Wireless Phone Charging in IKEA Bedside Table

In this video I "hack" an Ikea bedside table by adding wireless phone charging.

NOTE: Be careful when adding wireless chargers to furniture. They get hot sometimes. To be fair if this got hot enough to melt the glue it would drop off the top and stop working so built in safety feature!

Hey there! I noticed my 10w charger can get extremely hot (~60c after an hour of charging), what kind of temps do you see? Have you had any thermal problems?

Stephen Knight the glue did get so hot it softened/melted and the charger dropped out so I screwed a metal bracket in to hold in place. To be fair the glue melts in the gun at 105-120c and softens at 65c paint and wood will combust at about 300c I can’t see the charger getting that hot. Plus no fires yet. 🤞🏻😂
