I'm 53, Live in Colorado, have a VERY generous work schedule. You tell me when and where, I'm there (as long as it doesn't interfere with my work schedule).
I'm 67 and still able, a bit arthritic and afraid of when I can't but these cool vids will do better than nutin I'm hoping cause I love them most every night!
The fact you are watching RUclips & commenting is amazing my Dad is 75 & I cannot get him to stop watching the same old rubbish on normal TV? I say to him you have been watching the same program for 30 years!!! RUclips has whatever you want. He doesn't even have the Internet doh.
Terrific video... the challenge is made even more challenging by the fact that you're filming the whole thing! I know I often take for granted watching stuff like this the amount of work that goes into lugging your camera around, setting up shots, retrieving gear, etc., all while performing the tasks we're watching you perform -- kudos!
Cheers Jeff! Yes, it does take a bit longer to do stuff - sometimes I just wish I had 5 cameras, set them up at different angles and let them run!! I enjoy the filming though! Even the editing! Tb, Simon.
I do miss being in the outdoors and wild camping so much. This C19 lockdown is restricting us all socially and mentally. Content such as this keeps us all motivated and interested ! One of my favourite episodes was doing a winter survival / bushcraft course a few years ago, that my kids bought for me for my 50th. It was at a private estate near Oxfordshire somewhere. The food was really planned out well also ... we had fin, (trout) feather (pigeon) and fur (rabbit) over the 3 days / 4 nights, with loads of group instruction under the parachute (communal) canopy. We had our "food" harvested beforehand and stored in a cooler box by the gamekeeper. These offerings were issued to us each day with guidance on how to inspect, prep and cook each item. Also raw meat safety and hygiene considerations were introduced and followed. Even experienced folk would enjoy doing some of these programmes. Though mine have not been as challenging or strict as yours. Thanks again. Si
Warm, dry, well fed on a cold, rainy weekend in the woods, without a tarp or tent, it doesn’t get better. New phrases for me, “head torch” and “chucking it down”... I gathered the meaning, but just think, “head torch”, you have to admit it sounds a bit funny to someone who’s never heard it. And “chucking it down”, referring to how hard it’s raining makes more sense. Well done Simon. Thanks for sharing. Texas
sorry to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Enrique Dario thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Well... I know it’s a „old“ video but I have to say... I immensely enjoyed this... Great ideas all along 👍 Oh, by the way... when you’re hungry, I mean really hungry... everything tastes much better 😉
Hi Simmon, if you spread the wings of a pheasant and stand on then pull hard and the skin and feathers come off. Easy Peasy! An old trick I learnt any years ago from a gilly. love the videos.
Another amazing video Simon well done you. Two years ago for my 50th, my wife bought me a ticket to Ray Mears winter expedition to Finland. This was hands down the best trip I’ve ever been on! The coldest temperature we experienced was -37° C and the coldest sleeping out temperature was -28° C. My first campout was in the snow grave I had to dig and that temperature was only -17. I had a decent sleeping bag, a decent sleeping mat on top of two reindeer skins. I did have a tarp over the top in case we had more snow during the evening. We also built a Quinsey to sleep in which was tiring but great fun. The warmest night was in a hot tent where the three of us took shifts to keep the fire going. A once in a lifetime experience 👍👍👍👍
awesome! A wonderful challenge! Rainbow trout and rice cooking are dishes the Japanese prefers, it looks delicious. Nice, shelter! Thank you for sharing! This is a message from Japan.
Thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed it - the trout and rice was really very good - a shame I didn’t have any soy or a nice miso to go with it!! 😁 cheers, Simon.
