Full Journey on Mumbai Rajdhani Express: Surat-Mumbai High Speed Blast

Second part of the full journey compilation on the Mumbai Rajdhani Express featuring a furious run between Bharuch and Mumbai Central. The WR King, now in its own territory heads southward through coastal Gujarat at a furious pace, post Surat. It is the third week of June and monsoon clouds are hovering overhead, and unleashing the occasional sharp burst of rainfall upon the parched earth. We storm through the fairly large stations of coastal Gujarat such as Amalsad, Navsari and soon are thundering through Valsad and the industrial hub of Vapi. As we near Mumbai, we are first met by the Vatva WDM3D hauled Secunderabad Rajkot Express, and as we slow down over the teeming Vaitarna river, we meet the Mumbai Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express, hauled by a Vadodara WAP5. Soon after, we enter Mumbai’s suburban section via Virar and maintain a frenetic pace through Vasai Road and zip over the Vasai creek and into Borivalli. It is raining heavily in Mumbai and we negotiate our way through Andheri and Bandra, meeting the Firozpur Janata and Swaraj Expresses on the way, to finally arrive at Mumbai Central bang on time.
