont expect Johnny to accompany Daniel, but he may.
Eventually, probably in S4 or 5 daniel and Johnny will team up and take on Kreese and Silver, possibly Barnes also. There prize student will beat Kreeses number 1 student at the all valley, then there will be a showdwn where kreese and silver are taught a very hard lesson in how to fight from Daniel and Johnny. Personally, I'd like this confrontation to be as 1 sided as when they took on Miyagi.
I expect the series to end with Johnny and Daniel being very firm friends, Johnny to be reconciled with Miguels mother, and Miguel to be back to full fitness. I think it should end with a feel good ending.
Of course, something else may happen completely.
Great theory keep up the good work
This is the best theory i have heard so far!
This is an interesting theory indeed that could have legs. If this is true, then of course Sato, Chozen, Kreece and Silver could all be connected. I think it is possible that Dutch may have been Kreece's biological or illegitimate son using his mother's maden name. Dutch was really loyal to Kreece to the point that he wouldn't help Johnny when Kreece was choking him out.
Nah, it doesn’t add up.
@@brentmeistergeneral6074 I dunno. Its possible Sato adjusted his teaching for the US military to be more utilitarian than traditional. Military certainly wouldn't have had any interest in all the spiritual side of karate and the katas etc. The crane kick doesn't strike me as very useful in a real fight and I doubt Sato would really teach the military all the secrets.
This theory of Kreese and Silver being trained by Sato will ABSOLUTELY demolish the history of the Karate Kid Saga because right from Karate Kid I, we saw the mentality of both Kreese and Miyagi were completely different - Kreese, the type who goes round 'looking' for trouble by saying 'here - on the street - in competition, if a man faces you, he is the enemy.' This is an absolutely neurotic way of thinking. On the other hand, there is Miyagi - a very calm and placid person whose philosophy is 'let the fight come to you, if it is a matter of integrity'. So Sato could not have trained Kreese & Silver.
Perfectly said. ... Read my long comment explaining things. ... Kreese are Silver are very racist - even calling Myagi a "slope." There is no way Kreese and Silver would ever be associated with Japanese people.

Wow.. great theory!! I hope this comes to pass. Adding more depth into the already fantastic story line. Thus more great seasons and storylines to work with
Im not convinced based on the trainging styles,Miyagi do is all about the Kata, Cobra Kai is all sparring and conditioning, this could just be a preference in the teacher but its a massive difference...I do think that if Johnny gives up on Cobra Kai he will convert to Kyokushin like style. A form off karate where perseverance (toughness) can be your biggest strength
I totally agree they were both different.
Wrong! Miyagi do isn't just Kata and Cobra kai isn't just sparring and conditioning.
Miyagi teaches Goju-Ryu. Its not all katas, but katas are a big part of it. I think cobra kai is not really teaching karate at all. In the show they mentioned Tang Soo Do which is actually korean its very similar to taekwondo. Those high kicks are certainly more korean than japanese. Back in the 1980s I'm sure reese just called it karate to get students in the door. I don't recall seeing cobra kai do katas. Seems like they only do exercise, sparring and drills. Definitely not like a traditional karate class. There are katas in tang soo do but it wouldn't surprise me if reese just skipped teaching those. The guy who created Kyokushin also spent years studying goju-ryu. Kyokushin was created in the 1950s-1960s.
Heres a Theory:
Will Daniel find Robby in Okinawa?
Ooh that’s a bit spicy
This one comes up now and then, and I doubt it will happen. Robby would first have to have a passport, which his negligent (now presumably in recovery) would not have been able to provide for him-nor would Johnny. Unless he could forge a passport with a different name (since he will likely be a fugitive after crippling Miguel), it isn't likely he will be there.
But you never know. We can only wait to see what the writers came up with.