A fabulous effort Simon and a comprehensive insight for us all. I've enjoyed Sam's excellent photo reports previously but your filming brings it to another level. Congratulations and we eagerly await your next challenge. Stuart
I realize water was in short supply, but on rewatch years later I'm still wanting to shout at the screen to make a stock with the trout ends and corn cobs 😊 Hope (for your sake) that you'll be able to fit in another challenge or big trip before too long. Having a blast rewatching older vids sir, thanks for everything
Very informative, thank you. I have been using a self styled campervan for a while, but have been acquiring camping gear, to take out with me on my hill walks for over nighters, etc. I`ll be 70 this year, but still love the out doors.
That looked great, a nice shelter and excellent food. You managed to make some pretty grotty weather seem like a nice time in the woods. Well done! All the best, Al

No Hospital Mngt Has Ever Responded In UK.. You Will Find Below Some Holistic Thinking Which Is Every Bit As Important As a Man Who Enjoys Roughing It For A few Days. As usual for most of the films being presented on the net, at first everything seems true and factual but, after seeing about five episodes we start thinking and, gaps start apopearing in the sequences. This person "a bloke in a wood" seems congruent,is a good communicator and is compent at what he appears to do. We have, ourselves done slightly similar things. Here are our comments about what we see as the unexplained.- You will not be able to eat quantities of Woodruffe as part of a diet because its a mild poisen and has medicinal qualities. Look up cleavers too. The meat he is consuming wont survive any warm weather for that about three days without refrig. The pheasant he is shown plucking needs a lot more preparation than that shown. When we did some of that activity I became extremely ill and had to summon help, how would this man get that on "an island" somewhere in Norfolk. There was no indication of a mobile phone. We reckon this film is not some bloke roughin it and taking a few pictures. The effort has been intensly edited and gives the impression of professional media skills not just a carpenter, joiner out for a few days. For instance the impression was given of him being all alone wirth a dog yet someone was walking alongside him filming him whilst walking about also he was filmed from the shore paddling a canoe and so on. We note his careful covering of any signs of a camp fire and other measues taken to "preserve the environmrent". however we have just discovered deception taking place within the establ re planning anf environment issues. We refer to build construction taking place in rural areas which flaunt the regulations. We have been sent bogus paperwork by Local Govt which aims to circumvent the regulations. Some of that paperwork has had names inked out.The firm who is supposed to inspect the build work is paid by the developer and refuses to confirm the legality of the build work. The Local Govt Dept wont communicate directly but gets a Patsy to send the bogus papers.. They have now cut off comms completely. The Lab Party HM MP in the area Bristol where the Govt Build Inspectorate Office is was told to act and sent back a pre printed mail which proves he never read what we have sent him. He is of course yet another "lawyer".We then asked the Govt Inspectorate at Bristol to act. That Dept under the wing of Dept Of Communities which is supervised by the ex Chrities Art auctions "lawyer" Minister Genrick HM MP Newark. We looked around Genricks Constituency areea Notts and have found deception going on at Notts Uni. Police Commission. Local Govt. HM Courts.Media and other HM MPs. As usual the whole thing proipped up by the Sport.Art.Drama.Hobby crazy public and media.None of these Depts or individuals will respond. Genricks office includes the character Mr Pickles who never ever replies to any information sent incl that of us being told this by Local Govt- " If Theres Anything Wrong with Local Govt The Public Must Go Get Themselves A Lawyer". and "We dont Have ideas Put Into Our Heads By The Public". Instead of replying re the evidence sent to him Pickles photo appeared in national press accompanying that was huge article about the price of his biscuits and his body weight. The evidence now includes anomalies going on within 24 Local Govt Orgs.
