Both this roadster and my GT were RB cars. I swapped in the CB cross member in both cars, the GT has a CB steering rack for the quicker rack ratio as its more track orientated, I honestly cant remember what I did to that cars rack now its so long ago but I seem to think it has parta of both steering columns and still wasnr a straight swap. I have had 11 MGBs now all with the CB swap and I swear I have done it different every time!
The roadster I did within the last year and its the RB rack with repositioned subframe mounts, I bought the rack forward 15mm or so due to the column length, but this reduces the steering lock and messes with the geometry so is something I will do a video on in a few weeks time when I hopefully remedy it.
Sorry to be of less help, Im aware its a minefield of info on this online but from my experience there is no bolt up upgrade without some form of welding as even if you get the column and rack from an early car you need to reposition the engine mounts

@@mike_wallheadChrist that’s a long job but needed for the fitment so I’ll have to persevere 😂 I’ve read the steering rack issues might be mitigated with shims under the rack mounts to make it higher but idk if that would help your issues, cheers for the advice though mate, you’re bloody right about it being a minefield of info out there 😂
