Got the same model this year,👍. Fitted the fuel dongle & Wings exhaust after the first service, loving the bike. I got an email after the first service informing that if the bike is serviced by a KTM Dealer every 12 months the warranty will be renewed yearly even after the first 2 years initial warranty expires. A good thing in my book as even if the bike is 2+ years old and you want to sell it privately you can advertise it with the remainder warranty, I believe as long as the next rider carry's on the same process they are covered also.
Exactly the same as mine then, it's an awesome bike! It is good that they let you maintain the warranty that way, even if it does lock you into their dealer network somewhat. Going to go the whole hog next year and get an air intake and a remap, but for now it's still plenty of fun.
Just bought one fully kitted out with wings, dna filter, BHP RE MAP, and it’s absolutely phenomenal, it’s a missile and sounds amazing ❤ in short it’s outrageous FUN! Probably my best FUN BIKE EVER!
I also had a zx636r and a 2019 701, looking ay geting a new 23 model 701 once you have had a SM its hard to be without one, look forward to the exhaust vid
They do get under your skin, same with the sportsbikes too. A used sportsbike is a much more appealing prospect than a used SM though so perhaps could have one alongside one day, much to my insurance provider’s dismay
If you change the exhaust you really need to fit the dongle as well. These bikes run quite lean from the factory so you really want to up the fuelling. The dongle will do that by frigging the reading from the Co2 sensor to increase low rpm fuelling. I’d also recommend leaving the baffle that wings have already fitted. I compared the sound when first fitting my 701 and without the baffle it’s crazy loud without and slightly less with the other one. 💥🎧🙉 lol.
@@steve00alt70 Nothing to do with oil. Euro 5 emission rules makes these bikes run lean. The fuel dongle makes the 02 sensor read that the bike need more fuel and so makes the fuel ritcher and runs better.
Drop a tooth on the front sprocket, easy and cheap, the bike is a lot smoother and the gears actually make sense now... Should be that way from the factory. I have a fuel dongle and an Akra exhaust, after 8k miles I have absolutely no urge to do a remap.
That could work actually, since 4th gear is currently slightly too tall for cruising in town and 3rd is too revvy, so I’m on and off the clutch or throttle constantly. I do however have an airbox mod planned so if that ever happens I think the remap would be mandatory, so I’d be worried about it being a bit too spicy with the remap and sprocket change!
Hi there. New to your channel. Are those under-bar mirrors standard? How are you coping with luggage ? Just using a rucksack? I'm guessing that the battery is a reasonable capacity, having seen that you are using a sat-nav and various pieces of heated clothing. Do you use an Optimate charger? Cheers.
Hi Mark, welcome 🙂 A: the mirrors are called ‘stealth mirrors’, easiest way to find them is to search for that on instagram, they are very good and totally unobstructed view, but they’re perhaps a touch too small, and looking down takes some getting used to. A: yes just a racksack for now, there are racks, tail bags and saddlebags available which would be a must for touring. There’s also an air intake conversion kit by rade garage which unlocks some underseat storage too. A: battery wise I’ve had no problems so far, I tend to get out on it at least once a fortnight so I assume that keeps it charged up well enough, even with heated vest usage. Hope this helps!
It's from CRT Performance Parts. It does make a difference but nothing mind blowing, maybe around 30% smoother (with the addition of an exhaust too which probably negates some of the benefits).
@@ojlbrickwork8092 Ahh yeah I see what you mean. To be fair, it is a road bike dressed as a supermoto, they don’t tell you that before you buy it though 😅. I know some people have dropped a tooth on the front sprocket for a bit more grunt, but I believe the best option is an exhaust and a remap if you don’t want to lose any motorway cruising ability. The engine itself is certainly capable given the chance; the way I see it KTM could either stop making it altogether, or release them in a neutered state as they do currently, so I’m kind of grateful that we can still get them at all.

Congrats! Sounds like a beast and with all the right mods done already! Can't wait to get mine mapped next year.
I really enjoy your videos, you are also quite funny.
I have just bought a 701SM today. Waiting for it to get shipped from Sydney.
Thanks mate, your comment gave me a nice little boost today!
Glad the dealer are seemingly being good about it, look forward to hearing it with a 'zorst!

A bike shouldnt need any special thing to fuel it. Just get the recommended brand of oil for husky and that should be fine.

If you get another exhaust, get your ecu flashed as well and mod the airbox for more flow. The bike becomes twice as good.
Getting the airbox and reflash next year hopefully, for now exhaust and fuel dongle is good enough.

mine 2023 husky 350 FE was overfilled with oil as well, I had to pour some out, who is prepping these bikes I don't know...
Still not sure if it was the dealer or the factory that did it, perhaps it's intentional for the break in or something?

Which fuel dongle did you go for?

The dog is thiamine(Vitamin B1) deficient if it craves raw meat.
It doesn't feel talkie at all
Do you mean torquey? If so I’d have to disagree.
@TheRoadWarrior96 yes my apologies, I have the exact same bike, I was expecting low grunt of a 450 endro. Its seams ill have to mod the bike alot lol