PART TWO.The man whose survival film we are commenting on announces he lives in Norfollk, he does not seem to have any accent. We already are well aware of deception going on within the East Anglia Press and Media and the Police HQ Wymondham and at the County Council which is run by ex Haringey Council executive. It was that area of London (Haringey) we investigated re the cover up in the Mental Health (MH) system which now is indicted re about 30.000 avoid deaths over period 35 yrs. The Local govt boss in this area also hails from Haringey and wont responde re any issue whatsoever incl electoral and tax and wellfare. Eight Social Services staff wont respond despite my lying here fot 7 yrs screaming in agony every nite. I got no competent help. All of the wrong doing we have discovered is fully supported by the Local Press system. We were told this by that system- "Nothing That you Have Discovered Can Ever By Put Into Print". The Police have told us that none of the evidence must be read by public. They have used violence to attempt to stop this disclosure they are encouraged by HM Religion which is behind the MH scandle.. The HM Court system offered to kill us. Norfolk also connected with Mr Lamb liberal Party at n- Walsham. No reply from him or anyone in that area. The Lib Party is also implicated re the MH scandle and behind all that is the BBC and Clegg. The Party destroys legal documents. The BBC said- "Hide The Evidence Abroad".Lets get back to the survival hobbist Simon. Apparently loads people write to him fom all over the place and even send money too. How can that be, we have sent wellk over 1000 mails re spending.avoid deaths. violent attacks on ourselves.health electoral.environment. victims at their last gasp and so on and theres no replies. F-book and Twitter destroy mails and accoiunts and Yahoo was caught blocking mail. We now know that 26 HM MPs are using evasion and deception. The one in this area is an ex Primary School Teacher who was employed by the Local Govt who are doing the cover ups re Planning and Environmement. She states this- "This Area is a Wonderful Place To Live".Theres been 1000s suicides here. Railtrack is implicated and wont respond. We wrote to the local HM MP 6 months ago and she wrote this in reply- "I Have Given Your Text to Me Team". Her photo apears on a Parish Council site. No one in that area will respond about anything. No reply was ever recd from 50 Parish Councils.. That HM MPS area is involved with the HM religion that the Police said "Want You Silenced". It is funded by private enterise round here. And so on. Kent? Largest Law Uni in Europe. They wont wont communicate re the death threats have recd from Cent London Courts or the anomalies within the HM bar Council and CPS etc. 30pp Fax sent to the Court System in this area has not benn responded to by dialogue. All a HM MP is obliged to do for you is send a "reply". That can be three words typed by an employee whose full identity is not revealed. Or worse than that, the reply will comprise a pre printed handout telling you how wonderful the HM MP is but no reference to what you have sent because the lawyers have told the HM MP not to write But meanwhile what you sent will be used for self gain by them. Mecanwhile we get Police attacks for saving lives and ten people two miles away get funded by Lottery Board. for "Watching Movies" By the way, what does Simon and the Dog use as a toilet. Most dogs we know go around marking their territory but not this one. We say this- The total obsession with Hobbies and Charities and the formation of 1000s mal funded affinity groups wont reform the decline in the UK and Europe. It was the same situation in 1933 Germany. The EEC Brussels say this- "Nothing Can Be done To Stop Corruptn As The EEC Is Only Interested In Money Not People" The BBC said-"Hide The Evidence Abroad". We have another question for Simon and that is who are the huge group of about 50 people depicted during your film. Our other question is this- We here because of suppression and attacks live in poverty and work 7 days a week 52 weeks a year. Despite that we find time to expose what we know and have the courage to demand justice.
Great video, Simon. That pheasant stew looked tasty, very jealous. And the shelter looked very cozy and comfortable. Thanks for sharing. Take care, buddy.
Great video! I hope I do get the chance to do this. I felt badly for Simon saying good bye to everything. I would have wanted to stay for about a week, as long as food was being delivered that is. Thanks for taking us along, Simon. I've never seen or heard of anything like this challenge.
Two note worthy points, “It tastes planty” & “My GoPro bra”! Brilliant story really well told and made, as ever. I really enjoyed that, thank you Simon.