FACTS: The writers of Cobra Kai would NEVER be desperate enough to make it so John Kreese and/or Terry Silver were trained by Sato. We live in a small world, but not that small. This video is so dumb that I literally thought you were going to say that Terry Silver inherited Dynatox from his father - a man who, according to the timeline, was old enough to know Sato so that both the Silver family and the Sato family became wealthy as a result of dumping radioactive waste in the area of Okinawa and Japan. Radioactive waste being dumped in the areas of Okinawa and Japan in that time period of 40 years prior to 1986 agrees with when a radioactive monster named Godzilla attacked Japan, so obviously Godzilla must be linked to Sato and Dynatox Corp. ... Sorry, this is just too far fetched. ... There would be far too many coincidences. If the writers were that desperate, it would be a BIG turn off!
The way I interpreted the Karate Kid movies and Cobra Kai series, John Kreese and Terry Silver are associated with war in the geographic region of Vietnam, not Japan or Okinawa. The movies make it clear that John Kreese was definitely a karate master and repeated karate champion at the point he was in the Vietnam War. We also know Terry Silver was in the Vietnam War with John Kreese, and that John Kreese taught Terry Silver. Also, I got the impression that John Kreese was already a well-established karate master before he was even in the military. John Kreese simply displayed his skills as a champion of karate once he was in the military.
If John Kreese was associated with Sato, wouldn't we have seen something associated with Sato being his teacher in the Cobra Kai dojo. Also, both John Kreeese and Terry Silver are very racist against people from the geographic region of Japan and Okinawa. Remember how Kreese called Mr. Myagi a "slope." If John Kreese had been trained by Sato, John Kreese would indisputably NOT be displaying such racist behavior against Myagi.
There is no doubt Terry Silver was lying about his master being Kim Sung Yung of South Korea. Virtually everything Terry Silver said in that particular scene was a deliberate lie meant to deceive Mr. Myagi and Daniel. For example, Terry Silver also said John Kreese died in that scene, but that was a lie.
Another example is Terry Silver saying all those lies about how "War does something to a man," and then saying "442nd" to Mr. Myagi. All of that was a setup so Terry Silver could once again "lie" to that guy at the dance club in order to hire him to start a fight with Daniel.
Terry Silver "lies" more than any other character. There is NO DOUBT Terry Silver was LYING about "Kim Sung Yung of South Korea" being his teacher, because John Kreese and Terry Silver are HUGE racists and would NEVER allow themselves to be associated with "slopes" like that.
There is no doubt Terry Silver was "taught" by John Kreese. Terry Silver was "taught" by John Kreese during Vietnam when Silver was young and Kreese was older and more experienced - a "champion."
We were never told who the teacher of John Kreese was. But, there is no doubt John Kreese did not have a teacher who was a "slope" type of foreigner, because Kreese is far too racist. We were not even told if John Kreese had a "teacher" at all.
We know for sure that John Kreese was the founder of the Cobra Kai concept and the "Way of the Fist" used by members of the Cobra Kai. We know this concept is based on the principles of: "Strike First; Strike Hard; No Mercy." We know John Kreese taught the concept of "When a man confronts you, he is the enemy; the enemy deserves no mercy." We also know Terry Silver purchased the Cobra Kai dojo for John Kreese. And we know Terry Silver planned on expanding this to an entire chain of dojos.
We also know Terry Silver taught Daniel "The Quick Silver" concepts of "If a man can't stand; he can't fight. If a man can't see; he can't fight. And, if a man can't breath; he can't fight." Those may or may not have been actual lessons Terry Silver created on his own. Those three lessons also simply may have been another group of "lies" Terry Silver created simply for Daniel. This is a strong possibility simply because Daniel said, "You can't make me do something I don't want to do," and then Terry Silver responded by saying, "Ever since I met you I've been making you do things you don't want to do." This seems to imply Terry Silver may have created the "Quick Silver" concept simply as part of his plan to get revenge against Daniel.
