Welcome back to Tiny Blue Games! My name is Csaw or Chris, and today we are talking about GW3. Yes, that's right, I'm finally making a quick discussion video about all of the rumors surrounding the idea that there is possibly a GW3 coming our way. In this video, we discuss the pros and cons of releasing a sequel to an MMORPG vs. just continuing to expand the game through expansions and what the likelihood of Guild Wars 2 receiving a sequel actually is.

Great conversation I love this content. Two things come to mind for me; does the sequel add a new chapter to the story or just small blossoms off old ideas and characters? Are there any new game features? Do they add to the spirit of the game story or water it down? Also, with emphasis, was this change used as an opportunity to monetize the game further or make it more pay to win? Were micro transactions or micro subscriptions added? Do they affect f2p viability at all? Zero tolerance should be the norm here. I’m fairly new to gw2 I’m a filthy casual as well proudly and I hope this beautiful visual peaceful vibe inducing game keeps thriving.
I want 2-3 more weapons, at least 1 more elite spec, airship, and some expansion that includes Dominion of Winds (tengu) before Guild Wars 2 is done..
oh, I would not want to be in the shoes of the decision makers. 10 years is a good point to start considering because of engine and graphics updates but outside that it is a nightmare gamble: Do you build up the story/plotline and run the risk of alienating new players or go for new and risk alienating current players. Do you keep the same design choices and limit your dev creativity or run the risk of flopping with some new designs. Do you eve have the budget to split your team and keep the current version engaging enough as not to lose players?
(I will have to try this game at some point now that I have a better popoto)
Would definitely prefer at least 5-10 more years of gw2. Honestly would prefer they just make a completely different kind of game after gw2, not another MMO...
I think we have time. Years. Currently getting back in the game so no worries about gw3.
yeah its time, because content has been stale and repititive for years now
hopefully in gw3 they dont make fixed weapon skills and let us theorycraft a bit more like we did in gw1
GW3 is eventually coming, whether people want to believe it or not. The fact there's a GW2, should be more than enough evidence, then you mix in the fact that more elite specs aren't being introduced is what seals the deal. This company has the luxury of being able to do this and GW2 is over a decade old.
What they're going to do next, couldn't tell you, maybe actually make an MMO with a dungeon finder that involves the trinity to compete with other Triple A games would be a good start. The group finder they have is a dated system, and I understand why they did it, tank and heal specs weren't their concern. But if there were a company out there that could overtake the king, the king being WoW, this is the company that could do it. Blizzard's reign has to end some year. lol
You pretty much hit on the points I was typing up as I was listening to you, other than the elite specs. There's plenty of room for improvement and part 3 would be just that.
