I am also glad that BUZZR had the original "Concentration", that ran 1973 to 1978 weeknights at 7:30 pm eastern. Hosted by Jack Narz with Johnny Olson as announcer.
Shows like this and Whats My Line had the studio audience on their honor that no one would yell out the information . Where as on The Price Is Right the audience would yell out whatever their opinions .
The theme played over the audience pan shot was "Puppet On A String," a hit in England for Sandie Shaw, but I don't think here. I believe the musicians on the show then were Milt Kaye (organ) and Moe Goldenberg (percussion, the father of Hollywood composer Billy Goldenberg and a virtuoso percussionist who taught at Juilliard and wrote textbooks on the subject.)
This would have to be earlier than 1969, since ZIP Codes were in effect by then. 9 would have been the zone number, which preceded ZIP Codes. ZIP stands for Zone Improvement Plan. Neither a zone number nor a ZIP code was given in the address for NBC at 30 Rock.
21:10 "Oh, my word! We have a brand new champion! Whoo!! Bob Clayton must have nuts to to see Pat solve the puzzle with 8 squares revealed. Sort of. It was 6.
This show needs a reboot! I would love to see a new version of this wonderful show.

Bob went on to become announcer on the Pyramid shows after NBC canceled Concentration until his death in 1979.
Bob Clayton was a good replacement for Hugh Downs. He seemed to really enjoy the game and brought a lot of energy.
Even before that,Bob was the Bell Captain in The Bellboy, something Jerry Lewis wrote, directed and starred.

Something that also happened in the 1967 CoC-which likewise came down to a best-of remaining 3-Game set.
The hosts know the right answer from the beginning of each game , an exercise at being poker faced throughout .
This installment is just like the 1967 CoC-it came down to a best-of-remaining 3 game set.
Later Downes became host of 20/20.
Talk about VARIATIONS ON A THEME,that music heard at the outset is one to the fanfare for that Hong Kong movie company.

It might have aired around October, just days before that GE College Bowl Game between Johns Hopkins and Bradley.
21:08 Wow! What a way to win it!
I meant to mention Bob Clayton wasn’t the only one who wore the Concentration blazer, the same is true of those 2 women finalists.
22:17 the telecine is bugged up, Chris Bryant
I can notice Bob Clayton was the only one who wore that Concentration blazer.
I’m convinced Bob meant a reference to Ed Sullivan.
Maybe Diane didn’t get that automobile, only her landing the scooter made up for it.
Will Buzzr air this era of Concentration? It could air on weekends.
In my estimation, Hugh Downs was the star of Concentration.
He was. But Bob Clayton was a suitable and honorable successor.
Where Chattanooga is located-midway between Nashville and Atlanta.
That's where WRCB-3TV carried the program in 1969 and still is today!
Steady,steady audience.
Diane looks like Christine Baranski
I wonder if the show where Pat who won the trip around the world has ever been found.
This was it. The last game went extremely fast and there was no time left.
@@WaltGekko Thank you.
It would be interesting to know exactly what car the Sport Compact was.
A car(sport compact).
Good thing,Bob only I don’t know who it is.
Wayne Howell is the announcer.
As a matter of fact he turns out to be NBC’s long-running staff announcer.
@@charlesmeadows6285 Other than Don Pardo.
I also recognize the voice of Wayne Howell from a week or more of What’s My Line?
Yes. He was the announcer for the rest of "Concentration".
And the sign off for WNBC-4 in New York in 1985.
Chicago 9 Illinois? Where is the zip code 60609?

SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

Pat,who actually won that 1969 CoC with the correct answer.
@@charlesmeadows6285 Thank you. My fault. Wrong Person.
21:06 I was as shocked as Bob Clayton to see a puzzle solved that quickly. No wonder Pat won it all. Mr. Clayton's reaction was classic.
