    In my experience,
    if you give players a zoom option which increases accuracy,
    they'll just end up using it almost all the time,
    even when they don't actually want to zoom.
    If you don't use it you just feel like you're getting a crappier version of your weapon.

      Well I didn't make it to go unused. It always bugged me how laser accurate most of the vanilla weapons are so I thought it would be cool to open it up a little for my own immersion, while still having the vanilla precision at my fingertips. I made it this way because I find it fun; I'm less concerned with how others might play it.

    So personally speaking I've never seen a shotgun spread affected by how you're holding it

      Then you've never truly lived!
      It's essentially a poly choke that constricts more quickly than its real-world counterpart.

    i like videogames because they think that if you look at a gun really hard it aims better

    I wish someone would fix the idle animation for the machine gun. If you increase you fov (I use “G_FOV 100-106) you’ll see the magazine move up and down in sync with your marine breathing while the stock is completely motionless
    I get it that it’s not built for that kind of fov but still.
    My only other criticism is the weapon spread should be dynamic (not sure how feasible that is)
    In example; the machine gun the first 2-3 shots will retain 90% of its accuracy, if not used in short bursts it will start to rapidly decay to 50% of your initial accuracy. As for the shotgun. I’m gonna be one of those sweaty nerds that don’t entirely appreciate the shotgun changes. The reload speed, 1 shell at a time. Great immersive change.
    The spread change when zooming in. I don’t know about that one; that might be me thinking the shotgun will become very op very quickly. I’ve mastered the hellknight shotgun dance with point blank headshots, which got me thinking if I used the VR stats for the shotgun how strong does it get. As expected. The VR versions spread causes the shotgun to outright replace all your weapons with the odd acceptation.
    This is coming from someone who’s mastered tested 8.1 with all the BS enemy variants. BFG barons, shambler bruisers. You name it

    I almost feel like the shotgun's zoomed spread should be the normal one and then make it even tighter for aimed. It seems like it'd still be basically a point blank weapon like the original.

    I've been using your mod alongside Doom 3 Redux and Arl's Improvements. It's worked fine, but the dryfire mechanic does not work as it always reloads when I press fire on an empty mag.

      Try setting 'Auto Weapon Reload' to 'No' in the game options window, or set 'ui_autoReload' to '0'.
      If these are set and it still doesn't dryfire let me know!

    is the supershotgun included to be playable with base doom 3 or does it need resurrection of evil?

      @MUIZILLASAURUS_REX it requires Resurrection of Evil but I have patches that work with a mod called CstDoom3 which adds RoE weapons to D3 and vice versa

    It would be perfect if there is no reload mod for doom 3

      Coincidentally fva just released a mod for BFG Edition that does exactly that among many other things.
      Shouldn't be too hard to do it for original Doom 3 as well though. Stay Tuned!