Again big brother you have always shown a true way of doing things. I want to thank you but. The struggle to get rid of click bait fakes is still at large. Your videos are still what use to share with my Facebook family and a few others. Just wish you guys could figure out a way to block those guys. So the real people like yourself can shine. I have learned a lot from you since looking for camping gear for my daughter. High thumbs and THANKS AGAIN
Good video, nice to see someone using a millbank bag. Your situation is a perfect example of why it is a important part of any outdoors persons kit. You can even use it for other tasks like collecting tender, using it for a pillow stuffing it with leaves or moss or cloth of any kind. ray, Oklahoma
Well done Simon! You did yourself proud & it was a pleasure seeing how well you coped with the task. Only one thought, might be easier just skinning the game, rather than plucking, which is tedious & time-consuming. This, of course, from someone who's never done anything as challenging as this!! Looking forward to your next adventure. TashyPete.
Cheers Pete! Glad you enjoyed!! In hindsight, I wish I had just skinned it - it was a pain to pluck and I ended up tearing the skin anyway!! I wanted the fat intact which is why I did, but really, I could have just scraped the fat from the skin!! You live and you learn!! Atb mate, Simon.
Brilliant as always Simon, enjoyed this documentary style video. Definitely a promotion for the course! Glad you had a great experience. Look forward to the next one! Atb
Welldone. That was an enjoyable video. Shelter looked good and quite large. A lot of work. Glad it kept the rain off you. What a lovely experience it is to camp in woods in the rain. Sandy
Love your videos. You wait too long to hydrate or get something to eat and that is not good. Ive seen this in a few of your videos and I’ve noticed you get a little wonky when you wait too long. Take care !!! Really love your videos
Impressed with your video. Your shelter is spot on: blocks the wind, traps the heat and offers protection from the rain. If you’re working without a sleeping pad, an elevated bed area is a must. The ground will sap your body heat away. Eating pheasant in a bush craft challenge? That’s pretty fancy! Loved the video , sir. Keep it up. One can learn a lot from your presentation.
Thank you Chris! The shelter very much evolved as the weekend went on, but certainly performed well - the rain was the proof of the pudding - I was quite comfortable! I was really pleased with the raised bed too, as you said, I’d have been cold sleeping on the ground that’s for sure - next time, I’d get some more soft material on top, it wasn’t bad, but could have been better! I tell you, that pheasant was amazing - a real treat!! The fat was a boost and I’m sure helped keep the cold at bay through the night!! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comments! Cheers, Simon.
Impressive bit of work! I congratulate you for doing such an nice job. Enjoyed your video; thank you. Some years ago I had to do a 1night when we were hunting and over extended ourselves and ran out of daylight. One of our group was seventy something and he got cold and his legs gave out so I said "I guess we're home for the night" put up a shelter and a good long log fire and luckily we had some sardines and lots of tea, a little sugar and a few other things and did a good night in spite of pouring rain, single digit Celsius temperatures and a gale blowing. We were just clearing camp in the morning when search and rescue arrived, but their comment was "you guys did everything right! You're the kind of "victim" we like to find and it was a good exercise. Today with GPS and cell phones it wouldn't have happened, but it was one of the best outdoor experiences I've had. We're in Maritimes/Canada.
Thanks Frank! That was some experience - you did well - survived in style despite the conditions!! That’s the real test isn’t it, when you are forced into a very real situation where your wellbeing and even your life is at stake, pulling experience, knowledge and your wit together to get through - and in relative comfort!! Even with modern electronic devices, you still need those skills - it’s sadly all to often that folk go off into the mountains etc without even a map or basic emergency kit, relying on GPS and their phone - only to find that the cold has shot the GPS batteries and they have no phone signal!! Thanks for the story Frank, I shall remember it! Atb, Simon.
The water source was meant to be fuller than it was - it was an artificial pond, but leaked. To be honest, it’s real to the sort of circumstance you might find yourself in, the objective was to make the most of what we had and source what we needed from what we could find around us. The water situation was unfortunate, but we managed. 👍💦
Looks like a nice course. Aside from building a palace I'll give you an A-. Smaller shelter uses less material, goes up quicker and is easier to heat, and conceal if that is an issue. Aside from that you did well. :) My last "survival course" was in the jungle in the Philippines, on my way to Vietnam. Excellent native instructors, they couldn't run to a store and slap down a charge card. So they lived and worked in the jungle and made just about everything they used. Knives and machetes were made from salvaged car leaf springs. Goggles were a combination of bamboo, strips of inner tube and salvaged glass. Very interesting course, and fortunately LOTS of bamboo. Lumbers answer to duct tape, you can do just about anything with a stand of bamboo. Cheers!
