    Every plumber needs an assistant to fetch tools when you are working in a tight. Glad to see Charlie is yours. Before you know it she will know the names of all the tools and know where to find them!

    Charlie to the rescue.. you'll two will be able to retire and let the expert fix everything soon ..lol . I always thought an accumulator stops the "thump" of the pressure pump when it turns everything on and off. Hope the weather has been kind to you and your enjoying your trip north. Thanks for the video.

    • @sailingwiththejamess
      @sailingwiththejamess  Год назад +3

      It does help with thump but that is mainly caused by not having enough securing mounts near corners or the washing machine or other items that use a solenoid Vv to turn on and off.

    One of the reasons I KISS with jerrys only for water (& fuel), no inbuilt tanks. Portable, easy to inspect, clean, replace. Small pump, no accumulator, less plumbing, fittings to fail.

      Yes, the Jerry's are so reliable! We have 4 Jerry's in the back hatch filled with fresh water and then this ~10 litre jug under the galley sink because it's easy to lift and pour from. 🫗 Jerry's are super easy to keep track of water consumption too, no guess work in thinking how much fresh water you have left!

    Excellent, ??? What od- id diameter pex are u using, what type of quick connectors and where did u order them from please, also what type accumulator and litres. Love this content. I've got 16mm od pex and I'm having trouble getting the quick connectors not crimp ones. I get such a Buzz when u can turn on the tap and it works. I put a 4 stage filter system under the sink, works great. Ur right Sam that pumps push not pull, so two accumulator is a great idea. I've got the same toilet with salt flush, I just put a cup of vinegar in bowl maybe twice a fortnight to keep hoses free of calcium and poop. Did u make the rod holders yet? Stay safe xx🇦🇺🌈

      Have you got 16mm or 15mm. John Guest products do 15mm quick fittings. Caravans Plus have been the cheapest in the John Guest range. I have 12mm throughout our boat and it's starting to split, but mainly on bends. I hazard a guess its old, boat is 23. I am going to reduce/remove all bends. I did a price up from Caravans Plus and it was like $250. That will be with spare hose(red/blue)and fittings.
      Oh like the idea of the vinegar in the dunny. We replaced our head hoses last year, the smell was leaching through the hoses!

      Thank you!! ❤️
      Ita amazing what vinegar can do, we have seen some other boaters put in it a spaey bottle and keep it next to the toilet and give it one spray each flush to keep the scale at bay.
      Haven't made rod holders yet , it's on the list! We will getting the boat ready to take overseas over the next few months - lots to do! And we are super excited. It's on the list and the PVC is a great idea 💡 😍❤️

    Great advice on the accumulator, would you suggest a spare diaphragm when purchasing a new accumulator ?,or is it not worth it due to potential perishing of rubber? Will you in the future change to fresh water flush on the toilets ?

    • @sailingwiththejamess
      @sailingwiththejamess  Год назад +4

      We will keep the toilet as salt water, we find pouring a little bit of vinegar down the toilet really really helps get rid of scale build up. Love the salt water flush!
      We are waiting on the diaphragm for the accumulator, would suggest a spare onboard, it was in a plastic bag and stored in a cupboard/storage area not in sunlight and has been preforming well and we really liked being able to fix the problem and have fresh water again with 2 days instead of wait for parts. 😀
