@@littlesammyf7380 - well, because the device is nothing but a beautiful brick without wifi. The device itself is great, love the drawing capabilities, the look of it and the quality feel. HOWEVER, unless you have wifi access where you don’t have to press on “connect” you will NOT be able to share any files, period.
I travel for a living and stay at dozens of hotels all over the world. Every single one of them asks you to sign in to the wifi - usually your last name or room number, etc. some kind of password maybe and then you click on OK or sign in.
Standard practice EVERYWHERE!! Be it Starbucks, other cafes, restaurants, subways, public wifi connections, etc., etc.. they ALL make you click on connect one way or the other to, you guessed it, get connected.
This device however has NO capability of doing that because it doesn’t have a browser, not even a mini-browser just for log-ins.
I’ve had this beautiful device with me for almost a month now, have stayed in 14 hotels in 6 different countries and unfortunately have not been able to share a single document or file I’ve created with any of my colleagues. NOT ONE! All because I can’t log on to wifi.. I tried at all of my hotels, numerous cafes and also other venues which had wifi access. No luck.
This is a device created in Norway. Right next to Denmark, the country where Bluetooth technology (and name) was invented, and yet this device does not have sharing capabilities without wifi. It just blows my mind..
I could (possibly) share documents using their “experimental” (their wording) usb to computer file transfer but I’d need to have a computer or laptop with me. I don’t bring one because the whole purpose of this device was to travel lighter.
Also, their support is a total joke, I’ve now waited almost two weeks for a reply, I’ll probably have to return it but don’t know how since I’m on the road and left the packaging that came with it at home in the US. (Won’t be back for two more weeks) I waited months!! for this device. Yes, I’m VERY disappointed. 😔
got my Remarkable 2 today and it came with Marker Plus. I don't remember if I upgraded during ordering. It is a cool device though
Your point at 16:10, yeah, the RM2 design is wider, because it moves the electronics to the side. RM1 and RM2 have the same physical screen dimensions. But RM2 could legitimately *feel* wider. The white frames also feel like an extension of the canvas. Product design could change perception and user experience. Interesting!
I received mine a couple of days ago and im super stoked! I did purchase the marker plus and i believe it was available for the first few batches as well. Im sure i would have missed it too if i was in a rush haha! but fortunately i sat on my decision and even though i was in a later batch i am very satisfied with the eraser function. that little detail makes this tablet that much more enjoyable and i am really excited to use this bad boy when i go back to university in january!
also i think your arm was touching the display at 14:38 and interfering with the pens touch. just throwing that out there for anyone who sees this and has the same issue repeatedly

That's one of my top wish list to have a device like this with color.. I have the 1 gen and I love it.. but I won't buy another one till it has color
Just got mine from batch 7. First time with a paper tablet. So far it's shown great versatility. I used to write my notes during calls then transcribe them to my database. Now i just convert to test, sync to my pc then copy/paste to the database. It takes a fraction of the time. I also am a messy reader and will underline and jot notes right on my books. Now I do that on my epubs. and i DID get the marker+ and it is cool that you can flip the marker over to erase yet its almost just as easy to swap to your eraser on the screen. I'm now the envy of my sales team!

Just received my Remarkable 2. It can nothing compared to Onenote. you only use this because it is cool, and good to read on. not because you wanna be productive. and if you jsut wanna read good. jsut buy a big amazon kindle. it cost 80% less. lookingforward to see if Remarkable 3 has a chance in the game

You can use any coin and put it next to the tip of pen. Wave it over what you want to erase and voilà!

Sorry for that pen mistake. But also for the fact, that the display of the rm2 is exactly the same measure of the display on the rm1.. imho
I like the fact is doesn't have Google crap on there. I do a lot of reading and drawing sometimes. I am going to purchase one in the next month.

Thank you for this very useful video. I work with PDFs all day long and am looking at this for purpose. Is it easy to download PDFS, organise them into folders and sub-folders so I can work with them?

All reviews I have seen have indicated that it's worth the upgrade. I ordered it and - while I get my device later this month - I know I won't regret it.
Can someone please talk about the security aspects of this device? Like what if you want to lock specific doc? Or can anyone who picks yo your remarkable read all your content?