Cheers Scott! Yes, it was good fun! Hopefully, they’ll let me know if it’s still standing when the instructors are back up there in October. Atb, Simon.
Hi Simon brilliant video, although this is something that I wouldn't do personally, I still respect people like yourself who actually give it a go fair play mate👍👍👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it - it’s the first course/challenge I’ve been on and I really enjoyed it - it was a good test and I learnt a lot too (Like smuggle in a rake next time!! Lol!) Atb, Simon.
Noticed you modified the bail on your zebra pot , mine are original, I have 2 sizes of self reliance pots , with a round wire bail . I'm disabled now , if I can't go on my 4x4 4wheeler or 4door 4x4 pickup. I dont go anymore. Back when I was younger, I'd hunt in all weather, learned to build a evergreen wind , rain break from cedar and pines here , if I wasnt near a hunting cabin or line shack, always carried a good axe or large hatchet, and yes I always just burnt the wood in half , if too long , I never tore down a built shelter , because I might need it again or someone else might . Here in the states I carried most times a ruger semiautomatic pistol in 22 long rifle. Or a 22 magnum carbine . Always carried the big kitchen matches in waterproof tins . Carried carbide lamps for hunting, wasnt a problem getting a fire started even in rain , it's a shame I can't teach my son the old ways .
I'd been wondering how your challenge went, and was thrilled when I saw you had posted a video! Looks like you had a great time! Your shelter looked quite cozy, and the meals you prepared looked delicious. I enjoy your videos so much. Thanks for making them! :)
Hello Simon! I was able to watch this video! Wow! What a great time you (me too) had! And kudos on your success. I thoroughly enjoyed your experience! I was amused a bit when at the beginning we caught a pic of you participants walking to your designated area. I could not help but chuckle when I saw of them carrying huge back packs (something I'd probably do - LOL) and those compared to the sparse but well thought out back pack you carried! Thanks again! Great video!
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it! It was a great experience for me, a real test of what I’d learnt put into practice in a controlled situation. The woodland was stunning too! I like the clip of the six of us walking in too - we all carried much the same kit, or variations of it, the packs make it look like more, but the kit we could could take was limited to just a few basic Items. The rest we had to find or make. Great fun!! I’m looking forward to doing the next challenge now! Atb, Simon.
Well done Simon, you'll never forget that experience. Wow, food, you were lucky. On Cumbrian Survival, they starved us for the first three days of a weeks course. Would love to go camping with you to share some stories. Terry.
Cheers Terry! We were really lucky - the food part of the equation was removed really, so we only had to focus on the other elements of wilderness survival, a real bonus!! The emphasis was bushcraft rather than survivalism. Cheers! Simon.
Simon, a bloke in the woods This video really makes me long for some Dirt Time. Can't wait for this ice to move off the yard. Thanks again for posting this adventure.
Thank you - neither have I!! I had to make something up as I have a memory like a fish!! The log needs to be heavier than the one I used and another log on the ground would create a better ‘anvil’ effect, but it worked okay! Thanks buddy! Atb, Simon.
water all over the fire, having to start all again, yup been there, more than once, time for some Zen or Stotic thinking and get on, well done great video Mister Simon
That was brilliant. My son, his mate and me are out in the Forest of Dean tomorrow. Going to try a few of your skills. See if I can challenge the boys to make a trap. Cheers RJ

Full view Simon because it was fabulous mate. Top marks on all fronts I'd say. In fact with a shelter like that you'd wanna stop for a week. I suspect the shelter is going to fair well as the year unfolds. Good going. Mark

Even experienced folk would enjoy doing some of these programmes. Though mine have not been as challenging or strict as yours.
