Hilarious and informative at the same time Eric. With so many overly technical videos out there about watches that are just plain boring, yours are a breath of fresh air. This makes me feel like manning up and pulling the trigger on a Richard Mille! Lol
My family has been in the Horology business for 2 generations, I'm on the third. You would be surprised what is the actual production cost of a watch like this. For a RM11 its about $5000 USD, thus they get a HUGE margin profit.
+Joshua Taylor same thing with "high end" audio components. Cheap electronics stuffed inside fancy looking metal box without any noticeable difference in audio quality compared to 10-100X cheaper baseline - midrange audio components.
what you are forgetting about is all the money they spent on research and development to make the watch. they need to charge a higher price to make back that money.

Great Review. I just recently purchased a new RM-011 Dual Time in Rose Gold. I have to say the most comfortable watch I have ever worn. Wow. This is a great Machine...
Awesome, yet another great video Eric. You are right, the RM011 is a BULLY! I love the background music you used in this video and the closeups of the watch. Two thumbs up to you!
Eric I watched this video when you first put it out and came back to it multiple times. How have your views on the RM11 changed/stayed the same in 2 years?
Very good review. Last week I went to a RM boutique wearing my 26401RO and the sales acted like I would not be their target customer. Somehow it jet up my interest in RM and took a couple magazines from the boutique including the latest one introducing the RM11-03. I like its titanium version a lot. Will you be doing a review on RM11-03?
Actually, couple months back I said, that the hype around RM is way too much and that I think their watches don't deserve it...well, I have seen another one in person and have to say...They start to grow on me. Nice vid ;-)
steffan gaisie, thank you for your comment. Making these videos is a very time consuming process, especially since we're making them while trying to run a full service luxury watch store simultaneously. For that reason, we cannot spit out these videos that quickly. We get a lot of requests to review watches as well, which, unfortunately, we cannot accommodate. I will love to do a review of the RM030 down the road, but we have other videos that we need to attend to first (including the interview with the Rolex Enforcer), so I cannot do that review now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Also the RM11 is quite hefty, I've handled the white gold version and could really feel the weight. It's at the other end of the RM spectrum in terms of weight.
With a few extra set of bicep curls at the gym every week you would not even notice the extra weight. Lol just kidding. Thank you for your comment. We really appreciate it.
CRM Jewelers He makes some interesting watches though not beautiful. Now Franck Muller, he's not popular anymore he made some nice pieces, the Conquistador was nice with those arabic twirling numbers. I think those pieces now can be picked up cheaply
Damn and when I dropped $13,000 on my Rolex Submariner i thought that was quite a bit. $89,000 used that's a lot but if I had a tad more money I would definetely get one. I sure will in the future
Pablo Munguia $89,000 for a watch that has no diamonds & minimal gold when you can buy a brand new Stingray instead... a sucker is born everyday... you can buy a whole gold & diamond jewelry collection with a lot of nice pieces for that price
To everyone saying it’ ugly and too expensive for the watch it is; you Change of mind while you are at some fancy event or place and you are wearing you fresh AP, and suddenly someone shows up with an RM like this one or similar. Making look your AP cheap and out of place. That’s when you wanna step up your watch game into an RM. That’s what normally happens when you see someone wearing an RM. Happens the same with cars. Is the mercedes g wagon a beautiful car? No, it isnt it’s an status symbol, which everyone is after, nowadays.
Very Cool video. The watch game has a new sherif and it goes by the name of Richard Mille. Great job Eric! #watchgame #richardmille #luxury #crmjewelers #felipemassa #formula1
So why is this so expensive... No way the internal gears a such costs that over 5k right? Then the body mabye another 5k and thats still hard to believe i mean 5k for some gears??
Thanks for the insightful review. I never understood RM but has good respect for it now until I heard about the price tag that is still, IMO, too high and unjustifiable. And I find Eric really sexy without sunglasses. ^^
Pretty new to the watch game, but man do I find this thing appalling. I'll pay a few grand for a fine movement in a quality case, but even if I was a billionaire I wouldn't even consider this thing.

