    Hello!
    Congratulations for the video, it was very good and very well explained.
    Would you happen to inform the following characteristics of the video and processing?
    Video:
    1- What gimbal angle did you use?
    2- Did you use the video format as wide or 4:3?
    Processing:
    3- Alignment, advanced.
    4- Dense cloud, advanced.
    5- Mesh, advanced.
    6- Texture, advanced.
    Thank you very much!!

    • @gamegoof

      I think once you turn it into a 3d model, if you know a few dimensions of something in the shot (Truck length, door width, etc) then you can scale the whole thing based on that

    Have you ever tried to pull a Metashape model into a drafting software like Autodesk Revit? I work at an Arch/Engr firm and am trying to think of ways that I could implement my drone interest into my day job. I could see it being handy with expansion projects, where the architects are modeling an existing structure from scratch, so that they can then model the new addition, in order to show renderings of what the final project would look like.

    • @AZ-Drone
      @AZ-Drone  11 месяцев назад

      Sorry for my extreme delay, this one slipped past me. Metashape allows for a lot of export options for models. I know that there are several videos and tutorials here on RUclips about Metashape and Revit. I'd suggest checking some of those videos out. Also check out what file formats Revit can work with, and compare that to the export options Metashape has.

      @@AZ-Drone I guess if your client had wanted the 3d models for viewing, which file type and/or viewer would you have used to share the file with them? I imagine they would need software, or a web based brower, to open the .obj or whichever file you extracted from metashape?

      In the case of documenting a road I'd probably lean toward doing a model with Drone Harmony or Map Pilot Pro to generate an orthomosaic model. Unlike orbiting a house where we have a point of interest, a road probably wouldn't come across well. How long is this section of roadway?

Is there a setting or preference you may have some insight into that may need to be changed? My MAC is 7+ years old now so that might have an impact... • @AZ-Drone
      @AZ-Drone  Год назад

      I haven't tried it with a fish eye like the GoPro. Could be an interesting experiment to see how Metashape handles it. Here's one thing I do know. Metashape is more than a program for drone modeling. People have been doing photogrammetry before drones hit the market place. I've seen some amazing models generated with ground based cameras as well. So I wonder how wide or distorted the images could be going into Metashape. Would be an interesting experiment to walk around the home with a GoPro and see what gets generated.

    • @relentlessdroning5835
      @relentlessdroning5835 Год назад +1

      @@AZ-Drone Well, I flew and filmed with a RunCam Orange 5 (about same fish-eyeness factor, as a cheap GoPro equivalents). The 3d model got generated. A bit skewed, but that may have to be fixed by tweaks in the Metashape. Still, quite impressive, for the little effort required :) Next I may try to program area scan, to fly in parallel lines. See what that produces.

      I have worked with models in Blender, but I have not done any work with Unreal engine. I use Metashape and WebODM for generating models, and the big part for Blender would be making sure I've exported the models in a format Blender will be happy with.

    • @AZ-Drone
      @AZ-Drone  Год назад

      Yes, absolutely, this would work. In the Metashape video import you can vary the frames, and you should test it out as I can remember which setting makes more images, and which makes fewer.