Thanks again.

Really nice, I can't get over the nice meat and other food they are giving you that you don't have to hunt yourself!
I have to say, anything British is just adorable. You guys do everything so cute and nifty. Much love, from Nicky, Brooklyn, NY 😊
Craig Ferguson of the bush. Very much a compliment.
Not sure who Craig Ferguson is, but thank you? 😁
This was pure joy to watch, Simon! Thank you for sharing this epic adventure with us! Can't remember enjoying a video as much as this one :-)
Thank you!! Really glad you enjoyed it! Your comments are a real encouragement!! Atb, Simon.
At the end the group shot, true happy faces!⛺️🏕
I'm doing this Friday!!!! It's all because of you Simon!!!!!!!!!
😬😬😬😬
Warm, dry, well fed on a cold, rainy weekend in the woods, without a tarp or tent, it doesn’t get better. New phrases for me, “head torch” and “chucking it down”... I gathered the meaning, but just think, “head torch”, you have to admit it sounds a bit funny to someone who’s never heard it. And “chucking it down”, referring to how hard it’s raining makes more sense. Well done Simon. Thanks for sharing. Texas
sorry to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Collin Immanuel instablaster =)
@Enrique Dario thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Enrique Dario It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out :D
@Collin Immanuel no problem =)
I really enjoy these kind of "original bushcraft " camps. It's realistic and show how much effort has to go into it.
Pheasant plucker! 😃
This makes me appreciate my tent and tarp so much.
Well...
I know it’s a „old“ video but I have to say... I immensely enjoyed this...
Great ideas all along 👍
Oh, by the way... when you’re hungry, I mean really hungry... everything tastes much better 😉
Simon, being your sister Sally, I am so proud of you…what a great experience and you would be my wing man anytime
Thanks Sal!! When the Zombies come, you know where to find me!! Xx
It is cool, that you are willing to put yourself in nature's hand like this. Sad thing is most would think it beneath them.
???
You surprise me!!!
Why on earth would anyone see it as beneath them???
Brilliant set up that you hand built. Appreciated your time, effort and skills applied to your different tasks that were presented. Well done!!
Hi Simmon, if you spread the wings of a pheasant and stand on then pull hard and the skin and feathers come off. Easy Peasy! An old trick I learnt any years ago from a gilly. love the videos.
Once again a very entertaining video Simon, many thanks regards Luke
Hi
I really enjoyed coming along with you! Thank you! A lil sad to say bye!
You proved to be well-skilled for this one. Participants shared useful information and you changed your shelter accordingly.
A fabulous effort Simon and a comprehensive insight for us all. I've enjoyed Sam's excellent photo reports previously but your filming brings it to another level. Congratulations and we eagerly await your next challenge. Stuart
Cheers Stuart! I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend - it was an amazing experience and a real test for me!! Hunter Gatherer next perhaps!! Atb, Simon.
We heard what you said at 15:21! Lol! Great video!
That was thoroughly enjoyable! Thank you so much for sharing.
Simon your camera SHOTS were perfect very impressed...love the cutting board.....perfect spatula too.........going to watch it again lol cheers....
Haha! Not quite my usual joinery standard, but served a purpose!! Glad you enjoyed it!!! 😁
Great outdoors stuff for sure, thanks for letting us go with You
Very impressive. Well done Simon!
Thanks Dave! Atb, Simon.
That looked great, a nice shelter and excellent food. You managed to make some pretty grotty weather seem like a nice time in the woods. Well done!
All the best,
Al
Cheers Al! The weather added to the experience really - a test for my shelter! It was a great weekend. Atb, Simon.
