Not every day you get the pleasure of witnessing a first-rate jam session between 8 friends that all happen to be world-class musicians, all out to have fun and celebrate each other, eh?
I absolutely loved how positive, uplifting and fun this was :)
So TW and B-M met at a US festival in 2022 and said they should collaborate. They got that opportunity this year. They went to Japan and played three shows, one with Band-Maid. TW traveled to Japan two weeks early to write/compose/record with B-M and record a MV. They then played it together at their one concert together. In an interview on the PRS channel, Kanami and Dany said that more collaborations are in the future and TW wants B-M to come to Mexico and sing in Spanish. Dany and Kanami play similar PRS guitars in the same color.

Kanami composed the song. great job, not only writing for 2 bands, but challenging everyone too. Alana mentioned them singing in a high range. That was one of the challenges, written in a key higher than Dany and Saiki usually sing in. They performed it live too, in Japan, but only a 30 sec or so teaser clip of that has been officially released so far. They also posted shorts leading up to this, Dany vs Kanami, Ale vs Misa, etc, and a solo short for Miku.
To all bands, worldwide, contemplating a collaborative effort: this is how its done. Thank you Japan, thank you Mexico!

You won't get the Band-Maid style from this, but you will get Kanami's brilliant composition and arrangement to accommodate both bands. The warning style with Band-Maid instrumentation.
It was interesting to see the different playing styles, yet the sound was phenomenal. It is hard to compare the slap.style bass to Ale's finger plucks. Both sound great but very different.
Maybe the coolest thing about this, yes they're both rock bands but distinctively different - that's a GOOD thing - and yet it's a blend rather than a mash-up. (Nothing against mash-ups, they're fun.)
There's so much that can be said about The Warning and their massive impact on the international music scene. But since you are learning more about the Maids, here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Does anyone besides me think that Misa ending the song with that bass line was a shout-out to Ale for the way she ends "Survive"? For some reason that was the first thing that hit me. These two talented bands have worked hard to get where they are. Mad props for them being able to mesh like this for an extraordinary collab. Great reaction, very cool how you mentioned every member of the bands so people who might not be familiar with one or the other would know who's who. 🤘👏

Baby Metal is an Idol band that is stuck singing and dancing to just one type of music. These two bands are actually REAL bands not a dancing idol group. Popularity is not the same as being great. Band Maid and The Warning are great and Baby Metal is a cheap gimmick you fell for.
