    The worst sore about the whole thigh gap standard is that it’s almost entirely based on your bone structure, most people don’t naturally have a wide gap between thighs and it’s not at all a indicator of health.

      But also her bone structure looks like she does have a thigh gap but a tiny one and she tends to loose muscle mass after a comeback so it looks like she gained weight when the opposite is true.
      I’m not her doctor so I don’t know for sure but those are my observations and my knowledge from visiting the doctor with my sis that has the same bodytype as Jennie.

    People gain weight differently… I gain first in my upper leg and face first so it’s always obvious and I really hate it. Lots of people I know never gain anything in their limbs or have very evenly distributed weight gain and some gain in the abdominal area first.
    I’ve seen a lot of hate towards IVE’s Liz for weight, but looking at her she is clearly very slender. Same for many others. I feel like people who gain in the face are usually targeted more than others.

    I think saying thick legs is unattractive is foolish. It's a sign of health amd natural womanly shape. That stick skinny look when its not natural by genetics its obvious. The idols looks sick,dry and always exhausted. Health over everything. But talent and music over unhealthy ideals.

    • @boombayuna536
      @boombayuna536 Год назад +12

      "womanly shape" - there's no such thing as that, made up by the society (mostly men). i get what you mean, it's most likely for women to fill out their body more once they age and start maturing into real adults. but women come in all shapes and sizes, having skinny legs doesn't make you less of a woman.

    Netizens criticize idols when they are chubby. If they loose weight, they criticize them for being too skinny. There is no win-win situation here. I really hate how the public tries to police and control other peoples bodies. It’s really not fair. I also hate how most idols give in to what the public wants. I think it makes the public feel they have power over people, and they really shouldn’t. I also feel like it’s getting worse and worse. Some of these girls are so thin you feel like if they dance, they will break a bone if they fall. Being anorexic ain’t pretty, it makes the bones brittle, it makes your breath stink, it takes away your womanly curves, it makes you lose your hair while also gaining that baby hair or lanugo all over the body. This is so not cool and it isn’t safe. Anorexia has the highest mortality rate than any other psychological disorder, and most of these girls are still developing. It isn’t sexy or cute to see idols fainting because they are eating ice chips for dinner because the public wants them to look a certain way. When an idol gains, they are fat shamed, when they lose, they are skinny shamed. When does it stop?

      Because when Yuri and Seolhyun were getting praised for their thighs, they were still relatively having low weights BMI 16-18. The idols on this video seem to be heavier than that.
      Also Yuri and Seolhyun have the same body type (Pear shape), which Ryujin from Itzy has as well. Since Kpop idols are so skinny, there’s not really gonna be much hourglass looking idols out there, so pear is the closest there is to hourglass in the industry. Rectangular bodies are the most common body type in women I believe, so when idols have small waists compared to their hips, people tend to associate it with hourglasses and good proportions, and fawn over it. A lot of the idols on this video were rectangles or apples which is why they got hate instead of appreciation, sadly :(

    In Asia it seems that they will always prefer skinny idols, without much fat in any part of their bodies, doesnt matter the trend in ocident countries, that constantly move between wanting celebs and normal women to be either 1 curvy and thick or 2 skinny muscled + bony. Either asian or ocident, both are trends that arent healthy, forcing pretty natural body types to be something they arent.

    Legs are SUPER important in Asia. It is the most "attractive" body part that a female is allowed to show!! Plus having very thin lens makes you look taller, elegant, and delicate, so you fit better in korean beauty standards (similar with arms). If you are chubby but are mostly upside, for them it's easier (because of their fashion) to hide your "ugly torso" than your "thick legs". I find it completely understandable if you think like an Asian. Look at the Chinese tiktoks with "beauty chinese women" and you will see it clearly.
    And it is something not so difficult to get in their point of view, I mean: you just need to loose weight, fat weight, muscle weight, whatever, but keep lossing weight and at some point the tigh gap will appear. Logic, it's no more flesh in each leg to touch other. Bones don't touch each other never. You can do it not matter your body type or skeleton shape.
    But how much weight you have to loose, if you can be healthy, etc. well, that's another topic. And maybe we shoud start to think what is really eat well, do excercise and be healthy, and how important is "being healthy" next to other things. Because I think that Asian and us we have no the same way of thinking here...

    The problem is being consistent: if you are going to have a thick-thighed member, be sure all the other members have thick thighs too. Otherwise, the group “visual cohesion” is ruined. Think the Rockettes: there must be the same standard for kpop idol groups that all members should be somewhat uniform, otherwise it effects the group dance performance and group photos when a particular member sticks out from the others. the one with thick thighs will always stand out so much when compared to the other members. I would HaTE to stand next to Rose of Black Pink, that wouldnt be fair to an average person like me at all.