Cracking video Simon, looks like you really enjoyed it , you did well, the food looked great. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Chris! Thanks for joining me!! It was amazing! As was the grub! Atb, Simon.
love the Survival Tests, you put a lot of detail into your Shelter
and your dinner was something I would do as well Put It All In.
well done Simon

Simon brother I guess you could say you "dodged that bullet " then 🤣🤣🤣 great videos rock on 🤘 brother
Great video, Simon. That pheasant stew looked tasty, very jealous. And the shelter looked very cozy and comfortable. Thanks for sharing. Take care, buddy.
Cheers Andy! I’ve decided I need to start shooting, just so I can have a regular supply of pheasant! Thanks mate! Atb, Simon.
Trout, rice and sweet corn? I'm sold!
Mmmmm 😋😁
Great video! I hope I do get the chance to do this. I felt badly for Simon saying good bye to everything. I would have wanted to stay for about a week, as long as food was being delivered that is.
Thanks for taking us along, Simon. I've never seen or heard of anything like this challenge.
Two note worthy points, “It tastes planty” & “My GoPro bra”! Brilliant story really well told and made, as ever. I really enjoyed that, thank you Simon.
Hahaha - yep, planty was the best adjective I could muster up at the time!! Glad you enjoyed it Andy, Atb.
Well done. That trout looked divine.
Thank you! I’ve never had trout as good as that was! I need to take up fishing! Cheers, Simon.
Brilliant, what a great experience. Thanks for taking us along. 👍👍👍👍
Cheers Martin - thanks for joining me!! It was a superb weekend! Atb, Simon.
Wild, I watched this video with a few pauses but I loved it. Will definitely look for a survival school in the USA.
What a chorus to wake up too, owls and pheasants!
I would love to do a bushcraft course but as a vegan, the food could be a issue ✌️
Nice work Simon, you actually made that look easy when we know it isn't. Inspiring.
More than enjoyed that Simon. Awesome work👌👍👍
Outstanding video 👍!
Thanks Maria!
great camp you did well to video so much enjoyed watching well done sir
Cheers Alan, I was surprised how much footage I managed to get when I got home to edit!! Glad you enjoyed it!! Atb, Simon.
What a wonderful experience you made of your challenge Simon well made and presented all over, congrats to you. ATB....
Thanks Mark! Glad you enjoyed it - it was a superb weekend! Atb, Simon.
To aid in the gathering of leaf litter I have made a rake/broom out of a handful of green twigs tied to a longer handle. Very handy tool!
Now that is a great idea! Takes ages otherwise doesn’t it!! 👍
Welldone Simon, great show the camp looked amazing and your skills shone through the course really enjoyed watching. ALB Mark
Cheers Mark! Glad you enjoyed it - top weekend!! Atb, Simon.
Brilliant as always Simon, enjoyed this documentary style video. Definitely a promotion for the course! Glad you had a great experience. Look forward to the next one! Atb
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it - it was an amazing experience - I learned a lot! Cheers, Simon.
impressive that meal with pheasant ! Nice to see how table was constructed . Thank you !
Ya I'd say that's a bushcraft survival meal very nice I learned alot Thank you Sir
Welldone. That was an enjoyable video. Shelter looked good and quite large. A lot of work. Glad it kept the rain off you. What a lovely experience it is to camp in woods in the rain.
Sandy
Thanks Sandy, it was a great weekend and the rain definitely added to it, not only as a test for my shelter but also for the atmosphere! Atb, Simon.
Well done.
Great video really like watching stuff like this and it inspires me to get out in the woods more too.
Thank you - really glad you enjoyed it! Atb, Simon. 🏕
Thank jesus you know what to do an how 🙏
Love your videos. You wait too long to hydrate or get something to eat and that is not good. Ive seen this in a few of your videos and I’ve noticed you get a little wonky when you wait too long. Take care !!! Really love your videos
Thanks for sharing, great video. 👍
Such a great video
Atb, Simon.
What a great and informative upload. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it! It was a superb weekend. Atb, Simon.