What are the power modes of the Remarkable 2? I noticed that you had to boot it up after you took it out of the box. This seemed to take a few seconds...which would be a deal breaker for me as a replacement of a paper notepad. Does it have a sleep mode? If so, do you know how many hours of sleep you get on full charge...and more importantly, how long does it take to wake it from sleep mode and start taking notes?
I am looking for a tablet that can replace a paper notepad for taking notes. I currently own a 12.9" iPad pro (which works great) but I find myself still reaching for a paper notebook because of the time delay when using the iPad. Even when the iPad is powered on and is in sleep mode, I still have to wake it up and tap on the app. While this only takes a few seconds, it's still too long when I am on a phone call and I need to quickly take a note.

Go to 14:20 in the video. He turns the device on from sleep mode while it's in the folie.its essentially instantaneous. however, I don't think it opens a new notepage by default, but rather, it will open up what you had open last. If you have a big notebook open most times, it should be as quick as the video shows. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, no.
Changed my mind shortly after purchase and got only part of the refund back: they roll down their bank fees to the customer!!! Absolute disgrace, be careful people, boycott such business practices and avoid them at all costs.

It was part of the preorder. It looks like ReMarkable 2 accessories might not be available for separate purchase at the moment?
Why did you think this had the eraser? It was very clear on the website, and you can’t buy the marker alone.
I guess honest mistakes are unacceptable to some people?
Does the case and stylus/pen come with the device or you have to order them separately?
The stylus/pen and case are each an additional fee at checkout.
Maybe I will get one MAYBE...
Great review. Would it be possible to also show/explain how the connection to your PC work (i.e. synchronizing files, adding ebooks, etc.)?
It’s all done through the cloud and a remarkable app.

@@Prism684 the only way is the remarkable app as far as cloud goes. They claim they use end to end Google Cloud encryption for their services, but obviously some IT departments will not allow this device for that reason. You can always use it offline and without the cloud and organize files offline / via email if you want to be extra careful. Either way, I'd check in with IT to hear their thoughts. Imo, it's a secure service. Although if they go out of business, say bye-bye to your notes 😂

@@anarose623 it has internal storage that you can technically use without using the cloud service. you can also access the internal storage without using cloud / wifi by a turning on a setting and accessing the USB web interface (this is a Band-Aid solution, as it is not too user friendly). There's an article on the remarkable blog titled "How to Transfer Files to Your ReMarkable without Wifi".
Does the writing experience compare to a good fountain pen on paper ? Or a pencil on paper?
For me, it’s somewhere in between a pen and pencil on paper. Probably closer to pencil.

RM2 is best device in terms of writing. but the problem is that writing performance can not be differntieated from the competitor such as onyx boox.
They almost catch up writing function. also it provides various function with best H/W so I think Remarkable team have to consider additional SW function at this time.

Apparently their support is dreadful and because they don’t have any resellers in the UK I did not buy one.
You have a thirty day returns policy, guaranteed so take the stylus back. Ha I guess said that people trying to return the device claim it’s a nightmare.
I emailed the company to check their sales and support. So far no response. Worrying
How do you get replacement stylus? Not clear on their site and no option. Very odd

Buy the case on Amazon. It’s superior and half the price. Like I said, do research. I’d buy their stylus though as it seems pretty good
I opted for a new Microsoft surface go i5 processor instead. Do I still want one of these devices? Yep but not for the price. E ink technology is the selling factor for me. I have a technical job and spend more than 12 hours a day behind a screen. I have two early model kindles to accommodate my ebook collection. I do a great deal of reading so I can wait for the new model. Hopefully they will get their act together with support

packaging should not be such a big deal because of the environmental cost. Recycled cardboard is where it's at.

This feels like paper when you write on it. Some people prefer that to the glass feel of the iPad.

This tablet is GREY. The screen is nothing like as white as a sheet of paper, and nothing like as white as shown in your review or any of the other reviews on RUclips.
I mean save 150 more and just buy an ipad
