HI IPCS Thanks for info on COSMOS standard. My question is..If i choose ingredients which are cosmos certified ,,,am I making 100 % organic formula?? ..how did we achieved here the second limitation [95% physically processed agro-ingredients must be organic] THANKS
You are only making 100% organic if 100% of your content is organic - which is not necesary to achieve certification. But if you are intending to claim 100% organic then you need to show it is 100% organic. Hope this helps!
There are a few ways to broaden your searches for raw materials: • Visit our global suppliers page: createcosmeticformulas.com/IngredientSuppliers/cosmeticingredientsuppliers-897/ • Join our Cosmetic Raw Materials for Small Brands facebook group: facebook.com/groups/1734896293290235/ here you can split packs with others to access materials from large suppliers When you are a student with us, you also get access to our raw material database, which has 1000’s of raw material details in it, along with supplier details - so you can access this info, get in touch with suppliers and ask for samples (they will provide our students samples) and/or seek minimum pack sizes (or consider purchasing and splitting packs on the Small Brands facebook group above).
It depends on what equipment one has in both a lab and at the manufacturing stage. A water bath is great in a lab if the product is then being manufactured in a water-jacketed vat, but if you don't have that manufacturing equipment or don't know where you're product will be manufactured (ie contract manufacturer) then the method may not be transferable. I hope this helps.
I used Planservative from Campo Research, please email us for full formulation details and supplier information: info@personalcarescience.com.au This would have a 3 year shelf life minimum.
The Institute of Personal Care Science Thankyou for replying. Have never heard about this preservative but it looks so natural. Seems unreal that an organic preservative can provide 3 year shelf life.

No, it is a combination of ingredients, the emulsifiers hold oil inside what is called a micelle, while the water surrounds the micelles. No ingredients alter their chemical structures, it is just emulsifiers trapping oil inside which is why they look milky/creamy. @Maryrose Anderson - the answer is yes you can, just lessen the oil phase depending on how thick/ thin you want it, add whatever % you took away of the oil/ emulsifier phase and add that % of water into the formula. Mix in whatever pigment blend you want and you have a bb cream. They just want to make money from people and thats why they make these videos and only give you half the info!
@@AIMManishaKanojia you need a pigment blend and base powders, mixed together. Some good base powders are kaolin, rice powder, sericite mica coated in carnauba wax, silica microspheres, magnesium steerage and some non nano zinc oxide. Titanium dioxide is very opaque so it’s what gives most of the coverage, you can add it but don’t add too much. Kaolin also gives a matte coverage, so don’t go overboard with that either. Zinc oxide gives some coverage but it’s not as opaque as titanium dioxide.

Hi Belinda nice video very appreciated. I’ve always learnt to mix the oil into the water phase, however I see many people online doing the opposite. Does this effect the final product? Also when adding xanthan gum (I’ve tried several different types) it always leaves an annoying residue when rubbing in the product. Can this be avoided without changing the gelling agent?
