You saved me $150 in labor at my local repair shop! Your step by step instructions and excellent camera closeups and lighting made this doable. I agree, jiggling the alternator out of its position (and new one in) was a bear, but worth it.
Thank you so much for this video I started watching 3 days ago my alternator went out I had just enough for a new one I went step by step with you and I successfully installed the new alternator. It was definitely touch getting it out an putting the new one in but I did it thanks you!
Thanks for the video-it definitely gave me the confidence to replace my alternator. I’m not going to lie there were a couple times I said ‘this thing is never coming out or going back in’ but with enough wiggle and cussing it did. 😁
You did a great job my tensioner nut is a 19 mm. But just as you said everything else was the same that wiggle game was something. Nonetheless the job is done thank you very much 💯💪🏽
We liked your video and it helped. One thing you didn't mention is that the threaded bushings on the alternator sometimes when they are pressed in at the factory will encroach into the space that you need to get the alternator to pass the mount. I took the one we were working on and started the bolt into the threaded bushing and tapped the head of the bolt with a hammer which made the bushing flush with the alternator mounting bracket and allows you to slip it right on. This trick also works for removal. Just back the bolt out about a 1/4" and tap the bolt. It will give you more slack. Thanx for the video. Radarsski
I did my 2008 sorento 3.8 front 2 wd Not transverse mounted engine the same. You really need to remove that battery box to make room for things. The hardest problem I had was I am not as strong as I used to be as a teeenage mechanic/ Now at 65, it was hard to hold up that alternator which is a pretty heavy duty one, and get it in place. Also a big breaker bar is really helpful to push that tensioner. just a regular extension might not give you enough leverage. Still I got it done in the hotel parking lot, about 1 1/2 hours. Take care on the alternator wire connectors that are under that plastic clip. Just be patient. One of the nuts was a bit tricky to get a wrench on
Thank you for sharing you did a wonderful work detailing the task as well showing the proximity of ReaL Time this should take Peace and Light to you 🕊🤍⚔️
How much do I need to remove to replace all the spark plugs and their coil packs? It just is not clear if the intake manifold and plenum stuff is in the way
I just replaced the alternator on my 2006 Sorento 3.8 and the alternator on that is on the bottom right side of engine and it was easy to do I removed the sway bar to get out between engine and radiator. I had the original engine replaced about 3 yrs ago so maybe I don't have a Sorento engine.I don't know the mechanic said it was out of a 2008 Kia Sorento
Did you have to remove the radiator fans in the front? We got the belt off and the 2 bolts for the alternator out but its not moving lol is there a 3rd bolt? 2008 kia sedona is what we are working on
My son's 2007 kia belt routing looks different. There is no tensioner bolt where you are turning in video. His belt wraps differently around the pulley where you're saying is the tensioner. He has the V6
Would have been 100% helpful if you told us you have to move the positive wire to the next city over to even try and have a lick of a chance of putting this shit back in.

What type of auto tool is that you’re using to get the bolts off the alternator?
Nice video. Exactly what I have been searching FOREVER for!! Are those bolts torqued? if so, what are they?

Ya, that wiggle room, my alternator on an 08 moves up and down, not out...
Do I take tension bolt l the way off when changing alternator
Is the tension nut supposed to appear to be coming off... Looks like its about to come off???

I didn’t have to remove the radiator fan. The alternator is pretty stubborn sometimes
Hello can you show us how to fix a passenger car window.
what's wrong with it?
What electric ratchet are you using?
It’s a Snap on one, extended. The neck is longer than the regular one

If ther is not its engine of sorrento 2007 ..3800 ..can I replace another engine of another kind of car .thank u
You’ll have to do some extra research as to what engine codes are going to work.
You made the getting back in look way too easy. The wiggle game isn’t working for me. 😂
Can you get ahold of me personally? I'm having some problems man.
How would you like me to contact you?
Weird you said in the video this will apply to 2007 to 2009 but on your title it says 2002 to 2007 🤔
Thanks for pointing that out. It's from 2006-2009. Mistake on my end!
Please send the diagram and mark the tensioner.thanks
How can I get a copy of the serpentine belt diagram?
While that part of the video is up.. Hold the 'power' button and press the 'down volume' button... :)
My belt won't go back on it won't release enough to put belt back on 2007kia sorento
Make sure it's routed correctly

The belt tensioner pulley bolt is not a 14 it’s a 19mm
I can see what is detention pulley
Its pretty easy very greesy but
Why don't you have more lighting, I can't see anything you're doing. So what's the point of putting your video on RUclips??????
Would have been 100% helpful if you told us you have to move the positive wire to the next city over to even try and have a lick of a chance of putting this shit back in.

God that was a pain in the ass
Damn batman. Ever heard of a world light. Your video is dark as hell.
Invest in a light for your vids. Can’t see sht.