The bottom line is, we indisputably know for a fact that Terry Silver was taught by John Kreese. We know that John Kreese was the founder of Cobra Kai and The Way of the Fist. We do not know who the actual "teacher" of John Kreese was or "if" John Kreese had a teacher at all. We know for an indisputable fact that John Kreese and Terry Silver are very racist - they would never be associated with foreign people from Japan as part of their dojo or learning from them. If the writers were to say this is the case and claim we simply live in a world that small, the writers may as well just say Dynatox is a corporation owned by the wealthy Silver family and the wealthy Sato family, and then claim Dynatox and Sato are responsible for dumping radioactive material in Japan - which gave birth to Godzilla in the timeline of 1954 (which matches up with Sato being in the area at the time).
But in part 3 of The Karate Kid Terry silver talks about studying under a Korean master to mr. Miyagi so the statement soto training can, t be
@@TheHartsook69 Read all of my comment. I explain in detail how Terry Silver tells Mr. Myagi nothing but "lies" in that particular scene. Yes, Terry Silver told Mr. Myagi, "My master is Kim Sung Yung of South Korea." But, Terry Silver also told Mr. Myagi that John Kreese was dead. Terry Silver also told lies about how he respected the 442nd. And Terry Silver told lies about how he and his "Korean Master" were sorry for the "dishonorable actions of John Kreese."
But in reality, ALL, I repeat, ALL, of that entire scene was a bunch of LIES from Terry Silver. John Kreese was NOT dead. Terry Silver did NOT believe the actions of John Kreese were "dishonorable." Terry Silver did NOT believe "the big war hero" Mr. Myagi and the 442nd were heroes at all. And the fact is, there IS NO "Korean master" named "Kim Sung Yung." That was just another "lie" from Terry Silver so that Mr. Myagi would not think he was racist the way John Kreese was.
@@TheHartsook69 and thats kinda racist because sato isn't korean, hes japanese
You should read your comment again and compare it to what is revealed in series 3 of Cobra Kai. According to the series, Kreese was taught while in Vietnam by his white, American Captain. He didnt do martial arts prior to being in the military. I guess he was a prodigy or something. Youre right though that Kreese taught Silver. I thought this theory was a good one though. Its much better than what is revealed in series 3 of Cobra Kai.
@@don8764 technically Sato is Okinawan.
This actually makes hella sense which is scary yet exciting
Good theory!!! What a twist that would be!!!
Imagine Chozen fights Terry silver in order to avenge the mistakes he made in Karate kid 2. So in order to defend his uncles honour he fights Terry silver in Season 3
You're way off
Why?
Na, the founder of Cobra Kai is definitely Korean it wasn't Sato
Yes that's definitely true and that's why Daniel should go to South Korea and look for Kim Sung Yung family and former students that trained with Kreese and Silver to get a better history on these two .
This theory is so bad ass I love it it would connect everything.
This is the best Cobra Kai theory I've heard. Everything you state in this video, makes sense and can play out exactly as you said. I'm curious to see more of Terry Silver and any information, that can help us learn more about Cobra Kai. There's so much potential for the show it's crazy. Love the show so far. Season 3 will enter w whole new level of crazy, epicness.
TERRANCE OUT
Nope. In KK 3, Silver clearly says our masters in KOREA heard about Kreese. Cobra Kai is basically Tang Doo Do.
yeah (as I mention in the video), and you believe everything Silver said, right?
You can't tell when silver is telling the truth or lying
Yeah and he also said Kreese was dead and we all know how that turned out
And yet, Cobra Kai is Tang Soo Do that is a Korean art. Couldn't have possibly learned it from Okinawa, or Sato, or Miyagi.
You think this is Mr. Miyagi's big secret?
No because I screenshotted and it looked like chozen who said and chozen didnt seem to have anything to do with kreese and silver idk it just doesnt flow
I love this theory. I hope it comes true. Great insights.
Wow nice insight, this is getting better than stars wars