Great video'
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing.......
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Awesome buddy.. great vid
You do a great job. My only criticism is of the organisers who should definitely give you more water. You're dehydrated and it's a basic need!
The water source was meant to be fuller than it was - it was an artificial pond, but leaked. To be honest, it’s real to the sort of circumstance you might find yourself in, the objective was to make the most of what we had and source what we needed from what we could find around us. The water situation was unfortunate, but we managed. 👍💦
Awesome your a great Bushcraft man!!
Hello Simon, thank you for sharing. Despite the inclement weather, you did an awesome job of filming. I look forward to see you on the next one. 🤗
Fantastic shelter...amazing how dry it stayed. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
Loving that table! :-)
Hahaha - rustic that’s for sure!! But served a purpose. Atb, Simon.
Well done Simon, looked like a great time was had. That food looked spot on. Be good to see how your shelter has faired in several months time.....
Well simon another out standing video and looks like you done well in that challenge keep bushcrafting all the best 👍👍
Thanks Jim - it was an amazing weekend - I learned a lot - about myself as much as anything else! Cheers, Simon.
Omg, what an amazing video Simon, I loved every second of it, thanks for sharing, ATB Colin.
Cheers mate, it was an amazing weekend - I leaned quite a lot about myself haha! Atb, Simon
Silver birch scraping flamed right up. Gift from God, birch.
Cheers Ray - indeed it is - by far my favourite tinder! Couldn’t believe my luck when I spotted a downed birch tree! Atb, Simon.
@@simonablokeinthewoods , watching again. LOL.
Thanks! It was a great weekend, I learned a lot! Really glad you enjoyed it!! Cheers, Simon.
Linnee Ka
Atb, Simon.
delicious looking dinner. Made me hungry !
Cheers! Simon.
Well done son, well done.
Awesome, well done.
Cheers Travis. Atb, Simon.
Simon, a bloke in the woods This video really makes me long for some Dirt Time. Can't wait for this ice to move off the yard. Thanks again for posting this adventure.
Nicely presented, enjoyed the video
Fantastic outing. I wanted it to go on for 96 hours lol.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It was a great challenge! 👍
I realy like your trap disign, i've never seen it before. Well done 👍
Thank you - neither have I!! I had to make something up as I have a memory like a fish!! The log needs to be heavier than the one I used and another log on the ground would create a better ‘anvil’ effect, but it worked okay! Thanks buddy! Atb, Simon.
Incredibly lush area were you are at"
Cool.
Cheers, it’s in the county of Wiltshire near Salisbury. Thanks for watching! Atb, Simon.
Oh to be back! Houses are overrated! Nice vid Simon and nicely captured! See you on the Hunter Gatherer 😜
Yes - it was really emotional, leaving my shelter all set up like that and walking away! I’m definitely up for Hunter Gatherer!! Cheers, Simon.
Excellent skill use. This spurns me to try a similar test.
Cheers Matthew! Well recommended WSS if you’re in this country! Atb, Simon
😂 This is bush craft, 5 minute rule!
Thanks for the fun vid and Lulz!
Haha - 50 minutes on occasion! 😂
Big fan Trinidad
Good job on the shelters
Thanks Kyle! 👍
water all over the fire, having to start all again, yup been there, more than once, time for some Zen or Stotic thinking and get on, well done great video Mister Simon
Thanks David!
Wow, great video Si, it looked like you had a great time mate. What a cracking experience, loved it. Atb, Paul.
Cheers Paul! Yes, I had a great time - a real test for me! Can’t wait for the next challenge - possibly next year!! Atb, Simon.
That was brilliant. My son, his mate and me are out in the Forest of Dean tomorrow. Going to try a few of your skills. See if I can challenge the boys to make a trap. Cheers RJ
OOOHHH how i love these kind of video's :D
Thank You!
Greetings,, Kitty.
Thank you Kitty! It was great fun! Atb, Simon
