is it just me or is it ironic that the main character embodys the ethnic stereotype of the "angry black woman"?

And if yes the other layer to this would be: How and why is she portrayed that way and what is the effect on the character and the show?
And how could the alternative look like? „angry Black Woman“ is a racist stereotype, to me the question is how to display anger in a Black Woman character without putting her into that box? Because Black Women (characters and real people) can be angry and often are rightfully angry - because it‘s a human emotion and racism and sexism and misogynoir are extremely good reasons to be angry. So displaying this in a way that respects and supports a Black Woman‘s anger may not be the stereotype.

That's the point. The show actually addresses how Sam might be overcompensating because she's biracial.
Not really. That's kind of the point of her story. Plus, she's not entirely the main character, there's a main cast that plays into the theme of the show.

Not ironic. When someone is half black or a quarter black-any ratio the world tends to consider them black first and foremost. Any woman of color I’m sure can relate. Personally I do. Shows like this actually do the opposite of the intended purpose and divide being by gender and race and try to make it seem cool and edgy to be an annoying victim, but with a hardened “intelligent” sass. Yeah. It’s stupid. It’s racially divisive and a big part of the problem, not the solution. In fact, we don’t need a solution. It’s one of the most accepting times in American history, with a plummeting violent crime rate.
So, I’m taking about this “victim” who has to go to racially segregated meetings to whine about how they need to take control to be equal, with the irony of segregating to try and assimilate. I really love this show but not because I agree with their juxtaposition in politics and the whole left wing movement. But solely because I like to observe people and get an understanding on what makes them tick and why they believe the things they do are correct. You could look at this in a psychological point of view. Not everything needs to be about race, rather the mental makeup of specific people regardless of their color, sex, and nationality.
