Texeira is very powerful. Heavy punches and low licks, and he has a tricky mawashi geri. Also, if you notice, his reactions on defence are almost instanteous - that's why Lechi's ushiro mawashi geri didn't connect.
Wow. Teixeira is a machine! In the school were I train, we have a VERY good competition team(wih I dream to be part of one day...), and a bunch of guys and girls there do competition all over the world. They met Teixeira multiple times, and went to party with him after tournaments, and they say the guy is a really nice person. He's pretty huge too. I have a picture of one of my friends with him, and she looks so tiny besides him (while in really, she's pretty tall and made pretty strong)
At last the dreadful Lechi Kurbanov found a worthy foe. Lechi still my favourite, and belongs in the sphere of Legends such as Filho, Feitosa, and the likes!

good fight. kurbanov took some cold kicks to the chest from teixeira. he was definitely more composed, but he should have quit throwing those trick kicks since they clearly were not going to work on teixeira. still, they both fought honorably
yeah, imagine him doing that on a concrete pavement several times, it would really hurt even if he's trained his body, no match for pavement. the delivery of the kick would be devastating though, to the opponent in the streets.

K-v is perfect in his ur-mavashi, and Teixeira knows it: he just protected his head perfectly, and since he did it, K-v became helpless. Unfortunately. Both are greate fighters by all means. Im a kyokushin fighter with the BKK and i can assure you it is no joke! If you have ever been hit by a kyokushin fighter you would know what its like, its like being hit with a sledge hammer. The reason each guy can take it is down to the insane level at which we train at so their stomachs and bodies are like steel. Before you diss any martial art maybe you should try it first. But with your attitude i cant imagine you having the willpower to withstand 10 minutes of our training. Osu!

I'm not sure how Lechi is in a real fight, but in the tournaments he's just waiting on the big KO w/ one of those fancy kicks. On guys like Hitoshi Kiyama and Ewerton Teixeira, the kicks just don't work. These opponents are just too strong for that and Lechi ends up just take a barrage of punches.
Lo mismo pienso yo. Desde un principio era mejor patear sobre una misma pierna y hacer que no pueda Teixeira por demasiado daño en sus piernas. La altura de Teixeira era demasiado para Kurbanov (que no podía patear lo suficientemente rápido), el tiempo de reacción de favorecía a Teixeira. A pesar de ello, Kurbanov dio un muy buen kumite. Dio lo mejor de si. Respeto eso.

Lechi got excellent leg work,but I dont know why the whole match tried back spin and other stuffs when he saw that ewerton is killing him on fists,at the end of match he fight his opponent with his weaphon but it was too late..I think Kustov will be good in fight with ewerton becouse both fighters prefer fists and Kustov is monster with fists..Anyway kurbanov is one of the best..I like his fighting style..OSU!
And something else: Teixeira is much more capable of great endurance, K-v became exhausted and tired somewhere in the middle, esp. at 5:00. Too many jumps and movings, I guess. Teixeira's reaction seems to be better. However, the camera is always behind K-v's back, and it is difficult to consider his reaction and blocks.
@Hellanaturell ^^ tat is not juz a simple high kick. for normal high kick , such as u c in TKD, u nid 2 hav a range b4 u can perform it. the kicks tat he is using here is 'suicidal high kick' , it is used in super close range n oly aim for head as in kyokushin, fighting is alwaz close combat in contrast wif TKD...if those kick hit..opponent would b KO...juz , tat another guy is experiences enuf to block all.... tat is fantastic.... ^^

Kurbanov has really beautiful technique and a perfect kyokushin physique, but I dont know...his trick kicks are too many and most don't hit home, esp against good experienced fighters like Teixeira. Teixeira was taking Lechi's legs out from under a lot - he had great timing in this fight, but he just kinda bounded in sloppily at the end and Lechi didn't know how to react - just kinda held his ground until he time to do a fancy kick-and-miss...was dissapointed by this fight.

I'm definitely not a pro or even amateur of MA, but for me that Lechi tactic seems like abusing the rules of the sport. Judge (or referee?) stops fight every time after falling of one of the fighters (well, only 1 in this particular fight) including Lechi risky kicks, which persuits idea like: "If my kick will connect with target - wow, good, if it won't - it'll safe for me anyway".

You need to wait for your opponent to close the distance before using a spinning back kick, otherwise you won't land it

You can see that Lechi was hurting mid fight. First round Lechi, Second round Texeira, Overtime was debateable, i thought lechi had won this.
in my opinion i could see lechi doing better in K-1 than Everton Texeira....both very good fighters though
