How do they know a weak hive

I'm sure they smell the honey and try to get in. A strong hive has plenty of bees to protect itself. A weak hive is overrun quickly especially in a derth.

@@honyokhoneybees8116 thanks for your reply . They can smell honey in all the hives . I believe you when you say they know the weak hive but i was wondering what determines this to them