Good vid. If I had the money, I wouldn't by one. Quality movements but their designs lack class. Sometimes less is more but it's RM's thing to create eye candy. I find it gimmicky and loud and lacks any design sense other than screaming I have a RM and I'm rich. That in itself is classless. If I'm wrong, please let me know why? I just don't see it.
+Ross Anderson I agree with you. I like them. But it's not my holy grail watch. I actually think there movements lack and that there designs are quite appealing. Lol go figure. But overall I hear you.
+CRM Jewelers thanks for the reply. It's a matter of personal taste. I get it it may appeal to some. I have seen pinball machines with less bells and whistles. I get what RM is doing and good for them. They have carved out a niche but I find them gaudy.
If you like the Chinese hot & sour soup, then chances are you like the Ulysse Nardin Freak & the RM watches. Except RM's are hardcore porn in horology. Once you have an RM on your wrist is like magic. It feels like getting out of your KIA Optima and jumping into a SL65
RM when you will have achieved one century of horology history like Breguet, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger Lecoultre or even Omega, we can talk again... maybe.
It's no different than buying an expensive luxury vehicle or anything else. Actually, it's better than buying a luxury vehicle which depreciates. If bought correctly, a good watch will maintain and even increase its value over time.
CRM Jewelers A luxury vehicle gives more in return than a stupid watch that only tells the time. If you want something that increases value stick to real estate.
MrStoneycool69, a luxury vehicle depreciates. Therefore, it does not give a return. Instead, it has a negative return. Real estate doesn't always increase in value relative to inflation. To confirm this for yourself, just look at the long term historical charts and studies by American Nobel Laureate and economist Robert J. Shiller, who is also a professor at Yale. People that buy luxury watches like the Richard Mille shown in this video do not do so because they want their watch to replace their smart phones. They do so because they can afford it, because they appreciate horological works of art, and because there's nothing wrong with making a fashion statement that subliminally says, "I have made it! I deserve it!" They do this regardless of how many jealous people exist out there who cannot afford a nice watch and will always complain about it. There are many people like that out there, but luxury watch owners do not concern themselves with those. If you haven't noticed, this is a channel about high end watches. If you're not into them, maybe you should join a real estate investment channel. Good day and good luck.
CRM Jewelers Wow you really do a polite and thorough break down of why this watch costs what it does. I was just going to say *Muggles will never understand* :)
The only dragon I like on a watch is Richard Mille Jackie Chan model. In the spirit of Hong Kong, I will buy a well made fake one. US$500 is what I'll spend in what would look the same if you hang it in a swatch shop. Never mind real gold or not. Fake ones are stainless steel and good enough for me. No one is going to believe you can afford a real one unless your car matches anyways.
Maybe if you own a sports team you'd pick this. For anybody looking to spend that money on a watch, this has a lot of issues: no brand history; unknown brand future; unknown reliability and servicing; too sporty; not luxurious enough to the masses (ask a 25 yearold chick and she will guess it cost $500); potentially ugly to many (too sporty/mechanical)... I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole, not even for $15,000. If you are going to go for an extremely expensive, obscure brand, go for Roger Dubuis - their watches scream luxury. This says Rafa Nadal and looks like something a 12 yearold lego kid building a Transformer would wear. I'm sorry, I truly, deeply believe these watches are an absolute disaster financially and I genuinely don't like the look of them!
+V Cccc My family has been in the Horology business for 2 generations, I'm on the third. You would be surprised what is the actual production cost of a watch like this. For a RM11 its about $5000 USD, thus they get a HUGE margin profit.

+V Cccc Sir: I support your statement, this is a matter or cost vs true value. Objective vs subjective value. These super expensive watches are all objects of status but their true value is VERY VERY FAR DOWN from their nominal cost.
Hilarious and informative at the same time Eric. With so many overly technical videos out there about watches that are just plain boring, yours are a breath of fresh air. This makes me feel like manning up and pulling the trigger on a Richard Mille! Lol

How do you change the date and time on this watch?

+Arcord10 lol, they tend to have that effect! Thank you for your comment.
I love this particular one model of RM.
Great review - steel never looked so good!
Does CRM do trades like Rolex + cash for AP?
+Andre 1,000 thank you. Sure, we buy, sell and trade. Give us a call.
How is the rotation of the hands on that watch I saw in another review by someone else on another rm that the rotation was not smooth
Hi Eric! Great video. Can you do a review on the RM030 rose gold?
Could be a deal or no deal breaker depending on your review for me !

Does playing a famous artist’s music like in this video mean the video won’t be monetised??
Never mind the RM, I like your AP!! ;)
It's funny watching Awkward Eric in this video compared to COOL ERIC of today that's too cool for school 😄

From 80k+ to 200k+ 😯 todays market 😯
Nice review!
Thank you Martin. I'm glad you like it.

max holder It's an AP 44mm stainless steel.
thanx
max holder His borrowing my one for a while.
Could you do a review on that AP on your wrist? Love that piece.
moviehousefire, that's a 44mm ROO. It's on my to-do list :-)
I'm looking forward to it. Love your reviews.

Pablo Munguia $89,000 for a watch that has no diamonds & minimal gold when you can buy a brand new Stingray instead... a sucker is born everyday... you can buy a whole gold & diamond jewelry collection with a lot of nice pieces for that price

0 to 100 real quick thats RM My prefered the RM 52
Great Choice.
It should be pronounced Rishar MeeL, since the guy is French.
Thank you Milan. I'm sure the French pronounce it that way.
89,000 $$ watch...... friggin would bully any account into oblivion! dont no how they get away with this! fithy price!!!

Yeah bro was right😹
RM when you will have achieved one century of horology history like Breguet, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger Lecoultre or even Omega, we can talk again... maybe.
Way over priced......
Amari Felix where u get your replicas from?
Jk anyone???
People are off their rockers to pay this much money for a watch.....

Royal Oak have the same clasp
+anthony adolphe somewhat similar.
+CRM Jewelers well I haven't held a Richard Miller to study the clasp but I'll take your word for it. Good vid!
90k for a WATCH WTF!
This brand won't last too long.
Morris Nell, so far, Richard Mille has lasted 15+ years. Given the fact that most new companies fail within 2, that's not too shabby.
Yes Nhan Nguyen I would. We actually have a few at the store and I love them.
I'm sure that's what they said about Rolex and AP when they came out in the late 1800's.
That's another way to do it Nhan Nguyen. Variety is the spice of life! ;-)
Morris Nell RM are for the very wealthy God blessed.
I'll just buy a high aaa replica for 150
yeah ok
This watch is really horrible and ugly, it's looks like something cheap, rm 55 is the best.
richard melleion
Too complicated looking. I definitively say "nooooo"!
LOL. acquired taste
Not worth the money I see it for
